Amoral Village Head - Chapter 36 The YosduStarts

Yosdu is the period in which the the flowers and leaves of the Ilphyr trees wilt and drop.

It is also the period where the Lhasa grow and  ripe in less and less quantities. Tulga told me the village had faced severe food shortage during the period and most people had to go hungry eating only on alternate days or even worse.

Even with all these problems the one the villagers dread the most is the zukr menace. The zukr vine thrives in these period growing strong and vigorous quickly to consume the Ilphyr trees.

Village head called all the villagers to assemble near his hut. Once everyone gathered he started talking

” I don’t have to tell you what to do as i have repeated myself year after year during yosdu. But for some thick heads here to get in their heads, I will repeat myself again. Except few people in our village i have already permitted, all others should work in the orchard.

Anybody having gift that will help in cutting down the zukr should use their gift everyday only on that activity. Anybody who notices a zukr vine on the verge of consuming the ilphyr tree should immediately come to me and tell me its location.

Don’t compare with  previous yosdu to determine vines growth. Every bloom  during yosdu zukr vines become a little more menacing than the previous period.

You know what will happen if we continue losing even more Ilphyr trees every bloom. Ilphyr trees are our lifeline so protect them diligently.

That said this bloom we have received a boon from light crystal in the form of gans gift. So, dont worry about Lhasa, worry only about protecting the Ilphyr trees. ”

Though i know regarding yosdu from tulga i was suprised by how serious they are taking it. But, I couldn’t stop a little smirk from appearing on my face when the old head mentioned my gift.
