- Chapter 72 Theunder Badge Part 2 ... Zapdos what a thing...
The tail formed first and moved around as if it was alive. From head to toe Gray exuded psychic power. Over his head was a mask that resembled an Alakazam. Black hair extended down his back. On his chest was a type of armor that shine with a black gloss. A single blue line went across his chest. His fingers were covered in a thin carapace. The same material Kadabra was made of.
“Dooom!” Raw psychic energy passed over the entire Gym. It was mixed with the ability Pressure. “Voom!” With a little push, Gray floated a little above the ground. As for Empress, she relaxed inside Gray and just enjoyed the fusion process. Wrapped completely around Gray’s power made her to happy to move.
“Do not disappoint me this time.” Gray voice came out different. Deeper but soothing at the same time. “Give it your all. Ok Hilda?” More memories of his other self moved to the forefront. The fusion coming more and more intensely. ‘Ah, Azreali it wont be long I promise.’ Stopping the wishful thoughts he focused on his opponent.
“This.. this is.. to dangerous.” Captain Surge said from the side. “That power is just the tip of the iceberg.”
“It is my fight. As well as an Elite one mother. The penalty for interfering… you cannot deal with it.” Hilda gave her mother a cold glare and stepped forward. “Thank you Gray. This will be perfect for me.”
“Ummm.. tra..trainer.. trainers are you ready?” The aide asked. They both nodded at her. “Then begin!”
“Thunderbolt!” Hilda placed her hand in front of her, instantly a white ball of light fired out several arcs of electricity.
“Fair power.” Gray said. He raised his finger and stopped the lighting in it’s path. The spectators and Mrs.Surge stared in shock. Gray had used Confusion stopping the lighting in place. With his other hand, he wrapped pressure around Hilda. She couldn’t move at all. He did allow her to breathe. “You are stronger than this. I can feel it.”
“Ugghh!” Hilda tried to force her self to move. Nothing happened. ‘He has changed!’
With a wave of his finger, the arura returned to Hilda. Her attack immediately stopped. With a clutch of his hand, Hilda state retreated a bit. None of her aura leaked out. Gray moved over and touched the side of her face. A dark aura went into her. Gray passed a small portion of Black Gate into her. That of Wrath Specifically.
“Better.” Gray gaze her a smile, that caused Hilda to not flush in arousal. But that of glee as information poured into her head. She returned a smile of her own. A little dark aura playing in her eyes. “Better.” Gray stepped back as he felt the growing power between the two. ‘She can be trusted. You were right Empress.’
‘Yup! An ally for us!’ Empress said happily. ‘More to keep your power under control and to increase it as well. We need more agents.’
“Bzztt!” The energy that circled her as she dashed at Gray. Swinging her tail she missed by a slight margin.
“Bwoom!” Gray had diverted the attack with a slight bit of psychic energy. “Bwoom, bwoom, bwoom!” Three more swings were deflected. A quick two jab, then a headbutt. Those were the easy ones to get out of the way from. The more attacks she did, the faster her tail gathered power when she missed.
“Hmph!” Gray grunted and fired a psychic blast. A wave of dark purple energy condensed into a ring before turning unfocused with to much power. The unfocused energy smashed fast into Hilda, it sent her hurtling back across the arena.
“Fwoosh!” A quick energy built up and dispersed.
“Thump!” She slid then bounced up. With a little, effort she tried to stop herself. “Wham!” Her hand smacked against the ground as she tried to kill the momentum. It didn’t work that easy. She then aprubtly stopped.
“Huh?!” Hilda asked shocked. She looked to see Gray had stopped her with his finger wrapped in psychic energy. While she bounced he telported behind her. “Ughh!” Hilda then released the energy inside her. She used the move Discharge instantly.
“Bzzttt!” All her energy smashed against Gray. A blinding light engulfed the whole arena. Her attack smashed against the surroundings turning it flat. All the rods were destroyed, and the area became devoid of any aura.
“Ha.. ha..” Hilda breathe heavily when everything was cleared. “I cant continue.”
“Voom, voom.” A sphere of aura energy had encompassed Gray. It shifted then dispersed as he retracted his transformation. His eyes flashed in an intense Gray before returning to normal.
“You will get the hange of it soon enough.” Gray said calmly. He offered his hand to help her up. “I think so at least.” Hilda grabbed hold on wobbly legs agreeing. “You are like a baby learning to walk again hahahaha.” Gray laughed at her state.
“Umm shut up!” Hilda grumbled. Her cheeks had a slight flush at the thought. “Just give me a minute.” She then fell on her butt again. “Ouch, give me an hour.”
“The winner is Gray!” Captain Surge said. “That was quite a one sided fight. You have some training to do daughter. But you are over your hump I take it?” Hilda just nodded instead of argueing. ‘She really is tried if she is not putting up a fight. Then again, what did he do to her?’
“I think she will do fine soon.” Gray said. “I will come back later for my badges. Hopefully they are made by then.” Looking at Captain Surge, he smiled at her concerned look for her daughter. ‘Tough love or overly cautous. Mothers are so weird.’
“Of course Gray. I will call you when they are ready. Are you gonna stay to talk with Tricia? She should be back from the Power plant soon.” Hilda said from the floot. “Then again she only went for a little check she said.” Hilda checked her Pokegear for a bit. “Oh.. she found a Zapdos.”
“What?!” Gray looked alarmed. “Which power plant is she at?!” Hilda just turned her screen over to him. The agitated look let her know he meaned business. Gray saw the screen and then teleported out.
“Fwoosh!” Both he and his Pokemon on the sidelines left. Leaving a very dazed Captain Surge. Hilda just sat recovering. When Gray left, she laid on the ground and sent her sister a message to be careful of Zapdos.
“Your father is around there as well. I will send him a message to look out for it.” Captain Surge typed away and had an aide start calling people at the power plant. “But Zapdos is usually neutral around people. What could have happened?”
“Knowing Gray… he might have jumped to conclusions. Or.. Zapdos tried to do something he didnt like.” Hilda said. She was still having trouble getting herself under control. “It feels so liberating. So free.” Hilda had her arm over her head taking small breaths. “He tends to let his emotions control him when he is injured.”
“Eh?” Captain Surge was puzzled a little. “Tch I will go to. No point in risking the power plant getting destroyed.” Circling her aura, Captain Surge shot off like lighting.
“Hmm good lcuk if you get in his way mom.” Hilda said lowly. Her thinking felt unrestrained as she sat up. Slowly she typed at her pokegear looking at different sightings of powerful pokemon. ‘Mark the dangerous ones and capture them. This will be fun. But I need to train against the challengers here first for a bit.’
-At the Power Plant-
Gray had ran straight into the facilty. Dodging people as he did so. He was cursing himself for not remembering that Zapdos nesting grounds was that location in several Pokemon adaptations. Armed with that knowledge he made so to check other key places in his travels. Hopefully some fit with the actual locations.
He released Growlithe and Midnight. There orders were to find Zapdos as he moved out in the area. The three of them had the strongest Blessing from Arcanine. Sniffing out the area, for Tricia’s scent. The problem was the fact she had been over most of the places.
‘Empress you have anything?’ Gray transmitted waking her up inside him.
‘Keeping heading in this direction. I can feel her not to far away.’ Empress said. ‘With the bit of aura you gave her in the forest and with the Blessing you gave Hilda we are connected just a bit more now.’
Dashing down the corridor, Gray stopped at a ledge. Looking over he saw a turbine that lead to a cavern. Flying over with his psychic power he felt Empress push her harder. They were getting closer. In a few minutes he arrived at the spot. It was a nest…
Instead of attacking. Gray just paused and stared at what was in front of him. Tricia was petting Zapdos. The way she was doing it bother him more than anything. An argument erupted between the three. It lasted until Captain Surge arrived. She was barely even out of breath.
With her help, Gray calmed down thanks to both of their efforts. It helped that they pointed out that this was not the Zapdos he was really looking for. This Zapdos was only related to the one that served Ho-Oh all those years ago. Gray had let his emotions bother him when he came across that Zapdos before. However this rapey Zapdos still bothered him the way he looked at June before.
‘Gray I say we kill him and take his power.’ Empress transmitted to him.
Growlithe shoot his head no. Saying this Pokemon only acted a little hastily. If Gray would have bedded June this one not have been a problem. This earned him smack on the head by Gray.
“I was desperate!” Zapdos said. “I had to do so before my power weakened. Then you hit me! After you ran away, another Pokemon came and caused me trouble. I was forced to flee. Your a bit of an ass!”
“Tch, sure rapey mick raperson” Gray said angrily. “That is not an excuse really. Should have gotten off your high horse and got with one of the bird Pokemon in the area.”
“It would have been a waste of strength. I must do my part to get ready for its return.” Zapdos shook its head.
“It?” Captain Surge asked.
“I am going then Mom. Gray it is of my own choice.” Tricia turned to go into the trial. A very different trial than what others have taken. A one that required her to take all of Zapdos and its memories to bear it’s children.
“Ok.” Gray turned to leave shaking his head in dismay. “Good luck.”
“Wait!” Captain Surge said. She knew his presence would have a type of comfort for her daughter in a way. “You can wait here with us yah know.”
“What kind of guy do you take me for?” Gray looked at them weirdly. “You want me to wait while my friend goes and mates with someone who almost raped a dear friend of mine? What coming of age stupid new shit is that? When this is over and I get in touch with June, I am gonna see what she thinks about this. I am not that goodhearted to not try and kill him still.” He walked off toward the direction exit of the cavern
“Bwoom!” A flash of aura shot towards Gray. It was old and Primordial like Arcanine was.
“What the hell is this?” Gray stopped and asked.
“Something to help.” Zapdos said. “That is the soul of an old friend. You call the species Jolteon. I knew him as Turbo.”
“Turbo?” Gray shook his head and absorbed the aura.

(Arcanine Blessing increase in Power. Jolteon soul acquired. +5 Speed +2 Aura)
Inside Gray, a sleeping Jolteon appeared. It was a very tall Pokemon very much unlike the regular kind. It was just a foot shorter than Arcanine. It’s power was massive as it slowly gave it’s power over to Gray. Along with it’s memories. Making it to the exit of the plant, a bubble appeared.
(Your friendship with Tricia Surge is in danger. Return if you care about your friend.)
“Tch! She saved your life Gray. Just remember that.” Mumbling to himself Gray took his time heading back. He decided to fight a few Pokemon to calm himself. But he dismissed that when he realized this Power Plant was getting repaired. If he lost control a lot of people could get hurt. ‘This is so freaking weird. I swear.’
“True.” Empress said walking next to him. With a wave of her hand, she released the Vulpix’s as well. “I will go and interrogate the other Pokemon in the area. If they tell me this Zapdos is shifty, I will help you pluck the feathers from its body.”
“Thanks.” Gray gave her a nod and smile. He watched as they took off in a sprint. Empress however floated above the ground doing twirls. ‘Hmm who is that other presence inside her? She feels familiar.’
“Woom, woom.” dark energy gathered near the side of Gray. A very small Darkrai appeared. She was about to inches in height.
“Gray!” Darkrai rubbed against his face as she floated. “This feels a lot better than your soul.”
“Haha settle down Darkrai.” Gray rubbed the Pokemon on the head gently as he walked. “How are you feeling lately?”
