Amoral Village Head - Chapter 56 The Res
I got up from the ground only to wobble unsteadily. I stopped moving and took a moment to gather myself. My thoughts looked muddled, like i was drunken with alochol and instead of passing out completely had woken up in the middle of the night with a pounding headache.
I decided to see the old head before doing anything. Before I turned to go, I did look at the tree to see how much i was able to grow it.The tree didn’t even have half of its foliage and less than a third of the fruits I usually grew with my gift. I tuned back disappointed.
I was sitting in the old head’s house and describing what happened when i used my gift today. The old head had a hand on my shoulders and was healing me.I felt a little better and the pain in the body went away, but my head still felt muddled.
Once he finished he patted my shoulders and asked me to take rest. I didn’t think i had the strength to walk back all the way to the orchard. So, i turned towards my hut to sleep for the night.
I opened my eyes feeling a little better the next day. I quickly remembered that I had to go to the orchard and cleaned myself in a hurry using the water i took from the well.
My hunger let its presence known with loud growl and i ate as much Lhasa and Phir i can from my stockpile.I greedily broke open and drank the liquid inside the Nectr fruits.
Once my stomach was full, I remembered that i am yet to get a Charpoy for myself. If I had one yesterday, i would have slept near the tree itself instead of taking a step more.I also remembered to stock as much fruits as i can in my pockets and took a small clay pot filled with them as well.
I walked in to the village and asked for Buld. I found his hut on the opposite side of Tuya’s facing the crystal tree .
I went in and found him sitting on the ground surrounded by a pile of leaves tied together using a sheet made of the same material as the acadia’s.Buld is a fair man with an average height and a long black hair . He looked to be middle aged and had a thin build which would get lifted off the ground by a strong wind.
When i looked inside he had thick green threads tied around his hand like a spindle and was weaving them from one end of a hollow rectangular wooden board to another. On hearing my voice he turned back to look at me.
When i told him i had come to buy a Charpoy, he took me to a place near the orchard adjacent to Tuya’s and showed me the ones he had already finished.
The Charpoys were made with a thick wooden boards surrounding it in a rectangular shape and had thick chords woven on it both horizontally and vertically. The horizontal weaving was done tightly and looked completely smooth in the middle allowing one to sleep without pain.
Unlike the ones on earth they didn’t have any wooden stands and were supposed to be placed in the ground. I selected one randomly and push it with my hand. It look my weight and pressure without bending. We then started bartering for it.
