Amnesia - Chapter 41

Next morning,

Cassandra wake up very early in the morning.The birds were chirping loudly as if they are trying to wake all the villagers.Sunshine was lingering in her eyes.She covered her eyes with her hand as it was directly hitting on her eyes.She sat up from the lying position on the mat.She searched for the granny.

She was working and may be making breakfast.

“Good morning,granny….” Cassandra greeted her.

“Good morning my child.”Granny greeted her back.

“How was your sleep?Did you sleep well last night?” Granny asked her.

“Yes..I slept well.” Cassandra smiled. She really slept very well last night though it is normal to sleep not well in a stranger’s place.But the place seemed to be familiar with her.She is feeling a great bond with granny.

“You can have breakfast with me now.Freshen up…” Granny told her.

Cassandra nodded.She went to freshen up.Granny served her breakfast.

After breakfast,granny asked her something.

“I am now going to the forest for hunting.Do you want to wait here or want to go with me?” Granny was dressing up for going outside.She may have had a fair clear skin,but due to sunburn and aging her skin tone is tanned.Even in this age she had great strong physiques.She looked quite beautiful.

Cassandra hesitated for some time. She never went to hunting.Otherside she was not feeling like wasting all the time just lying bed alone at home.She needed to find a way as soon as possible.It’s better to go out with granny.May be she can know other information which can be proved valuable for her journey and mission.

“I want to go with you…I can help you to hunt.” Cassandra said to her.

“Did you ever go hunting?Somehow I am feeling like you never went for hunting.” Granny tied the belt in her waist.She is much aged now but her waist is still small and there is no visible fat.

“I never go for hunting.Yes you are right.But don’t worry I am a good learner.” Cassandra smiled.She is no longer the old Cassandra or amnesic Anastasia who would just wait likea fool for the upcoming consequences.She will change her fate now on her own.

Granny nodded.She gave her a dress.

“It was my dress.While I was young I used to wear this.You can wear it for now.As I can see you came here with empty hands.” Granny told her.

Cassandra accepted the dress.She was feeling warmth in her heart.The old lady was quite considerate.She was paying attention to Cassandra about every single detail.

She quickly dressed up.Cassandra stared at granny.She had a bow in her back and an arrow and a spear in her hand.

She gave her another set of bow and arrow.

“Keep this.You will need to hunt.”

Cassandra nodded.

They left for the forest.The forest is covered with large trees.In some places it is lightened and in some places it is so dark that it was hard to see own hand as sunshine was barely falling due to dense rows of tree.They saw few animals.A wild deer ran away seeing them.

“Cassandra I am following the deer.Wait here for sometimes.May be there is some other deer in this direction.” Granny told her.

Cassandra nodded.

“There are few dangerous animals in this forest.Be aware of that and stay awake.Take the spear.” The lady offered her spear.Granny disappeared.

Cassandra started waiting standing there.After a few moments,her leg started hurting due to standing for a long time.She went to sit on the trunk of the tree.She was checking the forest surrounding sitting on the trunk there.

After sometimes she felt a weird a sensation.As if someone was seeing or checking her.She checked her surrounding but nobody was there.But yet she was feeling something is not right.A few moment ago the forest still had some noise.But now everything was deadly silent.As if she can hear the blood flow in her own vein.Suddenly a bunch of bird flew away above her head.The birds that were sitting in that tree,she was sitting.She can feel that something was going to happen.She gripped her spear hard.Her sensation was proved right when she heard a loud roar.

A tiger!!!Real tiger…

It was coming toward her.Any moment it could jump on her.She was at a loss for a moment.She threw the spear to the direction of tiger.But it easily dodged her target.It came running toward her as if it targeted Cassandra as its prey.It wanted to hunt her.

Cassandra started sweating with fear.What should she now?She is not very professional of using bow and arrow.As long she will set the bow in the arrow,it would bent her neck.She started running.But it was also not the best option.As tiger is one of the fastest hunter animal of wild life.A normal human can’t ever win in running with a tiger.

Cassandra was running with all her effort.But she is competing with a tiger.The tiger almost catched her.Her leg tripped with the branch of a tree as the forest was rich with dense tree.She fell on the ground on her back.She tried to get up.But her leg got stuck with the branches.She tried to free her leg from the branches.But couldn’t. Her breath was uneven.The tiger was almost close to her.It was now preparing to jump on her.May be in this new world,she couldn’t make it.Again she was going to face the same situation.

She closed her eyes.As if she was thinking if she closed her eyes the tiger would disappear.Her heart was beating very faster.

Finally she could feel the weight of the tiger above her body.May be again it is the end…..
