- Chapter 76 St.Anne Part 3 Muk is not the problem the Company is..
“Well, I think you could use some help.” Silver said. Behind him, Crystal was all smiles. “We are not Elite Trainer’s, but former Pokemon Champions. Surely, that will do?”
“I think we should try to put it asleep or freeze it first. Maybe even paralyze it.” Crystal added. She grabbed a few Pokeballs and prepared herself while waiting. She was playing hacky sack with a pokeball. Gray tucked that away as useful info.
Gray gave a nod. “Who ever is good at capturing has the best luck. Since it is a Muk.. I am hoping ripping parts off will create Grimer’s. I mean it is how the Pokemon originally was made I think. Rumors are very weird about so many Pokemon. Pokedex entries are even weirder.” He gave a shrug and watched as another wave of people ran down the docks. ‘So many people still. No way battling will help save the others more inland.’ Stretching his psychic energy to help find those around pretty easy.
“Kabooom!” An explusion went of inland. “Kaboom! Kabooom!” Two more around the fuel depository on the other side of the island. Gray started to receive several bubbles at once. So fast he couldnt even respond to them, and the information that poured in. The last one was the worst.
(Trainer needs to save at least 30% of the human population on the island. Must save at least 40% Rewards: Vary)
Gray shook his head. Those in danger were just caught up in this. He couldnt really understand the need to actually help besides the quest.
‘Ugh, why do I care all of a sudden?’ Gray felt a burning sensation in his chest. Several of the Blessings started to respond to his thoughts. Mostly those that represented Life. Gray was knocked out of his thoughts by someone else coming up.
“I think evacuation is the better course.” An officer from the island said. He was injured but still wanted to help. His blue-green hair and amber-gold eyes were a dead give away. Another member of the Jenny clan. Rare to see a male one though. “The evacuation alarm should have gone off by now.”
“Hopefully it does not destroy the island first.” Gray said somberly. “It may be to late with how fast it has grown. I do not want to risk my Pokemon against it. The chemicals might have a stronger effect on them now.”
“Then get out there and do your job!” One of the people said. Gray just stared at the man before he separated his fusion. “What are you doing!?”
Sabrina looked at him in interest as she waited. She then directed her Pokemon to help with evacuation as well. She understood that as the new priority.
“Are you not going to confront the Muk?!” Seeing Gray not respond, the man turned angry. He grabbed Gray by the collar and got in his face. It was exactly what Gray wanted. “Get out there and do something!”
“Wham!” A punched was delivered to the man’s gut. Gray barely held back. The man took a single step back before coughing up blood. “Thump!” He took a knee trying to breathe. Gray just watched him catch his breath painfully slow. Unkown to the man, Gray was running through his mind trying to pry some secrets out.
“What are you doing to my brother?” Another man ran over. He fussed over his brother adamantly. Dressed in a businuess that had few scuff marks only on the sleeves. “You did not have to get violent!”
“Defending myself. I have no idea who you people are but… I do not have to do anything. In fact, I am really thinking about just evacuating the people and Pokemon only. Your island is just screwed.”
As Gray talked to them, his psychic energy was helping guide another bunch of both people and Pokemon that were on the island to safety. That was a bigger priority than the island itself. Something inside would not let him just fight instead. The same feeling he felt in the Dark Forest.
“Huh?” Silver paused as he saw a few people injured floating in the sky. Looking closer, his eyes flared in aura energy. An outline of psychic energy was around Gray and the floating people. “Oh, you are helping the others that are injured.” Gray gave a nod. ‘I thought he really was giving up. Why go this route though? What does it serve?’
“Yeah.” Gray said plainly. “That Muk looks to be slowing down. It should make it easier to help the other people and Pokemon get off the island. Maybe the overfeeding is causing it to go to sleep?”
“Gray, maybe we should check the facility inland. The “Company” did have a small setup.” Sabrina said. She sent the Taillow, Swellow and Fennekin to help others evacuate as soon as they came back. A quick check and she could tell they barely used any energy. “I think we may find a way to neutralize the mutation.”
“Right.” Gray walked over to the people that were apprehended earlier. “Excuse me for the intrusion.” Sending a psychic blast to their minds, he raised them quickly for information. It took just a few seconds to find what he was looking for. “Got it!”
“Uggh.”The people groaned in pain. Gray was not nice as he rifled through the memories.
“Gray is it, I am Offer Brandow. We are going to have a conversation after this. I will have to detain you for your assault on their mind’s.” The officer said reluctantly.
“Hmmmm yeah that sounds about right.” Gray nodded. The arrest was the last thing on his mind. “I may have to take off when I finish though. Since this is outside most areas jurisdiction anyway. Just need to be 30 miles from the center of the 5-mile island. Then you can not do squat.” Floating off the boat, both he and Sabrina were headed to the facility. He now had the codes till several areas. The explosions were the least of the problems.
“Wait for us!” Silver called out. He threw a purple Pokeball that released a Haunter. Before he could give it orders, the pokemon floated to Gray and hugged him. It then started to lick Gray and rubbed against him happily. “What in the world!?”
“Hahaha stop that. It feels to nice.” Gray grabbed the Pokemon and pried himself loose. “Later you can rub against me. Go to your trainer.”
“Hau haau ter!” As you wish! The Haunter floated back over to Silver all smiles. As for Silver, he never saw his Pokemon act that way before. Its father most defintely didnt act that way.
“Questions for later.” Silver placed his hands on Haunter and fused. “Poke Fusion!”
“Bwoom!” A large aura left the two.
Silver looked about the same. Only now his hair did not fluctuate. It stayed silver. His body was covered by a purple cloak and two ghost hands floated to the side. As for his body itself, no arms or hands were visible. A purple mask was around his face that mimicked the way Haunter moved.
“You fusion is stable.” Crystal said suprised.
“Yeah it is. I feel a lot better now.” Moving the hands to touch his face was always the hardest thing to do since the accident. But now it turned second nature. ‘Haunter is completely calm and synched with me. How strange.’
‘Not strange at all. Blessing of Giratina, Blessing of Yvetal. Blessing of the Master!’ Haunter said from with glee. ‘We have been judged worthy. Must keep secret. Bad if you blab, so do not blab!’
‘Then why tell me that!?’ Silver admonished the Pokemon.
‘We are partners. Must not keep secret from partner. That bad.’ Haunter replied quickly. ‘They are getting furthur away. Hurry Hurry!’
“Oh crap.” Silver scooped up Crystal and they were off.
-Facility Holding-
“Boom!” A set of drums blew up to the left. It almost set a region of the forest on fire. Sabrina took off to deal with it. Crystal going down with her. Gray and Silver went to the Command Center.
“Crrrenn!” The metal cried against his psychic power. Gray ripped off the side of the roof to land inside. It was the best he could do. The rest of the metal structure was made of a special alloy. Resistant to psychic power and probing.
“What do you think we will find?” Silver asked. he was floating about 10 feet from Gray as they moved. Gray floated above the ground with his Psychic power. The floor had a sensor that would go off once touched.
“Nothing good. Experiments. A lot of them.” Gray floated down the hallway. He was headed to the
Secondary Computer to get access. Disabling the security to mark him and Silver as friendlies seemed to be the fastest option. As they moved, a few people did not make it out in time. Bodies still smashed against walls from the explosions. “Dead from the shockwaves maybe?”
“Maybe. This is horrible.” Silver said lowly. The faces of the people were so distorted from the force involved, it made him wince. “The Company… how will they recover from this?”
“Beep, beep, beep, beep!” Gray put in the four-digit code to open the door. His right was in front forming a psychic barrier. He gave Silver a warning to get ready for blowback. Or whatever was inside. Silve nodded and floated closer to Gray.
“Beep!” The moment he pressed the enter key, the door open with a blast of pressure.
“Bwooom!” The pressure was immense. A large blast of smoke went past the two. Inside, half the controls were melted and the bodies inside were mostly burnt.
“Help me!” A worker yelled. He was fused with a pokemon half way. His leg was messing and his aura was used to keep him alive. Above him was a dented blast shutter. It was dented and clawed. The worker had tried to get out of the place from there. “Please!”
“Silver you are up!” Gray said. He floated over to the computer to get to work. Typing in the commands to get the blast shutters up. As well as the place vented. “Lift and get that person out. I will get the others.” Silver picked the man up and floated to the door. He looked at the others and could tell if they were alive or not.
“Are you sure Gray? I do not sense any aura from these people.”
“Dammit!” Gray tries to key in another command but no dice. Someone manually sealed an area off. The electronic lock would do no good. “To your left by the closet. Two people are out cold in there. They have a mask that are providing air the suits are protecting them from any chemical outbreak. As soon as you open the door, just pull them out. No sense in waking them up.”
Silver opened the door and found two teens. Maybe 18 or 19 years old. The two males were actually somewhat restrained. Following what Gray said, Silver picked the two up with an enlarged ghost hand. He shot off immediately the way they came.
“Be back soon!” Silver yelled.
“Uh-huh.” Gray grumbled. He finished entering the key and lifted those who were alive up. The dead ones had their items taken. The pokemon would be released later. Maybe.. One of the quests said otherwise. “Finally! Clearance and a path down below.” Now with a way down, Gray sent the people floating out in a pattern. The rest in the room would burn up.
“Woosh!” Flying through he went straight down the nearest elevator. “Crrrn!” Pulling it open, Gray made sure there was not anything above. Dislodging the emergency cable line, the elevator shot passed to the bottom floor.
“That will be loud.” Gray pulled out of the shaft and waited. It took over five minutes before he heard anything. “That is really far down…” Waiting a little more for Silver, they both entered the elevator shaft. “Come on.”
“This seems like a bad idea.” Silver floated behind.
“Yeah.. you have a strong stomach right?” Gray asked. As they descended, his psychic power washed over what it could. Several locations were blocked off. ‘This metal is a problem. At least I can talk with Sabrina.’
“Umm yeah why?” Silver had goosebumps.
“Oh well there are a lot of … things down here.” Gray said cryptically.
“Things!?” Silver did not like the sound of that even more. “What did you find on the computer?”
