An adult in Pokemon - Chapter 52 Neo Cerulean City
“Beep, beep,” Sabrina’s watch went off. “Excuse me.” She opened the interface and read the message silently. A few minutes later she finished. “Ok, I have to leave tomorrow guys. My Grandpa needs help back home.” She looked at Gray. “It is nothing bad ok? If something bad happens you will know. I will find you two in another month or so.”
“Hmm, everyone is leaving? How odd.” Gray said in a mumble. “No, it is life. Everything is ok, so I will trust that. If you need help, dont just rely on the psychic impression. Call damn it. If not me call June.”
“You got it.” Sabrina nodded. Then she paused for a bit after looking at Espeon and Midnight. “Gray, can I take Midnight with me? My Grandpa has dark pokemon and can help train him some.”
“Sure.” Gray nodded. “I would not dream of separating him from your Espeon. Here is his pokeball. Take good care of him.” Gray gave her a smile as he looked at the bubble that appeared.
(Leave a trusted Pokemon with Sabrina. Increases trigger for danger or extreme joy vision. Increases growth in Pokemon.)
“You ok with that Gray?” June asked surprised. She became nervous for some reason. “That will leave just us.”
“Yeah, I am. How about you? Your getting left with the big bad wolf.” Gray chuckled. “Hehe, should be fun. I can train you more. In Pokemon that is. While you share your notes.”
“Right.” June looked at Sabrina who smiled agreeing.
“Develop a safe word for his behavior,” Sabrina said getting up. “I am gonna go for a walk right quick with Espeon and Ori.” The trio left with Midnight following in tow.
“Thunk,” the door closed softly.
“Cucumber,” June said getting up.
“What?” Gray asked puzzled. “I hate cucumbers.”
“I know. Thats my safe word.” June walked into one of the rooms.
“That is.. yeah makes sense.” Gray looked at his Pokemon. “Go for it Growlithe.” The pokemon jumped on the table and looked at Gray.
“Well, with Midnight gone, I guess I will have to fight harder.”
“Maybe, but remember,” Gray said releasing Titan the Nidoran out of him. “I need to train him. So a new battle partner for you. Also have Pyron, Gale, and Empress.”
“Oooh yeah, cant wait. You should get another Pokemon for us to fight with. A water type.” Growlithe put his head on the table and rolled it. “No. Get a Rock-type. Something I am weak against for me to fight with and against.”
“Heh, we should reach the next town by tomorrow evening. The gym is there. We can go and scope it out first. Or we can go around the town to see the sights and possibly catch a new Pokemon. What do you all think?” Gray looked at Growlithe then to Clyde. The others are resting so I won’t interrupt them. As for you Titan.”
“Nido?” Yeah. Titan asked.
“Ni Nido!” You bet! Titan said happily.
Growlithe smiled next to him. He could feel the power in the little pokemon. He would be a dangerous contender soon as he matures. ‘I have to press my strength. I will have to get Gray into life or death battles.’ He looked at Empress hanging from his neck. ‘Why is she so happy? Why is she so strong?!’ He stared intently. ‘She is growing by the second.’
“I guess I can order a pokemon online from the store. And we can catch one in the wild while we are at it.” Gray said getting up. “Let’s head to bed for an early rise.”
-Next morning around noon.-
“So just us two,” June said looking at Gray who was all smiles. “You aren’t upset at all are you?”
“Nope. Jackie said she is fine and hanging out with her folks. Sabrina is with her grandpa, training. You are here with me and our Pokemon. So we get to talk all day, study pokemon as well as whatever else we can do.” Gray said naming them off one by one. “Should I be?”
“Hmm guess not,” June said while biting on a pen. “But still.. ep!” She turned to find Gray right behind her. He was holding her as he pulled her under a tree. “Whh wha what are you doing?”
“Coping a feel.” Gray grinned. “Jokes aside. Being serious, pulling you out of the sun to talk. I just rather hold you while doing so. Problem?”
“Um, no,” June said looking down. They both sat under the tree looking out. “So we are going to battle the Gym Leader here, then do a little work in the area. You also want to check out the new cave for fossils?”
“Correct to all of the above,” Gray said as he looked over her shoulder. “A little bit of battling for you is needed. Dont want you getting rusty. Especially with the future you saw. Pretty sure there will be a lot if fighting.” He couldn’t stop the smile from forming. “I cant wait. Well for the fighting part.”
“I can tell your excitied,” June said shaking her hips. “Your poking my lower back.” She half-turned and gave Gray a kiss. Her hands already grabbing his tightly to keep him from moving them. “You taste so sweet, everytime.”
“Thanks. Glad you approve.” Gray moved in and bit her neck. He toyed and nibbled with her skin enough to leave a hickey. “There, now Pokemon and people both know you are a claimed woman.”
“You.. are a jerk. We have to take it slow. Especially if the others are away. I want to compete fairly.” June said but she was thinking of something else. ‘Chroma what do I do? I have not dated since forever.’
‘Pft nothing. Take what you want you stuffy woman. You keep this up and the others will be back before you get anywhere.’ Chroma then closed her eyes and went to sleep in the grass. The sun strengthening her. Making her leaves healthier.
“Nido.. nidoran.” Sweet smell. Titan sniffed around Chroma and then stopped right in front of her. He put his head down and went to sleep. His special ability boosting the aura energy she received.
‘Oh, that’s nice.’ Chroma thought as she dropped her head leaf around the little Pokemon causing the aura energy to increase. ‘Oh, this will spoil me rotten. Ori will be surprised about this.’
“June, relax. Before the vision, you did this easily with me.” Gray said pulling back.
“But so much is on the line now,” June grumbled. “I dont want to mess anything up.”
“You will if you dont relax. That was a far off vision. Years in the making. You dont know what will happen..” His Poke Gear vibrated then went off.
“Vrrm, vrrm, beep, beep.”
“Ah, my Pokegear is going off, hold on just a second.” Gray checked it, and clicked the messages. “The Pokemon I ordered is ready. The one for you as well.”
“Oh, I did the same.” June smiled after coming to. She hit her Pokegear and turned it on. “I rather just do the delivery now. I can pay the fee if we both agree for the delivery all togethor.” Gray nodded. “Right.”
“Swoosh,” A Mr.Mime teleported in. It looked at June and Gray and pulled out a little device that scanned them. “Mr.Mime.” He tilted his hat and handed the Pokeballs over.
“This one is mine. That one is for you.” Gray said as he took the bag that had his name on it.
June reached in the bag and pulled out a pokeball. “This one is for you. I think you will like the Pokemon I got you.” June said. “I want to see what you got me so hold on.” She dropped the Ultra ball. “Come on out.”
“Ralts!” The little Pokemon floated out. It looked around and saw Gray who smiled and pointed at June. “Ralts?” She tilted her head and looked to June. “Swoosh,” it disappeared and landed on her shoulder. “Ralts.” It hugged her and feel asleep.
“So docile but it feels strong,” June said. She then released the first Pokemon she bought herself. “Let’s meet the next one.”
“Aaron.” The little Pokemon appeared from the heavy ball and made a dent in the ground. It moved to her foot and rested. It just nudged her a little.
“So heavy. Last but not least. Go.” The Black and white ball spun and released. “It was expensive but I had to do it.”
“Nidoran!” It was a female Nidoran. It looked at Gray and tackled him. “Nido, Nido.”
“Umm June, for her safety you may want to return her. Before Empress loses her cool.” Gray said wryly. ‘Easy now. It is just my scent and the fact Titan was always resting inside.’
‘Mmm ok.’ Empress grumbled. She was feeling a little down that Sabrina left. Which Gray found weird.
“Right. Come back, Gaia.” The black/white pokeball spun and the pokemon was returned. The Pokeball then spun and shrunk. It clipped around June’s neck. “I thought since you had a Nidoran it would be good to have one to. Seems silly now that I think about it.” She looked down embarrassed. “I bought it in the heat of the moment and..”
“Not silly at all. Dont overthink it.” Gray wrapped her in a hug. “I think when it becomes a Nidoqueen and Titan becomes a Nidoking, we can have a great battle.”
“Right.. a great battle. Is that all you are thinking?” June said smirking.
“Heck no. But I won’t say that.” Gray shrugged. “I also know a great place I can take you to in the future that has a bunch of Pokemon that you would like. I think anyway.”
“Right.” June smiled. “Send the one I gave you out last.”

Gray nodded and shrugged. He then released the Pokemon he purchased. “Obedience ball do your thing.” He set the Pokemon lose.
“Totodile!” A blue and yellow Totodile came out. The standard red fin was a dark yellow instead. It was a mutated one with an unruly personality. Thus the purchase of the Obedience ball to reign it in.
“Bzzt, bzzt,” electricity sparked off its tail and spine spikes. The little gator smacked its feet on the ground making sparks fly. Gray could swear if it had a cigarette it would be smoking.
“Yup your name is gonna be Godzilla. Because.. hell yeah.” Gray said looking at it. “Put it there pal.” He reached his hand out to give it a shake. “I have to teach you a really great breath attack.”
“Totodile..” The pokemon walked over and reached its hand out. A sharp gleam in its eye. Totodile pulled it’s hand away before they could shake and bit him instead.
“Crunch!” It bit down hard.
“Ah! Gray you ok?” June asked. She freaked for a minute. “It’s a little psycho!”
“It’s ok.” Gray said turning to smile at her. “Dark Pulse!”
“Boom,” the Totodile’s mouth blew open as it went flying into a tree. “Yeah, I am just gonna beat the living shit out him real quick. Dont worry, it will be fine. certain Pokemon have to be taught a lesson first. This little guy was wanted in Johto for massive property damage. They didn’t arrest him till a dam blew up.” As Gray was walking over he used some news things he wanted to try out. “Sword’s Dance.”
“Fwoom, fwoom,” two swords made of aura and psychic energy appeared. Gripping them tightly Gray could feel his combat abilities rise. However, he felt a sense of unease. This would take a while to understand and master.
“Whoo, taxing but nice.” Gray looked up just in time to see the little Pokemon running at him. He waited till it’s tail came down glowing in Electricity and Water aura. “Hmph,” showing it disregard he teleported.
“Toto?” The little Pokemon looked surprised as it hit the ground. He looked left in right in quick succession looking for Gray. “Totodile!” It growled in frustration and looked to June.
“I won’t help you. Your a little too rude for my liking. Hmph!” June looked away. She did however, peeked her eye out a little at the Pokemon. It had its head down. She almost felt bad for it. Almost, as tears came down. “Fake Tears won’t work on me.”
“Totodile.” The little Pokemon looked down sad. It turned just as Gray was staring down at it. “Toto.. dile…”
“Hi pal, Solar Beamx2.” Gray’s voice came out chillingly as he pointed the two swords at it. They turned to beams of light and blasted the Pokemon.
“Boom, boom,” Totodile flew across the dirt.
“Woah.. geez Gray,” June said watching. Chroma and Titan walked over and sat near her. June looked down at them, ‘well what do you think Chroma?’
‘Eh, they are both violent so there is that. That little Pokemon needs to be broken in. Unlike Growlithe, it is just doing it for fun.’ Chroma looked on intently. ‘I say they should have killed it. It’s a dangerous one, that has eaten a person before.’
‘Eh, how do you know?’ June asked in wonder.
‘I forcibly read its mind. Duh.’ Chroma said slightly bored. ‘What, it used Crunch it’s hand. Just because poachers ate its siblings doesn’t give it the right to do massive property damage and almost killing an entire town. Then again, sounds like something Gray would do.’
“Oh, dear,” June said a little amazed. She looked up right as the little fight finished. “Oh, it’s over.”
“Boom!” Gray had used Dark Pulse and pinned the POkemon down with his pressure. The rocks near it were pulverized. “To.. to.. ile.” I give up. Godzilla said tiredly.
“Good.” Gray walked over and put his hands on the little POkemon. His aura washed over it and he watched as his own power increase. “Done.” The bubbles appeared giving him the updates.
(Quest Completed: Purchase a mistreated Pokemon and get it to obey. Unlock Pokemon Rescuer. 3 stat points to distribute.)
(Blessing of Mewtwo conditions have been filled. Aura increased by 2 Psychic increased by 2.)
(Pokemon Rescuer class unlocked. Mistreated Pokemon can now be sent to the dungeon in better conditions. Elite Trainer status updated. New jobs available.)
“Woah!” Godzilla popped up and looked around. “My head doesn’t hurt. I can talk? Woah?” The little Totodile started rolling around all over the ground. It then looked at Gray. It stared at him a little angry but also a little happy. “So… you help some Pokemon but also hurt the bad ones along with humans?”
“Correct.” Gray nodded. “That is my design.” His voice was laced with another tone that causes Chroma, and Empress to shiver happily. “It is not my main focus unless I am alerted. However, I will do it every now and then. I am on the Elite Trainer challenges. Right now, we are on our way to the next city for sightseeing and training.”
“Eh, didnt know you were a Pokemon Rescuer Gray?” June asked as she received the notification on her Poke Gear. “The notice went out already. So thats great for you. It means you qualify for the high-end stuff. I heard the trials were tough.”
“Hmm, yeah. I finished the paperwork the other day when I went to.. the nevermind.” Gray realized it was useless prattle. The finally trials were down with the bubbles. It asked him all the questions and this quest just finished it off. He has all the information in his head for the most part.
“Ok.” Godzilla nodded. “I will help and fight.” It nodded it’s head aggressively at the idea of helping pokemon.
“So June..” What’s in this Pokeball?” Gray asked walking up to her. “You bought it for me, I have no idea what you would get me.”
“Well, you see..” June fumbled a little. “I think you might like it. Maybe not… Maybe we should just go to Neo Cerluean City first.”
