- Volume 1 Chapter 85 Sailing To Trouble. Or Rather Flying Into It.
Gray and company were in the Captain’s cabin. Discussing trouble regarding a group of sh.i.p.s that never returned. With everything going on, it sort of slipped the cracks. The League had fired several people as a scapegoat. Kicking it up to the Elite League to look into it.
The Captain had to take care of things and explain to the passengers why the slight detour. The co-captain was showing an outline of the location on a map to everyone. A few Rescue Officers were wary. Even more so with them still fatigued from overworking.
“I know this place like the back of my hand!” Tristan a middle-age man said. He pointed at a rock formation disgusted. “These do not belong there. In fact, the waters should be completely clear.” His team behind nodding the same way. “The rock even have symbols on them from the ancient language. Never a good sign.”
Tristan was a fairly built man that specialized in Archaeology. Over the years, it constantly brought him and his team across dangerous situations. So, they took the test to become Auxillary Rescue Officers.
“Ralph, we need more then just us. I am not risking our lives on another strange phenomnon..” A woman by the name of Carrie said. Next to her, was someone Gray knew of. The Gym Leader Falkner of the Johto League. He married and retired to travel. His wife however, did anything but retire. “I say wait a few days for us to recover and meet up with other teams.”
Falkner & Carrie both had the typical Rescue outfit. But with a little more protection due to Flying type pokemon usage. Clothed and geared up, the two could be twins. Both had blue hair, blue eyes, and had bangs covering an eye. Just the opposite of the other. Carrie had a scar across her nose to help at least. Her body was devoid of feminine charm. And Falkner’s body was devoid of any masculine charm.
‘They both need to eat more. String beans.’ Gray thought to himself. ‘Must help with flying to weigh less or something.’ Seeing he was preoccupied, Sabrina pinched his side to get his attention. “Oww, why?”
“What do you think? From the info from Neo Cerulean, this is the last place Misty went to before her transponder went out. Not to mention June is also with her.” Sabrina said a little troubled. The information she obtained from her visit was anything but simple. ‘With the connection of them somewhere near this place and other factors, he will not pass this up.’
“I am gonna go .. because.. I just am.” Gray shrugged. It didn’t help he received a Quest to head to the location no matter what. As well as it canceling several other quests he had. ‘Guess I forget about the Arceus agent that arrived on the ship. Or I let someone else handle it. It would be a good test for them.’ Tapping his pokegear he sent the message while looking at the one he received recently.
(Head to HeartGold island. Mandatory.)
“We should coordinate togethor at the very least.” The Co-Captain said. “I still have to think of the safety of the passengers. The Captain told them we will be a few miles out from the zone before anything else. A few days we will wait and decide from there.”
Gray left with his team following him. Falkner was suprised to see Silver and made a note to talk with him later. His wife was looking at Clair strangely. Both gave each a look, communicating silently before paying attention to the discussion.

– Aft of the Ship-
.
Gray had changed into some clothes that were a little to tight. But they provided a little more time in Pokefusion state. Which he was going to need the way things are going. Pyron was across on the railing looking at him.
“Listen, this might be dangerous. Actually it will be. We still are not how we were before the dungeon, but I need your help in this. Our fused state will save a lot more on aura usage then me flying there myself.” Gray said neutrally. He never blinked while staring into his Pokemon’s eyes. “Are you up for it?”
“You can count on me dude!” Pyron folded his right-wing doing a salute to his chest. “Faster we get this done, the faster we can meet up with everyone. Soon we will have a full nest again.”
“Aye, Pokefusion!” Gray and Pyron touched and fused. Besides a few feathers around the face and wings, Gray was very human-looking. “The most amount we can save. But good enough for flying straight lines and breaking.” The feathers on his face twitched.
“Is this wise Gray?” Silver asked thoughtfully. “I mean if contact is unable to be secured and no help arives..”
“Then I die maybe. Death is not that scary. You have fused with a ghost type Pokemon, you should understand things more.” Gray looked over his PokeGear and checked for anything. “Nothing but a weak signal at 1%. At most, I may be able to send a message out when landing. A better understanding of the situation will be the best course of action.”
“Gray!” Sabrina yelled coming over. She looked distressed. “Ori came back, she fainted but left one message. The island has turned into a dungeon. The rocks are a gateway of sorts. But the thing inside is.. well it is not right. She cannot remember why the change but the place use to be Sacred Ground.”
‘A small opening has been made for we can enter no problem.’ Empress transmitted as she floated. ‘I am doing the best I can to get the information from her. But she is exhausted.’
“Ok.” Gray grabbed the railing and was about to take flight when someone else called.
“Wait! You cannot go alone. Another team will arrive in four days.” Falkner said. A few other Rescue people were behind him. Gray jumped off the railing and was about to shoot off. “Stop!”
“Vrip!” One of the Rescue officers threw a line around Gray’s leg and pulled him back.
“What the hell are you doing!?” Crystal yelled. Silver froze not understanding what was going on for a second. “Let him go!”
“Confusion!” gray and Sabrina said at the exact sme time. Instantly psychic might broke the man’s legs and arms.
“Attacking another team, how dirty!” Clair stepped forward and hit them all with her aura. “Dragon Rage!” Black blue aura blasted them each across the deck. The damage was minimal but each of them felt a snufling pain.
“Go ahead and go Gray, we will find out what is going on here.” Abigail said. Gray flew off not wasting any more strength. “Attacking him was the wrong move, should be happy that you didn’t die.” Already pulling out cuffs she was ready to arrest them.
“Wait!” Falkner yelled. “It was a mistake on his part. We only wanted to talk with Gray!” He turned to look at the one that attacked. “I do not even know this man. Met him in the meeting like everyone else.”
“That’s right. He is not part of our team.” Another cried out indignant.
“Where is your wife?” Silver asked looking around. He did not spot the woman but felt her shoot off up above from the upper deck. “What the hell is she playing at?!”
“I do not know!” Falkner had no idea what was going through her mind. “I need to stop her before she gets to close!”
“Disable!” Sabrina said coldly. Falkner’s body went limp as he was held in place. In his breathing almost stopped. Sabrina’s eyes were glowing purple dangerously. “You think we are just gonna take your word for it? Fat chance!”

-Gray outskirts of the rock-
.
“Someone is following me still. They are actually gaining slowly.” Gray didn’t turn around as he flew a little closer over the water. His senses went out not detecting any pokemon underwater. “That is just weird.”
A burst of aura behind let him know the person had pushed themselves even harder to catch up. Exhausting themselves to catch did not bode well. That determination meant something else was at work.
“You cannot escape me!” Carrie yelled angrily. Her tone was a little weird. “Agility!” With another boost of spped, She was 24 feet from Gray above.
“Buzz off lady. I have things to do.” gray didnt look at her but the outlook of her shadow begged a strange question. ‘That looks more Pokemon than anything.’ Seeing the shadow move weirdly, Gray banked off to the left.
“Dush!” A wing struck the water surface. Gray spared a look and could tell what pokemon she was. A Noctowl fusion. The dark brown feathers glowing as it grew a little. Each use of the aura was turning her more Pokemon.
‘Almost there!’ Gray spotted the rock formation that didn’t belong. The strange power was foreign even to him. ‘Ancient but it does belong here. Slip in the dimensions to the dungeon. or done by whatever Pokemon did this.’
“You will not escape the Lord’s Judgement!” Carrie screeched. The sonic waves hit Gray causing his Defense to drop a little. Considering he continued to ignore her and did not plan on fighting, made Carrie upset even furthur. ‘I need to stop him at all costs. He most, not interfere!’
“Woom!” The feathers started to shine and then the wings. The light was extremely harsh as Carrie used Sky Attack.
‘Sigh, what a troublesome woman.’ Gray sped up a little and waited till she was about to hit him. ‘Now!’
“Flap!” Gray folded his wings and book to the right past one of the rocks.
“Bang!” Carrie smashed right into breaking it in half. She came out on the other side tumbling across the water. Recovering, she flapped and was airborne once again. Body recovering rapidly as her aura burned brightly.
“Ahhhhh!” Her roar of anger sending ripples through the area. Seeing Gray blatantly ignore her still caused her consciousness to disappear entirely. A blessing appeared on her forehead. The gold headdress of Noctowl turned gold like that of Arceus.
“Carrie stop!” Falkner yelled. He was flying up with Sabrina right next to him. Abigal’s Rescue machine traveling full speed in the water. “What happened to you!?”
Sabrina felt the weird energy and was reminded of Viridian Forest, and the Aura Gray said to be mindful of. Empress inside him still trying to get information from Ori.
“Get away!” A bit of clarity passed in her eyes when seeing her husband. it did not last as Arceus Blessing flared up. Turning her head, Carrie fired a Moonblast towards Gray. “Baaahhh!”
“Peeww!” The beam shot through the area as Gray dipped around the rocks for cover. Not stopping his movement once, he was right at the entrance Ori marked. Carrie’s attack destroyed multiple rock formations. The area covered in dust and waves.
Gray disappeared and popped out on the otherside.
“At least he didn’t attack her.” Silver said from inside the submersible. The rough waves had them dive under water. “Is this a good idea. Leaving Sabrina to deal to the crazy lady with Falkner?”
“It was her orders. Now hang on tight.’ Abigail pushed a red button and the submersible sped forward. Her skill was very high. She dodged the falling rocks and could see the breach. “Almost there!”
“Ping!” Something was following them underwater. It was large and moved extremely fast. As soon as they moved through, so did it.

-Heartgold Island-
.
Gray defused and changed his clothes as he walked from the water onto the shore. Pyron was resting in his pokeball. Turning back, gray could see it ripple. The others would make it through it seemed.
The island was normal. People could be seen walking on the roads and going on about everyday activities. with a quick feel, Gray was able to feel June’s aura and Misty. They were heading his way but not hurrying.
‘Ok.. so what the hell. and why does the life signs of these people feel odd?’ Gray finished walking on sure and was able to tell one other odd thing. ‘The technology here is outdated. Wait that is not right. It is just off. Not high level technology.’ trying to access his pokegear prove difficult. For it was missing. ‘Good thing I can still use the Blue bubbles. Cannot I get a message out quick enough?’

“Well that bites.” gray turned to the water and spotted Sabrina fly in. The others appeared on a boat instead of the submersible. “Oh, that is just weird.”
