Amnesia - Chapter 42

She was waiting to be ripped apart by the tiger.

One second

Two second

Three second…

But to her great surprise,nothing happened.She opened her eyes and checked the tiger was motionless on her body.She was greatly surprised.What happened!She should be ripped by the tiger now.

She pushed the tiger from her body.She saw a spear was stabbed on its back.May be it is dead now.Who killed the tiger!!Strange….

She stared in her front direction.Due to nervousness she almost forgot about her surroundings.

She saw a man was standing in front of him.His face was covered by a piece of cloth.Only a pair of grey eyes are showing.She tried to remember this gaze is very familiar to her.May be she experienced this dominating gaze before.His hair was jet black.He was wearing a sleeveless dress and loose trouser.The neck of the dress was open at the chest of the dress.His beautiful hairless muscular chest was revealed.He had a silver chain swinging from his neck.Sunshine was falling on his exposed skin sparking like a bronze metal.She was very surprised.From his appearance he didn’t look like he belongs to this place.

“Who are you?” She asked him.While talking to him she understood that her voice was cracked.

The man smiled.Though his face is covered,she could still feel it.

“Roaming in this dangerous forest,without experience is not good.Specially for a beautiful woman like you….Except these deadly beasts,there are many dangerous hunters,who look exactly human but inside they are worse than a beast.You should be careful,Cassandra…”

For a second,she was lost by his deep husky male voice.Then she remembered,he mentioned her name.How he would know her name.That’s strange…

“How did you know my name?Who are you exactly?” Cassandra was very astonished.She is now in a fantasy world.Nobody is familiar to her.Then how he could know her name!!

“Cassandra is a very beautiful name..You know..” The man pulled out the spear from the body of the tiger.He gave it to her.

“Hold it.You need to learn self defence.Not everytime I will come to save you.” He said to her.His eyes were not dominating like before.It was now showing care as if he really cared for her.

“You didn’t answer my question.How did you know my name?Why did you help me?” Cassandra was feeling restless.Always the things are like mystery in front of her.She tried to solve but never can solve.

“Sometimes you need to find the answer on your own.Not always the fate will give you the right answer.” The man stared at her warm brown eyes.

She stared at him.He is right!She always depended on fate.

Her concentration was broken by hearing someone calling her name…

“Cassandra…” Granny is calling her.

“Granny..” Cassandra mumbled.

She saw her coming toward her direction with two rabbit.May be she hunted them for today’s meal.

“Why are you here?I told you to wait there.I was searching for you for a long time.Finally found you here.” She said.

“Actually granny..A tiger….” Her words were cut by the scream of granny.

“Oh my god!!!Tiger….Did it hurt you?” Granny shouted pointing toward the dead tiger.She hurriedly checked Cassandra if she had any wound in her body.

“I am alright granny.Nothing happened to me.Don’t worry!” Cassandra tried to smile.Though she is in a huge shock due to what happened back then.

“I am sorry my child.I shouldn’t leave you there.You could be killed.I should be more careful…” She said in a breath.She was feeling very guilty leaving her alone here.

“It’s okay granny.Nothing happened.It is already dead.” She said.

“Who killed it?” Granny stared at her with suspicion as if she couldn’t trust she could kill it her own.

“A young man!” saying this she almost forgot that the man was standing with her.But when she turned back to point at him,she was stunned.The man was there a moment ago,now he disappeared.

“He was there a few moment ago.His face was covered with

a piece of cloth.His height is very tall.” Cassandra showed her the height by her hand.She is quite tall but the man was much taller than her.

“That tall?Face covered with clothes….” Granny tried to remember who has this appearance in their village!!!

“He had grey eyes,granny.” She also added.

“Grey eyes!Did you remember correctly?” Granny narrowed her eyes.

“Yes.I remember correctly.” Cassandra said.

“But child,there is no one such as you are describing.We all have brown eyes.I have never seen someone with grey eyes in between us.” Granny said.

“But I correctly remembered.He had…” Cassandra was very confused.

“Maybe you were dreaming.”

“No..there is a dead tiger lying in front of us.If it was a dream,how it could be dead.” Cassandra tried to explain the fact.

Granny sighed a long breath.

“May be then he is an outsider.He is not from this village.Did he mentioned his name to you?” Granny asked.Rarely the strangers visited their village.All are scared to come here due to those cursed monsters.

“No…He didn’t.” Cassandra said to her.The man was unwilling to mention his identity.Even he knew her name.That was very strange.

“Oh..lets go.” Both of them left for grannys house.It is not a good sign for the villagers.A foriegn strangers that’s mean there are two possibilities.

Either misery or blessing!!

Misery means he came to assist those cursed monsters.

Blessing means he came as a savior.He came here to help their last hope who can free the villagers from those cursed creatures.

The last hope of them was Cassandra….

Granny held her breath for a second.She knew the purpose of coming Cassandra here.
