- Chapter 91 Gym Battle Conclusion and the return of friends
“I will show you the error of your ways. A shame your Pokemon has to die for it.” Gray snorted coldly. His wings flapping every now and then. “Death to fools.”
“Fwish!” His tail whipped about. Sending a few flame puffs out. The strangest thing, the puffs did not dissipate. Looking almost alive as they circled behind.
“Dynamax time!” Milo band glowed as the Dynamax energy poured into Eldegoss. The pokemon grew in height and relative power. It looked strainful to him in some way. “Whew!” Milo wiped his brow for some reason. ‘Testing proved fine but real use is a different story. We just need more time! More funding!’
“Goooosss!” The pokemon Eldegoss announced unintelligible. Its mind slightly addled by the Dynamax energy. Its leafy crown moving sightly about.
“Use Max Overgrowth!” Milo ordered. His pokemon followed the order immediately. Trained enough to still respond to his voice at least.
Eldegoss reared back, a few green bulbs wrapped of leaves started to appear. As soon as it launched, Gray interrupted with a move of his own.
“Raaaah!” He let loose a Fire Spin. The flaming tornado burned the green bulbs to cinders and wrapped Eldegoss up. “Raaah! Raaah!” Two more fired out and wrapped creating a devastating current of fire.
“Fwish! Fwish” Behind Gray’s tail whipped behind again. Another set of puffs appeared. Dancing to the rhythm of Gray’s wings.
“Eldegoss get out of there! Use Rapid Spin to breakthrough!” Milo ordered. Seeing his partner burn up was a bit to much to witness. Flashbacks to the Galar region evacuation appearing in the forefront of his mind. “Do It now!”
“Goossss!” Eldegoss started to spin against the tornado. Slowly Fire Spin started to break down.
Milo looked to see Gray smirking. The puffs of flame behind him starting to cause him to worry. He didn’t have to wonder what they were for long. Gray sent them forward. The puffs disappeared into the Rapid Spin. Going in the same direction!
“Fwwwissh!” The Fire Spin was swallowed up by the puffs. And burned with the Rapid Spin. Dynamax energy fed into the attack along with aura energy. Leading to devastating results. In a blur, Gray teleported over. Arms spread as a flame barrier appeared.
Completely pressing onto the large Pokemon. A red membrane started to form like a shell for an explosion.
“Kaboom!” The pressure caused Eldegoss to exploded on itself. To much Dynamax energy concentrated. Contained within the flame barrier, the explosion hit the pokemon again.
“Kaboom!” There was no scream, as it was drowned out by the flames and explosions.
“Eldegoss…” Milo mumbled crestfallen. He stepped into the arena not paying attention in the least. Almost memorized by the flames.
Gray flew back letting the flames run wild. Bea went to shut off the machine. But the aide was already turning off every bit he could.
“Haaa, your still alive.” Milo held onto Eldegoss. The marks all over his pokemon didn’t look like fire burns at all. In fact, they looked like a type of corrosion. “Are you going to take your reward?” Milo asked with venom in his voice.
“Just give me my badges. Your little Eldegoss is tainted by to much Dynamax energy. I rather not get sick.” Gray said as neutral as possible. His hand was outstretched in wait. “Well?”
“Allow me.” A voice announced. It was the aide from before. She walked over in Gym Leader attire. “I am as of this moment, the new Gym Leader. Milo, you have been removed of your duties. We do extend the hand for you to help fix the gym. Since you screwed it up. You are not qualified to be a Gym Leader. At least not in Neo Kanto.”
“I understand Leafa.” Milo said not suprised. He was suprised when Leafa came over and healed his Pokemon. She let out a sweet scent that caused the air to hum. The Dynamax energy turned to aura energy in an instant. To say Gray was interested, was an understatement. “Thank you.”
“You are welcome. Sorry for being so hard on you.” Leafa said embarrassed slightly. She did not apologize much it seemed. It came out forced. “You destroyed our gym kind of, made things extremely hard after we just started to recover from the loss of our previous Gym Leader.”
“I.. understand. This is not the Galar region. Your trainers fight as if it is the same as breathing.” Milo returned his Eldegoss and dust himself off. He turned to Gray a little upset still. “I still stand by what I said.”
“Ok.” Gray shrugged. ‘If they go the same as the Galar region because of this, it will make “Judgement” that much easier.’
(Defeat Dynamax Trainer Milo with your Pokesoul: Completed. Rewards: Dynamax immunity. Dynamax energy is no longer harmful to the Trainer. However, Pokemon can not Dynamax. Pokemon that have Dynamax can not be raised by the trainer correctly.)
“Hmm, badges.” Gray put the two badges in his hand away. The levels up were nice as well as the stat increase. ‘Now on to other things.’
“Wait, when the things settle, come back for another go. I want to battle you.” Leafa said determined. Gray gave her a nod leaving. Bea followed behind after saying a few words to Milo. “Hmm, why is she in a rush?”
“To most likely fight him.” Milo watched the other two leave. A feeling of regret in not winning passing over slightly.
.
Outside the Gym-
.
Gray and Bea were about 1/4 mile away from the gym. In a nice open area talking things over. The Eevee snuggled into his chest happily. Bea felt slightly jealous.
“Ease now little one.” Gray caressed the Eevee’s head. “To think you are made from my dna and Ori’s is something else. I will not disappear if you stop.”
“Ok!” The little Eevee floated to her partner and started doing the same. “See, papa is good stuff. So warm. Just like you!”
“Ehem, calm down.” Bea said embarrassed. “So Gray, what am I to do exactly. She said I needed to find you to receive my mission. But to be honest, I think I should help the refugees of Galar more.”
“Really?” Gray gave her a questioning look. He blinked once releasing his aura. “That is not what you want. You want to fight and help save the World. No reason to lie to yourself.”
“Ugh.” Bea braced herself from the intense aura. her blood already boiling to fight. “But I have a responsibility as a Gym Leader.”
“Your gym is gone. if you want it back, the only way you are going to get it, is by stopping those who did it to the Galar region. And that happens to be the traitor gym leaders.” Gray didn’t hold the information back as he told her directly. It took about 30 minutes for him to explain what he knew. Bea went through a myriad of emotions as they did so. “Helping me take down Arceus people, will get you there. Trust me when I say they are the real threat.”
“You have given me a lot to think about.” Bea said. She wanted to think about this all clear-headed but she couldn’t. The desire to fight was to strong in her. She released her Pokemon, a Machamp. “Fight me Gray!”
“Yeah!” Eevee entered the medium state in an instant. ‘We can show him how strong we are.’
“Very well then.” Gray threwh out a pokeball of his own. Titan appeared. “We have a battle to fight. We need to judge their strength.”
“Grrrrrroooo!” Titan bellowed. The pokemon in the surrounding area immediately scurried away. Gray typed away on his pokegear alerting that an elite battle was taking place. “I am ready.” Titan said.
“Pokefusion!” Gray and Bea said at the same time.
Gray’s body was covered in chitin. Each breath he took, released steam. On down, the back were the spikes of a Nidoking. At the very end opening’s that took in aura and pushed out steam. Constantly refining it in the area. Legs completely covered the same. No toes just a bone-hard protrusion. His bottom jaw a little wider than the top. Canines sticking out if he sat it weird. Tail fully flexible swishing behind him. Forearms with retractable blades made of dense bone.
“Grrrrrooo!” A powerful pressure left from gray. So intense, Bea was forced out of her fusion. He eyed her closely. “You are not used to pokefusion are you?”
“Ha..ha..ha.. no.” Bea was exhausted. Machamp out cold seeing stars from the experience. “Just a few days really. I.. just need a bit.”
“Hmmm. Training is more appropriate. Come out little one.” Gray said calmly. The little Eevee floated over depressed a little. “None of that now. You are young, time for growth will come. Trust me.” Releasing his fusion, Titan went to walk the area. “Must not rush.”
“Ok, papa.” Rubbing against Gray, it was very apparent the Mew enjoyed the Eevee form more than its other. Most likely due to the softness it had. “I wanna meet mama to.”
“I can show you her form she currently has. Then you can go to her at your own leisure.” Gray showed her the forms of Professor Juniper, Ori with Sabrina and Chroma as well. “Try to take it easy with them. I think .. they may be going through some things.”
“Ok.” She bounced both Gray and Bea for a bit. Listening as Gray explained what he knew about Pokefusion. Bea picked it up supringsly fast. ‘I wonder if the others are having the same kind of fun?’
“Bzzzzt!” A buzz of electricity appeared not to far from them. A young woman stepped out.
.
Vermillion City-
.
Tricia and Hilda’s fight had finished with unexpected results. Hilda showed mercy at the end. Proving she was that much stronger. Before the match was called, a light descended on Tricia. Bathed in electricity she struck her sister in anger.
But Hilda the better fighter intercepted and broke her arm in retaliation for her act. Transformed still, Tricia slinked into a Beast Out fainting. Mrs.Surge told her daughter she went to far as she cradled her youngest.
Hilda was absolutely pissed. She held back and defend herself from a lethal stab and her mouth still gave her crap. That was the final straw. She threw her stuff down and spat at her mother. The rage in her heart was unimaginable as she left out. Grabbing her clothes and everything she owned, she left.
“I can not suffer this anymore. If she wants to continue to treat me this way, I am done. The gym and this shitty legacy can kiss my ass!” Hilda was tempted to blow the building up. But knew that would make her sad in the end. Several trainers and Pokemon livehood’s depended on it. She turned to see a Pokemon descended from the sky. “Eh?”
‘You are the one I am looking for. You have his scent upon you.’ The light ball showed a yellow Mew inside. It’s shape turned to a Jolteon. Licking it’s paws it stared intently. ‘A name partner?’ The tone was very.. assured of itself.
“Well.. I am Hilda. Nice to meet you.” Hilda reached out for the paw and was Teleported away. “Ugh this better not hurt!”
.
Gray and Bea-
.
“It’s another!” Eevee cheered. She ran over tackling the other pokemon. Jolteon tumbled in the grass before separating. By kicking the Pokemon off her. “Oof! That is not very nice!”
“Neither is charging someone.” Jolteon growled. Her hair standing on end as she entered battle mode. Black lighting circulating. “Do that again, and you are toast!”
“Hey, Hilda. You ok?” Gray asked. He stretched his psychic power wrapping both of the angry little pokemon up. With a pull, they bother came to him. Stroking their heads getting to calm down. “You look like you need a drink.”
“Yeah, I kind of do.” Hilda was sad and unbelievably frustrated. Seeing Bea however, she didn’t know what to say. “New girlfriend?”
“New… I don’t have as it is.” Gray said sheepishly.
“Wait.. Sabrina.” She watched as he shook his head. “So you are single then.”
“Pffft yes.” Gray laughed. Hilda defiantly knew how to diffuse a situation still. “Interested?”
“Yes. Especially for some fun.” Hilda flirted back.
“Hey, you two are not by yourselves!” Bea felt she was ignored and did not like that in the least. “What is your little friend’s name?”
“She definitely has a tude I can get with.” Hilda rubbed her chin. “I think.. Savage Bolt. Maybe just Savage.”
“I like it.” Gray said.
“Awww, change my name Bea! I want a cooler one!”
“Ok, how about Impact?” Bea shrugged somewhat tired already.
“Yeay! Impact! Impact!” The little Eevee squirmed against Gray happily. Much to the annoyance of her sister. “We can be tag team partners. Impact Savage!”
“That sounds awful.” Savage scoffed. Seeing the happy look however she couldn’t help herself. “Savage Impact and you have a deal.”
“Chump!” The Eevee bit her sister’s ear. A very over affectionated one. Not at all like her partner.
“Ok, how about we go and get drinks and you tell me what is going on.” Hilda cut in. The Jolteon jumped away from gray into her. “That tingles. I can feel her. And even hear her.”
“Sounds good to me. Today has been… troublesome. And about to get more troublesome.” Gray looked to the side as a very beaten up Clair and Sabrina arrived. “Had fun training?”
“Yeah. Just have to go and take care of some family things for awhile.” Clair said. Her voice slightly hurt. She was slightly reluctant to go. “But I will get in contact with everyone if I need help. Feel free to do the same.”
“I will help her if I can. You are from Blackthorn City right?” Bea asked. Eyes slightly sparkling as Clair was someone she looked up to when she was younger. She received a nod. “Great! Maybe even learn a little about Pokesoul while there.”
“Why would you be able to learn about Pokesoul while there?” Gray asked.
“The temple has an effect on those who enter. People with Pokesouls found themselves receiving visions.” Clair said. Gray had a very strange expression on his face as he tapped away at his Pokegear. ‘He has that look again.’
“Is there by chance a scale or claw there like this?” Gray changed his hand for her to see. Bea actually flinched at that. It did not go unnoticed.
“Claw.. no. But a few scales. Maybe 6 or so. Had them for a decade or so.” Clair scratched her head trying to remember exactly.
“Bea.. what is it?” Gray asked.
“Our former champion has one of the claws around his neck. And Raihan has a keychain of one like that. Look’s like it. Thinking his grandpa gave it to him after the big thing that happened here.”
“Gray, let us go and get them. I will be able to tell if they are from you are not.” Sabrina said. She knew Gray was not emotionally ok to gather them. Not currently. ‘The psychic impression when he attaches them, may cause him to go on a rampage.’ Ori.. what are you doing?’
‘Talking to my daughters.’ Ori floated out with the two pokemon circling her. They were turned into Mew’s instantly. the sight quite astonishing to a passerby. “I am glad it was a success.”
“Mama!” Impact tackled her. Savage just wrapped her tail around. It was definitely longer than the average Eevee.
“Hmm?!” Gray looked to the distance seeing a high powered lens after zooming in. ‘Titan.. kill that person.’
‘Yes.’ Titan responded instantly. All the pokemon in the area had cleared out. As well as the trainers. The Elite signal was still in effect. Only one around was the person taking pictures. A photographer by the clothing design. But also a Dark Trainer. The person sold information on Elite Trainer’s and their Pokemon.
“Hehe, three Mew’s! Two even mutated! This is worth a fortune!” The photographer missed Titan who came up camouflaged. As it disappeared, he grabbed hold. “Huh!?”
“To cause problems for us.. the sentence is death.” Titan opened his mouth wide and bit the man in two. Blood gushing like a warm beverage. The gear dropped to the side. With another three chomps, no trace was left. “Freedom.” A wave of the hand released the pokemon the photographer had.
“What happened to him?!” A male Absol said. The others looking around in fear. Collars around their necks that had barbed protrusions. “Do we return to the Company?”
“Huh!?” Titan looked confused so he contacted Gray. A quick mental conversation and Titan had his orders. He reached into the bag rummaging through until he found a remote. Pressing the release button, the collars came off. “You are free now.”
“Free.” The lead Absol shook his head. “It will not be long until we are captured again. They will find us. They always do.”
“Grrrr.” Titan grumbled. A memory of Pyron surfaced and gave him a slight pang of heartache. If he was here, he would help. Picking the gear up with his tail, he walked back towards Gray. “Come with me. Grab your pokeballs.”
The five Absol’s obeyed. A few hors later a trainer appeared. Searching till they found the remains of the remote.
“Yeah.. no trace of him. What do you want me to do?” The trainer spoke into his pokegear. Instructions came quick. “Understood. I will find unit 37’s belongings and Pokemon. Hope he does not think to escape the Company with no issues.”
.
Pokemon Bar-
.
Everyone was gathered for the first time. Which was quite a few people actually. Red and Gold even showed up. With guest of Iris showing up. The conversation was not that good so far after everyone ate.
“I want that calw. It is not yours.” Gray said darkly.
“Man it was going so well at first. Until Iris pulled that out.” Gold was no longer cheerful himself. The claw felt like it belong to Gray. Gary looked to be angry as well. ‘Oh boy, Gray made the right friends it seems. Gary defintely looks to be on his side.’
“This belongs to my grandpa.” Iris said scared. “He received it in a dungeon from an old friend..” As tensions rose at what would only turn into a slaughter fest, an old friend came by. “Who are you lady?”
“Proof that it is his.”
