Fang closed his eyes as he brought forth his Ren-Ky weapon and sat on the ground and began to meditate. While Vivian sat watching him as Lora walked over, handing her a bottle of booze.
“Let us hope he can figure out how to understand himself and the weapon’s power? As for each weapon, the awakening process is different.” Vivian explains as Zero walked over. He raises his brow as Kratos snatched the bottle from her, “Hey, that was mine!”
Kratos took a swig back as he sat down, “I needed that after Zero’s mishap earlier. I swear you are going to kill me faster than any Faremin soldier.” He turned to Zero as he grinned sheepishly. “Besides, how long do you think Fang will be at this? And do you plan on training him how to use it?”
Vivian sighed as she took back her booze. “I think today if not tomorrow, as of him awakening it, but the training part. I need to think of one of my contacts. Since it doesn’t know a thing in using a scythe as a weapon.” She took a swig before handing it to Zero, “Here, join us.”
Zero took the bottle as he sniffed it before taking a drink. He gagged as Kratos took it to form him. “I can see you never had alcohol before, it takes some getting used to but can be enjoyed as a treat or in Vivian’s case as a treatment.”
Zero shivered as he watched Kratos take another swig, “I cannot understand drinking that stuff? It just does not feel right in my mouth.”
Kratos laughed as Fang threw a rock at him, “Shut up, I am trying to focus!”
Kratos smirked as he looked over at him, “It is funny, Fang used to be the quiet, serious type and now he talks more. He even opens up to people. It must have been heard not trusting people and pushing them away as to not hurt himself anymore?” Kratos went to tack another swig, but Vivian snatched the bottle.
Vivian guzzled down half the bottle before giving it back to Kratos, “True, I think Wolf made him realize that he was not the only one hurting form others’ actions. Once he saw his mother’s death, and Fang was beaten until he could no longer walk for a short while. He saw the suffering threw a new lens, he saw no matter what, people will still care about him and shove themselves into his life.” Vivian looked over to Zero as he looked away, “You did him a solid by going with him. You did good, kid.”
Zero sighed as he looked at Fang, “I feel as if I did nothing but stood idly by as Fang fell apart. All I did was support him, and now no matter what. We can do more for the others once we return.”
Kratos looked into the bottle as he glared at Vivian, “Don’t forget that you saved his life where I threw him in jail just because he looked like culprit back at the capital. If it were not for you or Wolf, he would be dead right now. I think he feels grateful to have you around. But back to the training part, have you thought of anyone?”
Fang opened his eyes as his weapon glowed and reformed. The blade became jagged as the handle grew longer. “Hey, umm, I think I did it?”
Kratos and the others looked over. Kratos dropped the bottle, spilling its contents on the ground. Vivian smiled as she glanced over to see the jug on the ground, her heart wept as she glared at Kratos. Zero smiled as he ran up to Fang.
“Congrats Fang! You did it!” Zero looked at Fagns weapon, “Wow, your weapon doesn’t have any intricate designs like mine? How strange? I thought it would? Yours seems more simplistic but unique in a way that it says who you are?”
Fang smiled as he looked over the scythe, “Yeah, each chip makes me think of every choice I made and how they have chiselled me into who I am today. The shaft itself feels like the darkness is far but yet close every day, however, not in a bad way.”
Lora ran up to Fang and hugged him, ‘I am glad you were able to do it. V told me it took the first six, took eight years to complete this task. But you took only a few months, that is impressive in itself.” Lora smiled as Fang rubbed her head.
“Yeah, I remember, I was there at the time when the last ones before us got a hold of the Ren-Ky Jewels.” Fang could not help but praise Lora as she smiled at him.
Vivian walked over to him as she smiled, holding Kratos by the ear, “Well, now that is done, you will have to wait until the spring to head to the Spade Dominion. I have a friend there who can teach you how to use a scythe properly. For now, we all shall head back to the capital and tell Kora your progress.” Vivian explained as Kratos broke free.
“Wait, why head back? Would it not be easier to head their now?” Kratos asked.
Vivian punched him in the back of the head, “No, you fool, winter is almost here, and the Dominion has a no passing policy after the first of Novlin. So the smart thing is to head to the capital and wait out the winter until Mray fifteenth as that is when the border reopens for Evermore. Otherwise, it would take over three years to enter the country, threw the Faremin side. As they have policies and you have to be a citizen of Faremin to even cross. Idiot.”
Kratos turned red as he looked away, “I never knew okay, that is all.”
Fang’s face went stiff as he started to think about crossing the border thru the Faremin side. “Vivian, if we need to, is there a way we can get from one place to another quickly?”
Vivian sighed as she looked at the boys, “Well, I do have one method, but it will involve the King, as it requires some material and the King’s permission to even make. As it is forbidden by the average person.”
Fang looked at Kratos as he went pale, “You don’t mean a gateway stone do you?” Vivian nodded as Kratos grabbed her by the shirt. “Are you insane? That thing was banned for various reasons! One being”
“Being that it was used by the Faremin. This law was put in place by my hands, I know the implications. But there is a loophole where if you have th King’s permission and know the reason for making one, with a thorough background check, you can make one with the Royal Guards present at all times until used.” Vivian boasted as she smiled at Kratos, “Now you being a Royal Guard is in our favour. You can go with Fang and Zero to my friend and the moment they use the stone you can return. As you will be holding onto it while Fang holds a fake.”
Kratos crossed his arms at the idea, “I still don’t like it? How will I know if I were to have the real or the fake?”
Vivian began to cackle, “Why the fact I will hand it to you, and it will look nothing like the fake. Many people think it’s a large stone where in reality, it looks nothing like that. I know how to make one that looks moreornate.” Vivian waved her hand around. Before looking at Fang, “Are you fine with this?”
Fang nodded as he walked back to the house, “Yes, this is fine. As long as we can get to a destination quickly.”
Vivian sighed as she grabbed him by the arm, “The only drawback is if Wolf decides to meet ing Isar. The stone’s power will open a gate just outside the country, but not in it. No idea why, but that is how it is.”
Fang bit his lip as he turned to Kratos, “Kratos, look, we will need that stone, knowing Wolf he might actually pull something like that. If Zero and I don’t get there on time. Things could go for the worst. His aim is to train and then reunite the Ren-Ky’s. He must have a date for the reunion.”
Kratos sighed as he looked at Fang. “Fine, we leave tomorrow. Be ready to leave by sunrise. I want to be back at eth capital before the first sign of snow.”
Fang nodded as Zero stared at them. Knowing that everything was happening for some reason or another.
