- Chapter 79 St.Anne Part 6 Battle out at sea fate of Trainers revealed
Due to the severity of the situation, Gray and company were placed on the St.Anne II. The island was to dangerous to do anything there. Even with the actual mainland Officers coming to help. The “Company” had several loyal workers. Which was made apparent when Gray and company made it to the courthouse.
Several people that Sabrina fought previously had made their move. They did not care for casualties as they attacked in the open. The good news, the place had several trainers who were already upset about what was going on. A lot of the Grimer’s were used to battle against the Company forces.
Having fought for their freedom was the easiest thing for Gray. Rescue Officer Abigal had them head straight for the St.Anne II to escape. She had a bit of pull and requested to use it as a mode of operation till thing were sorted out. Once out pass the waters, Gray could leave if he wanted. He chose however to temporarily stay in her company. The bubbles recommend it for his own sake.
-2 Day’s later-
Gray was on the Aft of the ship. Enjoying the breeze after answering several questions via telecommunications. The Elite League was very heavy handed with the local procedures. Even more so with the amount of people that were saved. Almost all casualties were caused by the “Company” itself.
Clair was true to her word. She had several members of the Blackthorn family put pressure on the local authorities and on the Pokemon League. With her found and having a powerful Pokemon Soul, she was put in charge of the clan. She declined outright. Since they always put Lance first as the head of the clan, no reason to bend over backwards for them. Finding out he was missing, however, did give her pause. But she still decided to stay with Gray. Her new PokeSoul informed of what would happen if she left without his permission.
The information Gray took from the computer contained a few questionable emails between several Gym Leaders. At least three in each region. All except Galar region. Which made since do to its recent problems.
“Hmm you ok Empress?” Gray stroked her head a little. Empress had been quiet and in deep thought all day. “What’s up?”
“You are healed up yes?” Empress asked in her human voice. Her voice was still as soft as ever. Sounding exactly the same as Sabrina’s. Gray gave her a nod. “Good. Make sure you win this battle.”
“Sching!” A blue aura shined from Empress brow. The appearance of a Blue Orb made Gray pause. It looked like a large Pearl in the moonlight.
“This is not the time.” Empress said for posterity. She felt a few people had gotten close and could hear her now. She floated to the side swishing her tail angrily. “We are about to go eat you blockhead!”
Sabrina, Clair, Crystal walked up from one side. Silver and Rescue Officer Abigal from the other side. A few trainers were paying attention after witnessing the shine from the middle deck area. They thought a rare Pokemon was nearby.
“Gray this… thing is powerful. What is it?” Sabrina asked. She felt a familiar connection but shrugged it off. ‘When did I meet this thing?’ Rubbing her chin she thought back long and hard. She got nothing but a sense of Deja vu. ‘Guess I will find out in a bit.’ Her eyes drifted to Empress. ‘I am getting that funny feeling again.’
A few images of a black hair woman appeared in the place of the Pokemon. Sabrina felt her heart speed up a bit. Empress, feeling the gaze turned to face Sabrina.
“Pbpblbl!” Empress made funny faces at Sabrina. Sabrina smiled in turn.
“What do I get after fighting you?” Gray asked. He felt odd talking to the thing. Part of him was telling him to beat the tar out of it and eat it. Another part suggested to pacify it for Empress’s sake. “How do you know Empress anyway?”
“If you were stronger, you would know everything already!” The blue pearl floated about angrily. “You are to weak to protect her! I will crush you and take her away!” It’s voice was threatening and set several bells off in Gray’s soul.
“Boom!” Gray’s aura went out and smacked into the pearl. This sent it far away across the water. Stopping 300 and some feet out, it returned slightly angry.
Gray turned to Sabrina and spoke in a dualtone. “I am going to crush this foolish creature. I may use to much strength. Pick me up if I fall into the water afterward.” His voice had changed and caused shivers to go up Sabrina’s spine. She nodded meekly and hugged herself. Gray floated off the ship and shot off after the pearl. “PokeSoul!” Turning into his combined state was the only option. No chances to take with this.
Clair smiled and sort of danced in place. She could tell a battle was getting ready to take place. A really good one. Her Pokesoul stirring agitated. It slowly fed her information about Gray and the Pearl he was fighting. The more she heard, the more Clair was ready to fight for the future.
Gray was trying to gain control of himself. But images of Empress disappearing from sight ticked him off. A sense of loss broke free as the Blessing of Black Gate lashed out.
(Emotions unstable.. BeastOut activated!)
The center of Gray’s chest glowed in a pink energy. It travelled down to his thighs and his toes. His psychic energy was at the forefront to use for fighting. It faded out replaced by a deep red that turned white. The Blessing of Moltres flared up. The light shone on his shoulders towards his elbows and the inside of his palms. The horns turned more sleek and less round. A deadly point for the tip pulled in psychic energy automatically from the air. His mane returned, fluffier than before. It extended behind his shoulders absorbing moonlight. Dianchie’s Blessing in full effect.
“Crack!” Gray’s body bulged with power. More Pokemon than human, his aura was used to the utmost level. The golden claws turned dark with a white line down the middle. Arcanine’s Blessing flared up next.
“Haaa!” Gray exhaled getting control of himself a little. His emotions were still supercharged, but he knew it would be bad if he didnt stop the Blessings from activating anymore. ‘Must have control still.’ Rampant aura energy swirled from up above and below Gray. he forced the power in relative control.
“Roooooaarr!” Gray let out a battle cry that caused waves to form. He was just far enough away to only cause a few waves to hit the ship. A few snorts caused the air to vibrate near his mouth. Slowly the carapace formed over his mouth to guard it.
“Dark Dance!” Gray said chillingly. He hopped around in the air and caused black clouds to form. “Double Team! Splitting up into multiples he sent a few towards the Pearl.
“Woosh!” One of the copies Teleported away.
“Calm Mind!” Each of the copies glowed with aura energy. Raising their hands up, they used the move Smog! Instead of going towards the Pearl they went up and block out the moon. Around his body, the shadows that were originally cast by the moonlight were swallowed by his power.
A few rocks floated out of the water and floated. With a mental fling they went towards the Pearl as well. “Poof!” The rocks turned to powder. Gray used to much force. The copies were to unstable under his control. Pulling them back inside for the aura energy was the better bet. It increased his stats enough as a compromise.
“Agility!” Feeling his wings stretch and expand, Gray shot forward.
“Raaaa!” The blue pearl shined and released a bright light. It did not pierce the clouds however and caused the ocean below to churn making whirlpools. “I will crush you!”
The light faded revealing a Palkia. However it was different from others. The gems on its arms were a rich blue color and matched the stripes on its body. The dragon body had a slight curve by the feet. looking more human in nature. It was large but not extremely so. The claws were not as pronounced but looked just as deadly. The long ridge down its head looked flexible in a way. Vastily different than a regular Palkia.
“Look, Look a battle!” A trainer said below the bottom deck. Another trainer next time them checked their poke gear and saw the danger notice that Sabrina put out.
“Elite Pokemon battle taking place. Warning, do not interfere for your safety. The Elite trainer is going all out against the wild Pokemon.” The trainer read out loud. “Aww man. A notice is already out. We cant go and catch if they lose.”
“Pft forget that!” Another trainer said. “If that person loses, I am so going to try to catch it.”
“Really, then make sure you sign the waivers.” Rescue Officer Abigal said. She heard everything they said and smiled. “It is for your safety to not interfere, but if you do the only one to blame is yourself. So make sure you fill out the form.” They nodded and did as they were told. Seeing that, Abigal shook her head in dismay. ‘Even with Elite Trainer’s stopping powerful Pokemon, people still want to try and catch them. How foolish.’
“Errr!” Palkia cried out and fired. A water ring left her mouth towards Gray. She had used Water Pulse. Knowing it would not hurt him to much, she was already gathering energy for her next attack. ‘I know your fighting habits. You can not win!’ Her thoughts were firing off quickly. Waiting a few months would put her plans in danger. ‘I must strike now.’
Gray charged right at the ring making as if he was going to destroy it. “Hmmph.” Right as he would collide with it, he folded his wings and slipped right through the inside. Appearing right in front of Palkia, feet first. ‘Double Kick!’
“Thump, thump!” His two feet caught it right in the head. Palkia moved its head back and turned. It sent a Slash towards Gray forcing him to dodge. with a flap of his wings, Gray moved back. The fluctuations of aura made his eyes narrow. Once it was ready, Palkia sent forward a beam of unimaginable power. Hyper Beam!
“Reflect!” Gray growled out. His psychic energy was the only thing fueling the move. As the screen appeared right in front, it barely held. “Haaaa!” Gray’s mouth opened as he pulled in aura energy.
“Crack!” The screen chipped away at the center of impact. Pushed back slightly in the air was a dumb idea. Gray folded his wings and rode the attack back and away from his opponent.
“Woosh!” With a quick teleport, he appeared behind Palkia. Still firing the Hyper Beam, It flew up and tried to point it at Gray.
“Schlick! Schlick!” Gray had latched on with his claws onto Palkia’s feet. Digging them in for firm grip he tried to attack directly at the face. His tail moving to strike.
“Eeerrr!” Palkia cried as the force of her attack pushed Htay away. His claws trailing along the entire way. Right as Gray reached the bottom of the heel the attack stopped. “Eeer!” Palkia cried as Gray clutched his claws.
“Splrt!” The claws ripped through the feet and tore free Palkia’s toe-claws. Gray’s face was missing on the left side. Bones melted and skin screeched that remain. The problem was that he was still taking in Aura energy. Not to restore himself but powering the move still.
‘If he thinks he will get me with that move Revenge, he has another thing coming!’ Palkia thought angrily. Its hands glowed dangerously as it swiped at Gray. It used the move Slash!
Gray grabbed the attack midway. He stopped both swings and pulled Palkia towards him. Quickly he did a front flip. His tail cutting the Pokemon in the face down its chest. He used the move Tail Whip as well as Scratch. Palkia felt offended dropping her defense to outright attack again.
“Bloop! Bloop!” Water gathered around her tail as she turned. She used the move Aqua Tail. Power up by Rage, the attack looked almost like a spinning drill.
“Fwip!” A turn of the head. “Fwip!” A simple lean back. “Fwip” A slip to the side. Gray dodged the first three swings. But Palkia took a deep breath pulling him towards her. Now to close for comfort, Gray was hit full on.
“Bam!” The tail smacked him in the chest and head. “Crack!” The cracking of his skill could be heard by everyone on the ship.
‘Roost.’ Gray thought simply. His wings flapped and his body restored. Aura energy still poured into his mouth and horns. ‘Almost time!’ Gray Teleported directly in front of Palkia. Grabbing her by the face he delivered two knee strikes to the shoulders.
Palkia wrapped her arms around Gray’s waist. She jerked him down but paid for it. Gray clasped his hands togethor and smashed her head down.
“Orrruu!” Groaning in pain, Palkia was slightly dazed. She snapped at attention at Gray’s next words.
“Bide.” Gray released all the stored energy and attacked As he released everything, the Beast Out transformation receded. ‘Fury Swipes!’ His claws extended and shined. Gray delivered three strikes across Palkia’s head. Enough to rattle the Pokemon but not serious damage. His arm went out in a thrust towards the chest.
“Bang!” Arm Thrust met a Headbutt! Gray’s arm snapped from the impact. Redirecting the remainder of the energy, he fired.
“Woosh! A quick teleport as he appeared above. “Wooom!” Gray let loose with out restraint. Unfocused power, just raw aura pushed against the Pokemon. His face ripped apart at the sides. His throat burned from the overwhelming force. Gray started to dissolve as the attack pushed Palkia to the water down below. She resisted after a time and stopped above the surface.
“All out of power weakling!” Palkia sneered. Seeing his disappearing visage bode ill for her. “Double Team! Where are you!? You coward!” In her OutRage senses sort of dulled a little. Palkia’s tail swung around dangerously as she circled around.
A slight flux of energy alerted to up above. Past the smog and clouds in the sky.
Palkia reared back and fired into the sky. Her attack pushed through the clouds and made several openings in its formation. Seeing the multiple light shine, Palkia fired an Aura Sphere into the sky in the center.
“Wooom!” The ball of energy travelled fast. Forgoing power for speed to arrive faster. “Pat!” Itwas caught against a clawed foot. Gray then kicked it back towards Palkia with ease. “Pat!” Palkia backhanded it. The wobbly ball dissipated after flying a few feet.
“How long… how long have you hidden there!?” Palkia yelled.
“Since the beginning.” Gray pointed his hands down at her. “I would like it if you died from this. But… you never know.” In both hands, he had gathered energy for Solar Beam. Moonlight is just reflected sunlight. Between his horns aura still gathered for another attack. “Double Solar Beam!”
“Woosh!” Gray used the last of his psychic power to Teleport. Palkia covered herself inside her aura. She used the move Protect to shield herself. “Bam!” Gray had appeared and kicked her twice. Then he let loose the Solar Beams. “Pppeeewwww!” The Protect lasted for a few seconds then faded away. As she was pushed against the water, her own type infuriated Palkia.
“Raaaaaahhhhh!” Palkia opened her mouth and used Spatial Rend. The two moves clashed and started to push Gray back. “You cannot have her!” Palkia raged. Pushing her aura energy out even more started to threaten her life. She hated Gray and it showed. Sensing the threat he acted. The move Gray built up around his horns cut loose.
Gray used the move Dragon Force. A black pink dragon composed of aura energy shot forward. The ship had sailed furthur away just in case. Gray had sent a message to Silver after the clouds were pierced.
“Kaaaabbbbooom!” The detonation of the aura energy burned away the water. A 1/4 mile crater was left in its place. Palkia stood bloody on the raised ocean floor. The water rising upward from her distortion attack.
Palkia looked for Gray and didnt see him. Right as she was getting ready to relax, she thought better of it. The water was pulled from the side to supplement her aura usage. Just in time as she saw Gray dive-bombing from the sky. His transformation receded to just his scarf and claws.
‘Agility!’ Gray built up additional speed. ‘Bulk Up!’ His muscles bulked up next. Arriving right in front of Palkia he attacked. “Double Revenge!” The mental frustration powered up the psychic aspect of the attack. The wear and tear on his body powered up the regular aspect of the move.
‘Hydo Pump!’ Palkia fired a torrent of water from her mouth. Gray’s claws cut tight through as he moved closer.
“Grrr!” Palkia growled as the last of her water petered out Gray’s right claw lost its luster. But the left still had power.
“Sclick!” Gray stabbed Palkia in her exposed chest. With a twist, he pulled out. Grabbing her by the shoulders, Gray cracked the two orbs inside. Gray had to push the desire to rip the arms off.
“Aaahhhh!” Palkia let out a very human cry. The trainers and Pokemon in the boat shuddered.
(Spare Palkia) The bubble was black instead of the usual blue. Gray sneered and smashed Palkia into the ground.
“Crack!” The sound of several bones breaking echoed pass. The shifting waters did not hide the sound from those on the ship.
-The Boat-
“Did.. did Gray kill the Pokemon?” Crystal asked. She didnt know if she could fight like that. The blatant disregard for her life was not appealing. “Is he always like that?”
“No. This time was a little personal.” Sabrina said. At one point she had moved to the rails to watch closer with everyone else. Empress had wrapped her tail around Sabrina at one point. ‘What are all these memories?’
‘They are our memories.’ Empress sent to her telepathically. As the battle unfolded the Pokemon had been resonating with Sabrina slowly. ‘You can learn everything if we fused.’ Sabrina gave her a worried look. The idea of fusing put things on the table she rather not deal with.
“Maybe.” Was all Sabrina mumbled. Focusing, she could see the remainder of the battle.
-Mystery Dungeon-
Gold woke up and was heading towards the exit of the dungeon. A single thought in his mind at what to do next. He also wanted to tell Professor Oak Gary was alive.
‘Oh man I need to move faster!’ Using Extreme Speed on himself was tiring. ‘Agility!’ Gold’s legs bulged. His moment almost three times as fast as before. ‘Much better!’
Several fire pokemon were in the area. They did not hold him up. The Blessing of Groudon warned them not to.
‘Well this guy really help us though?’ Gold thought to the sleeping Rafiel. ‘I mean, he has his own things going on.’
The memories gave him info of Gray fighting against several people in the past. Always the bad guy in each case. But it was all by design. the last memory that played, however, was the most chilling. He saw the creation of Arcecus and how it was not the creator of this World. The place existed before its conception.
‘Man even Ho-Oh is not the original creator. I wonder what that means for some things in the history books?’ Gold was ready to talk with his mom. She was a crazy historian and would love to have this information. He was to distracted to catch that he was tailed by someone. “There is the exit!”
“Stop!” A voice boomed from behind. Gold was not dumb enough to do that. A large flaming dog had ran over. It was trying to get him to miss the exit. “Human, you must do this!”
“Get bent!” GOld yelled back. He sent his aura out towards every Pokemon in the area to attack. “I do not care what a traitor like has to say Entei.”
“You leave me no choice then!” Entei opened its mouth to attack. It was interrupted by another however. Turning to the side, the Fire Blast missed it’s target and hit the trees. “You!”
“Booommm!” An explosion of bark and dirt flew around the area. Gold did not stop his running. He could feel a large group of Pokemon coming from the east. They did not feel right.
“Long time no see.” THe voice belonged to old Arcanine. Next to him was a very old Flareon. It’s fur white and the flames flickering in the same color. The pokemon leaked bloodlust. “You will have a traitor’s death. Then I will kill your entire species. Until every bit of traitorous blood is wiped out.”
“How did you recover your youth?!” Entei asked. The old Arcanine looked to be in it’s prime. As well as the Flareon.
“Take care of him Flareon. I will take care of her.” Old Arcanine turned to see Suicune land a little bit away. “To side with them.. how pathetic.” Seeing her stand against him was the last straw for the Alliance they had. Inside the power from gray circulated. Both he and Flareon grew in size and power. “We can consider this the end of friendly terms.”
“Please wait.” Suicune said. She was stalling for the others to get Gold back. “We can talk about this.” Her head was lowered in shame. She knew what she was doing was despicable. Unlike the others, she did not suffer much at the hands of Entei’s betrayal. “We must not kill him. He is needed.”
“Raaaawwr!” Flareon burst with raged and attacked Entei. From the ground lava pillars formed. They broke opened to reveal several pokemon that charged towards Entei. Dark red Onyx had burst out. “I have learned much after licking my wounds. Working with other types is not so bad. Kill all those who get in your way!”
“Grrrooo!” The Onyx rampaged towards Entei that could only dodge.
“Arrrooo!” Suicune had dropped her guard and paid for it. Arcanine had cut her across the chest with a Slash. He was not holding back. “Please..”
“No.” Was all Arcanine said. Right as he went to rip her throat, a large explosion blasted him back. With a flip in the air, he landed against a tree. “Who are you?” Arcanine asked with a sneer. he could still feel himself getting stronger. ‘I must really think Gray for this.’
In front was a young man in white. A faraway look was in his eyes. He moved under someone else’s control. It was the trainer N. His hand raised to attack to attack everyone in the vicinity. Except for Entei. Suicune looked on shocked. This was not what she expected to happen. Looking towards Entei she lamented her decision.
Several multicolored Aura Sphere’s went out. Suicune took one in the chest. Arcanine and Flareon stopped each with a blast of fire. Entei was long gone when the smoke cleared.
“Bwoom!” An image of Giratina left from Arcanine. It was just residual pressure left to Protect the Old Arcanine from danger. A black cage wrapped around N. Instantly his mind was cleared. But it would not last long.
“Ughh where am I?” N looked around and saw the bars around him. Grabbing them burned his skin. Images of the pain he caused as part of team Plasma played in his mind. Despite his “intentions” he still caused a lot of people pain. “Ahhh! I am sorry!” N cried.
“Bink!” The cage shattered and N disappeared into a prismatic portal.
“Grrr.” Flareon was livid. He marched over to Suicune in anger. “You will pay for this. Mark my words.”
“I.. understand.” Was all Suicune said. ‘This was not supposed to happen like this. Is Entei really gone?’ Her head lulled to the side a little. ‘This is not what they said would happen. Did they lie to me?’ Feeling a foreign aura enter her body sent Suicune in a panic. “Stop!”
“Hmm.” Arcanine had walked over and felt the change taking places. Flareon just stared intently. “Tch, you are lucky today.”
“Fwwwosh!” Arcanine covered Suicune in dark flames. The infection was burned away in an instant.
“Why save her?” Flareon asked. He calmed down enough to communicate with the others in the distance. “Gold had made it through. Now what?” His hind leg scratched against his ear. He looked more like a soft little animal compared to the raging monster from earlier.
“Because she has things to tell us. And she will tell us.” Arcanine picked up Suicune by the scruff of her neck. With a flick of his tail, a portal opened for they return back to their territory.
“I like the gold old days. When she helped us. Now she helps the enemy. Haaa, good thing Jolteon is not here to see this. He always had a crush on her.” Flareon tail flicked around sending out little flames. The flames left marks in the ground for any of his kind that past through. It contained the image of what happened here. “I say we eat her heart as payment. And take her area.”
The portal closed behind the three. THe Onyx would patrol the area for a time. Up above in the sky hidden by clouds. Another beast pokemon watched what happened. He felt conflicted. The right thing to do would be to help Arcanine and Flareon. For the laws they set in the past were clear.
“Haaa. I must find him soon. No time to wait.” It was a Raikou. Like the others, he was the first of his kind. “Humph!” With a snort, an electric ball formed. it shot off to the “human world” to find a worthy person. “What man will it find I wonder?”
“Bzzzt!” Turning into electricity he shot off. He was in for a surprise at who it found. It would not be a man that earned his power.
-Vermillion Gym-
“Achhoo!” Hilda sneezed as she worked out. Her sister Tricia not to far doing the same. ‘Almost time for me to go. THe gym can handle itself. I feel way to antsy lately.’
“Bless you.” Tricia said from the side. She looked at her sister fondly for a bit. The two had talked a bit and solved a few things. But a lot still needed to get aired out. “Haa, it is time.”
“Huh?” Hilda looked at her weirdly. “Time for what?”
“I challenge you to an elite Battle.” Tricia said. “Well, tomorrow anyway. Not today.”
“Ok.” Was all Hilda said. She went back to lifting. “Bring your best. Because I will hold nothing back. You beeter not die!” The idea of losing did not cross her mind. Hilda trained hard and long. She also kept herself in peak condition. With the way things had been lately, she even studied other types to brush up on. “I refuse to loose.” To much rode on the outcome.
