An adult in Pokemon - Chapter 97 Gym Battle and a Dungeon
The next day, Gray was starting his Elite Gym Battle. The regular battle gym battle was simple. And easy to win for Bedrill. It still amazed Gray that the pokemon was still a Mega Bedrill.
It fought brutally leaving no quarter and dodging with the smallest window. The anger still from the loss of Pyronfueled its fighting ability.
Janine came out to do the Elite battle. Having watched Gray for the last few days and finding nothing good about him really. Except he trained a lot and read a lot. And hung out with his two friends.
“Are you ready Trainer?” The ref said from the side. Gray gave a nod as Titan the Nidoking stepped forward. Ready for battle. The ref actually flinched from the natural pressure it released. “Janine. are you ready?”
“I am.” Janine touched her Ariados and poke fused. The process was really quick. Without a waste of aura energy, she did put in a lot of effort. Four human arms appeared from her sides. A horn grew out of her head. Pincers extending from her mouth. From her back, two protrusions stuck out. Purple and gold in color like the new arms. ‘I need to see his worth, best way is to battl!.’
*Booom!* A shockwave of aura left from Gray and Titan. The power the two wielded was monstrous. Almost perfect but not just there yet. Titan still dealing with a sense of sense, and Gray… well Gray mind was dealing with his job.
Gray’s body was completely armored. His fingers still movable but covered in a white carapace. Spikes down his back that led down to a tail that swung about. The air moving with it. Stealing loose aura energy in the air. The horn on his head looked bigger every moment..
“Grrroooo!” Gray growled with a feral sound. Unnerving a few people that watched. The feeling he released was like that of a wild pokemon. Gray got down on all fours. Gripping at the ground for a charge. “Let’s get started!”
“Begin!” The ref jumped out of the way. A bead os sweat coming down his forehead. ‘Why is Janine so pumped up? The Elite Trainer has a nice record from what I saw. Nothing illegal.’
Gray pushed off the ground shooting like a harpoon. Using the move Megahorn out the gate. It was supplemented by Dark energy-boosting its power. Janine jumped back with her mouth opening. Instincts telling her not to get hit so soon in the battle.
“Kah!” Shooting out a String Shot, she latched onto the horn. With bursting agility, she landed and tried to disrupt the momentum Gray had. Yanking and pulling to the side. She changed the direction a little then cut the string before it caused internal damage. “Blah!”
Gray skid to a stop. Burning the string off first. Janine built her power up for a another move. Firing with a full build up.
The move Toxic flew through the air. Hitting against Gray’s back it looked like. But a slight flutter was heard in the air.
“Grrooo!” Gray turned around slamming his tail on the ground. Kicking up dust in the area. He used the move Sand-Attack to obscure vision. His legs bulged as he used Bulk-Up then charged forward. White steam leaving his body. The move Thrash increasing his ferocity every second. “No running away!”
Gray’s eyes shined locking her in place. The move Mean Look with additional aura and psychic power bearing down as well kept her in place. For safe measure, he used the move Disable as well.
‘I can’t move!’ Janine thought suprised. She didnt know about his psychic abilities. The more she struggled, the more her aura power ran out. ‘Protect!’ Using the move, a membrane appeared shielding her.
*Wham!* Gray’s fist attacked the barrier. An assault started instantly. The more he struck, the more power Thrash built up. Each blow knocking Janine deeper into the floor. Her legs started to buckle as sweat dripped down her face.
The move Protect kept the physical damage away. But the pressure was still there.
The next strike Gray jumped away. His eyes swirling as he fell under the after effect for a bit. Instantly confused it looke like to any one watching. Janine took that time to attack as soon as she could. Moving in high speeds creating an after image.
Her arms stretched out. All six as she used the move Poison Jab. The dark purple energy looked more devasting than anything poison wise that Gray came across before.
‘Well, that is just neat. Ready Titan?’ Gray thought to his partner wanting to try something out.
‘Yes.’ He received a gruff response. Titan released its aura blanketing the area in an instant. ‘She is to weak.’ The pokemon was annoyed. Even more annoyed Gray was not going for killing strikes. It needed stronger opponents and stronger battles.
*Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!* Each strike hitting Gray dead center in the chest. When the blows finished, no damage was visible really. Just a few scuffs. But a shiny coat lit up all across the front.
“You.. you changed your type.” Janine stepped back shocked. The ref to the side had a bad feeling about this. Even more so when Gray eyes shined with malice. “He is not through yet!” Her pokemon started to feel fear as Gray’s aura flared up with Titan’s. The aura of Dark Type King shining.
Janine was good enough to realize the danger she was in. She unleashed the move Bug Bomb to try and disrupt him in anyway. Well tried to anyway. Gray turned to the side with his tail coming around.
*Tap!* Janine jumped away canceling her attack. Airborne, she was vulnerable for another attack.
*Woosh!* Gray use Teleport. Not appearing behind her, but right upfront. Grabbing hold and moving to them to the ground. The good news for Janine was that she was able to bear the weight.
“Raaahhh!” A low growl left his mouth on instinct. Slight need to Beast out to enjoy themselves passed. The dark mist that left his mouth caused Janine to panic. As well as her Airados. “Food.” Gray and Titan’s voice overlapped.
They were messing with her, but a strong-willed opponent was perfect to test this against. Nidoking was after all a predator.
“Let me go!” She yelled back. But Gray clutched down. His arms wrapping her up more and more. The fangs of an Ariados extended further from her mouth. Stabbing into his neck but unable to breakthrough on the first attempt. “I said .. get off!”
*Splat!* Janine’s arm stabbed through an opening. But she couldn’t move it back to get free. Gray continued to clutch around her. He used the move Bulk Up in quick succession. Causing damage to Janine’s Pokefusion state.
“I will break you. Understand.” Gray said darkly. He picked them up and started hopping around. Slamming Janine into the Gym Floor. The blow causing damage to her and a little to himself. ‘Let’s see if we can perfect this move.’
As the two “Thrashed” into the area, Janine started having trouble breathing. A few blows to her head made it impossible to gather her thoughts.
*Wham!* Gray had jumped up really high and threw her down with excessive force. Angling for a full Body Slam! Aura energy disappeared from the arena as he came down. The place started to shake in response. Those in the stands felt queasy.
June u0026 Hilda were enjoying themselves. Hilda’s eyes watching every bit of the battle learning new control. June only keeping eyes on Gray’s temperament. Happy he kept control of himself.
“Ugh.. can’t lose.” Janine stood up on shaky legs. Her arms dropping to the side broken. Her aura shooting up fst healing her body. She started to shine brightly as she put everything into the next move. “I won’t give up!”
*Split!* Janine seperated into two. She used the move Double-Edge. Attacking gray from both sides with a headbutt. The Body Slam barely stopped as Gray smashed her into the arena floor.
“Janine!” The ref cried out. Nothing wanting his friend and gym leader to die, he rushed in. “Battle over! Winner challenger!” He dropped the flags after signaling. Sliding next to Janine as the aura dissipate. “Please be ok..”
“Humph!” Titan more than Gray snorted. His tail swished about. Raising a finger, a bit of aura went to heal Janine. The wounds and internal damage healing. “Has a way to go.”
*Shine!* Gray and Titan lit up separating. Barely injured really. Titan and himself were to dangerous of a combination. Even without perfect fusion.
“Well, can I have my badges now? She will be fine after sleeping it off.” Gray asked. Not wanting to spend to much time in the gym. He wanted to spend a little time going around before leaving. The ref nodded handing them over. Mouthing a thank you as well. “Later.”
As Gray left, Hilda and June met him at the exit.

June had grabbed Gray with Hilda. Pulling him along to the North of the city. A job was available to help open the place back up. The Pokemon Park was a bust. To many Pokemon were around the area causing an alarming need for trainers to actually capture pokemon.
Open reaching the area, Gray new why.
“There is a Pokemon Dungeon here.” He said. June nodded thinking that was the case. Hilda was excitied at the idea of going into a new Dungeon. But before that could happen, a brown white light shot down in front of the trio. “EH!?”
*Thump!* The sound was pretty loud for such a small Pokemon. It revealed itself to be an Eevee. But slightly bigger. It sat down on the back legs looking at Gray and spoke.
“Hello papa.” The Eevee said. it was another of the experiments. But unlike the others, it completely abandon it’s Mew form. Staying just an Eevee. “I have not found any one worth pairing with. So I choose you. Is that ok?”
The tone was neutral as it spoke. As if Gray said no, it would not be to bothered by it.
*Shine!* Savage hopped out of Hilda and looked her brother over. Giving him a sniff all over. She even bit him on the ear for some reason. Finding what she needed, she nudged his head playfully.
“He has killed someone.” She hopped back into Hilda after that. A slight smile on her face.
“No problem.” Gray reached down and rubbed it’s head. “A normal/ground type. You seem.. different. Can you change into something else?” The pokemon nodded. “A new Eevee evolution. Well, that is something to look into later. As for who you killed, did they deserve it?”
“Yes. They were sacrificing Pokemon for some ritual.” The Pokemon said as if it was nothing. A slight detachment in its voice. But also a little sadness. “But a trainer helped. I think he is a Pokemon Officer or something.”
The little pokemon yawned from exhaustion. Gray lifted it up and got in line to enter the Pokemon Dungeon. Hilda and June checking their Poke Gear for any info they could. Gray received a bubble informing about the situation.
(Trainer needs to secure Pokemon Dungeon before an outbreak occurs. Pokemon inside are more savage than normal.) The text came red but a blue background. Someone high up sent the info to him this time. (Trainer Team is heading to your location to join in a few days.)
“Well, at least the others did ok on their assignments.” Gray looked his pokegear over. Clair and Sabrina already confirmed they were on the way. Crystal, Silver, Abigal, Jackie and Bea did as well. Only Gary couldn’t make it. “Hmm, if only Growlithe was back.”
*Fwish!* A black blur shot to Gray. It was the Pokemon Mismagius. The same one from the trial. It floated around Gray before lifting a pokeball up and throwing it him. The intent was clear, it wanted to be captured.
“OK, but try not to fight with Darkrai.” Gray tossed the pokeball at it. It connected and sucked the pokemon inside. Not even a wiggle as it locked down. The ball lit up turning into an Expokeball. “Hmm, nice.”
“Yah know, I need a few more Pokemon myself. I hope I can get some nice one’s inside.” Hilda said. June just smiled. Two of her friends were close by and made their way over. “Why are you so happy?”
“Just two friends that want to meet Gray.” June looked up and behind them. “There they are right now.” The two she referred to had very powerful auras. “Cynthia and Diantha, good seeing you again.”
The two former champions smiled coming over. June had grown stronger since the last time they met. By a lot. Even the people with her were strong. Hilda was quite impressive. Wait till they felt her real aura not suppressed. The closer the two moved, they more their Dragon Poke souls stirred.
“You feel that?” Cynthia asked her partner Diantha. She just nodded. Both of their eyes turning like that of dragons. Gray was a powerful threat. “This is going to be really fun. TOld you we should have met up sooner.”
“Yeah yeah.” Diantha said. She rubbed her arm as Reshiram stirred. ‘What is wrong?’
‘He is the Judge. Be mindul of what you say.’ The pokemon said from within. ‘Your word carries a lot of weight.. and I can sense he is troubled.’ The words were enough to make The former champion think her initial greeting over. ‘Hopefully, Cynthia does not start a fight to early.’
