An Average Guy In A Shinobi World - Chapter 18

Rei finally arrived back in the hidden leaf asleep but with his father’s fear of his wife he sent rei first on the hospital so he could be checked and his wounds to be treated. Spending a day in the hospital rei woke up feeling sluggish for sleeping too long, he realizes that he was again on unfamiliar bed but then remembered he was here before… Rei thought to himself how much bad luck he has being in the hospital for two times in a row in just one year, he now imagines what would happen to him if he becomes a ninja how many times would he end up in the hospital. As he was thinking about his rotten luck his father mokichi came in to ask how he was doing.

Mokichi: yo son… how is it, ready to go home now?

Rei: yeah! but I’m still telling mom…

Mokichi: come on didn’t you have a great adventure with seiho…

Rei: not at all dad, I think seiho and I would do just fine even without that experience.

Mokichi: it was for training! now you guys look much sharper!

Rei: I’m still telling mom…

The father and son duo finally went home, rei finally release a sigh of relief since this place is what he could truly call home where love and warmth could be felt from his family unlike his apartment from his previous life where only a can of beer is waiting for him at home. Seeing rei entering the house fuyuki quickly carried him on her arms as a child rei’s weight is very light and could be easily carried. Hugging her son and giving him a kiss on the forehead fuyuki was just glad rei’s training in the wilds was finally finished but now rei has to tell her the whole story so that his father doesn’t toss him in a much more dangerous place in the future with no weapons. Rei explain in detail to his mother what exactly happened to him and seiho in the forest where they were supposed to be training turned survival training for the two. Mokichi tried to slowly sneak away and avoid being bombarded by questions and anger by fuyuki.

Fuyuki: Where are you going MOKICHI…

Mokichi: uhhmm just going to go grab shizuku to play with her and give her some snacks…

Fuyuki: this is not the end of this conversation you told me you’re going out to train with rei not toss him in somewhere for survival training and with no weapons… and going for shizuku are you going to toss her in the wilds as well?!

Mokichi: well I just thought rei would do just fine with his talents and prowess… I’ll never do that to shizuku dear you know that.

Fuyuki: that’s not an excuse for throwing your kid in the wilds with nothing and hopes he survive if this ever happens with shizuku you better pack all your stuff and live inside where you work at.

Mokichi: but we were following him all the while to prevent unfortunate things from happening. I promise I’ll never do this with shizuku ok…

Fuyuki: We will talk more later.

Mokichi knew that he is in trouble so he just has to take it all in since he knows he’s at fault but Rei selling him out to his wife even though he was already telling him not to made him think that his little son really could hold a grudge. So mokichi decided he’ll just increase his training so that when he throws rei for a survival adventure again in the future he won’t even have a scratch. Rei on the other hand was happy that somehow this time his mom is like at the kage level terrifying his father with just one move besides he loves training and doesn’t care how hard it is if that would make him become stronger but he just didn’t want to be thrown into fights with no preparation specially survival training with nothing on him.

Another morning came and the time for rei’s first day in the academy comes nearer and what you could hear in hidden leaf’s forest are the sound of metals clashing against each other and the sound of fist and kicks tearing through the air. The father and son duo are sparring again with even more vigor this time since rei came back from another “adventure” his movement became sharper and deadlier. Rei put some distance with his father and throw a couple of shurikens combining it with “clone technique” to make his shurikens difficult to dodge but this kind of basic move is extremely easy for mokichi to counter. Mokichi throw his own shurikens targeting the the real shurikens thrown by rei but that didn’t stop since he already attached wires on two of his shurikens altering its path targeting his father.

Mokichi was surprise that his son is already layering techniques like “clone technique” and “Manipulated shuriken technique” to get the advantage in his fights he then drew his kunai preparing to deflect or dodge if his son even over layer it again with “Manipulated Shuriken Wire Binding” to trap him. rei knew that his father was thinking of so he decided to slow down the other shuriken and channel his chakra through the strings and use “transformation technique” to turn it into fuma shuriken at the right time. Mokichi was complacent and deflected the first shuriken but then he was surprised that the supposedly regular shuriken turned into a deadly fuma shuriken instantly and about to hit him. Mokichi had no choice but to use “body replacement technique” to dodge he then use “body flicker” towards his son since rei’s technique in shurikenjutsu is improving at tremendous rate if a normal genin were to underestimate rei that person might just get himself bisected by a fuma shuriken and fighting with rei at range while not using ninjutsu is asking to be killed. Rei was concentrating on his range attacks when his father closed in on him he had no choice but to let go of his range strategy but before that he altered the fuma shuriken to boomerang back to him as he fights off his dad’s close combat tactics. Mokichi slashed towards his son upwards and with their weight difference it sent rei backwards so he followed up with “water release: raging waves”. Smilling Rei tried to keep his father in position so he responded with his own “water release: raging waves” waiting for the fuma shuriken to come back… now about to hit his father. Realizing the disturbance of the air mokichi’s experience tells him that he’s in danger so he hurriedly leaves his position and decided to overpower rei with his raw speed since fighting rei with the same physical abilities now become more dificult and dificult. To mokichi’s surprise he was almost bisected by a fuma shuriken coming from behind him so he decided to shamelessly over power and defeat him.

Mokichi: damn… you’re getting deadlier as the day goes by rei.

Rei: hehehe… what do you think of my layered traps dad?

Mokichi: definitely not academy level but don’t get cocky you might just get beaten by the other academy students.

Rei: I’ll just train more if I’m beaten in the academy.

Mokichi: that’s the spirit!

Hearing his son’s reply mokichi just felt lucky that his son is rei with the right mind for training and a creative mind for tactics in battle he now would worry less even if he became a ninja in the future trusting him that he could come back alive from every mission. The day for rei’s first day in the academy is now about to begin and him entering it at five years of age his one-year training with his father has now come to an end as well. Rei prepared for his first day and wearing a grey jacket with white inner shirt and mesh-armour underneath just in case he gets stabbed during sparrings wih a pair of black pants and their classic footwear in black. Rei also brought kunais and shurikens but when he was about to grab the fuma shuriken his father stopped him saying that it is not allowed to be used inside since it could kill someone instantly. Whille the family were having an early breakfast they talk about what rei should prepare himself for and finally leading to rei’s feeling for his first day in the academy.

Fuyuki: are you excited for your first day in school rei?

Rei: not really mom, I don’t even know what I’m going to do in school.

Fuyuki: don’t be like that you’ll make a lot of friends there.

Rei: I’ll try to make friends is seiho attenting the academy too mom?

Fuyuki: Yeah, he is going to be there as well.

Mokichi: There are a lot of things you could still learn in the academy rei so learn everything you can inside and become the best ninja in your own way.

Rei was not really excited about entering the academy since all he wants is the training time he’ll need so that he could get stronger so before he left the house he decided to leave a shadow clone to train in bukijutsu and taijustu even if it won’t enhance his physical ability but it would perfect his techniques, stances, and forms in close combat and shuriken throwing. Another thing that he is afraid of is interacting with the important characters of this world what if he somehow changes things preventing people from getting stronger that would just make things extremely complicated. Since his father told him to learn and there are still things he could learn inside the academy then he’ll just explore around and pick up the skills he could after all the more skills he has the more plans he could make.

Mokichi: Why are you leaving a shadow clone at home rei?

Rei: I want to train my bukijutsu and taijutsu as I attend the school dad…

Mokichi: You don’t really want to stop training huh?

Rei: Like you said dad a day of training is a little improvement and not missing a training for one year would be a big improvement!

Mokichi: Ok ok ok… just don’t be addicted to training enjoy the school and make friends!

Rei’s family accompanied him to go to school since it’s his first day they don’t want him to get lost and be late for his first day. Rei enjoyed being accompanied by his parents even though in his adult mind he is quite embarrass but since he is in a child’s body he just wants to enjoy his family’s love and care for him. As rei entered the school upon arriving to his said assigned classroom he was surprised to see nine familiar faces who in the future would belonged to team kakashi, team kurenai, and team asuma that he didn’t want to be acquainted with since he might just make a butterfly effect besides hanging out with them spells trouble seven to eight years from now when they graduate. Luckily a shout from a corner calling for his name got his attention.

Seiho: Rei, Over here!

Rei: Seiho, you’re early!

Seiho: You’re the one who’s almost late!

Rei: I woke up late hahaha…

Rei almost make up a reason for being late like obito or kakashi did in the original series but decided against it. Seiho invited him to sit beside him in class so that things don’t get boring since the two of them are already capable of holding their own and the things the academy might teach its students might just be things they already know. The very first thing that always happen every year is the gathering of new students for Hokage’s speech about the will of fire that the entire village is like a large family unit and every Konoha shinobi with the Will of Fire loves, believes, cherishes, and fights to protect the village, as previous generations had done before them. Which Rei’s case was just like watching a 3d movie turn virtual reality since he saw and read about it in his previous life. The hokage’s speech took effect on the kids even his best friend seiho was enthusiastic and driven by it so rei wonders if maybe there’s a genjutsu involve since he is always cautious so he tried to circulate his chakra violently in his body and found out that the hokage was just charismatic in the village. Rei would actually love to be friends with the hokage if he’ll teach him all the ninjutsu he knows heck he’ll even acknowledge him as grandfather since the third hokage has mastery over the five basic nature transformations being fire, wind, lightning, earth, and water.

The first day of rei in the ninja academy is going smoothly since aside from the ninja skills that’s being taught there’s also math, science, and geography which he was eager to find out if there’s any difference from his previous life well obviously in geography there will but for the others he was not sure. Rei found out that he would easily become part of the top students in the class since science and math are the same in his previous life only geography would probably pose a little bit of problem to him but it’s not something he can’t study anyway so he’ll get the hang of it really quickly. The day was going really fast and finally it reaches the time that everyone was waiting for ninja classes. A man with an average built walked in having black hair tied up in a ponytail and a scar across his nose bridge rei knew right away that it was Iruka umino who played a vital role in the original series in naruto’s life.

Iruka: I think this is the time you’ve been waiting for everyone.

everyone: yes, teacher!

Iruka: then let’s go to the training hall!

The students follow their teacher iruka to the training hall excited for what they will be learning today. among the students only shikamaru Nara looked too lazy to care about what’s happening but has to go follow everyone for the ninja class. Arriving at the training hall Iruka explain the safety rules inside and what can’t be done inside to make the training for everyone safe he then proceeds to teach the importance of throwing weapons such as kunais, shurikens, and senbons. Iruka showed everyone how to handle throwing weapons hitting his targets perfectly which leave his new students who hasn’t train yet in awe.

Naruto: I’ll definitely learn that fast believe it!

everyone just looked at naruto weirdly and why would he have to shout and get everyone’s attention. Iruka then allowed everyone to take turns in throwing their range weapons and he would gladly teach and correct the mistakes his students make. The very first one to volunteer with full of vigor was naruto walking at the field and threw his shurikens full of conviction sadly he just embarrass himself for not hitting the target properly iruka then tried to patiently teach him the correct why of throwing weapons. everyone somehow manage to hit their targets but sasuke uchiha on the other hand already showed amazing talent with his shurikenjutsu using the uchiha style. Seiho’s turn finally came and he just do it normally which surprised the other student’s since he did better than the others who came from a big clan. Rei just really don’t want to stand out so he just hit the targets normally with no flare or anything he really just want stay low key but as a chunin iruka still notice that rei didn’t waste and movements with his shuriken throwing technique.

Iruka: alright since we’ve seen how you guys throw your weapons some people would really need a lot of work so why don’t we partner up and the better one should teach the other ok since everyone is family. And naruto why Don’t you go with Miyazato Rei since he looks patient enough to teach you.

Naruto: Yes, Iruka sensei… – naruto said grumpily but followed anyway.

Rei: wait I don’t have a say in this?

Iruka: Come on rei and don’t be selfish everyone in the village is family just as the hokage said this morning.

Having left with nothing to say with Iruka’s reply rei had no choice but to spend some time with naruto which terrified Rei for the most because he just didn’t want to alter the story line making a mess out of it but who knows maybe having better aim naruto would fair better in the future he just thinks along the line as long as I don’t bother teaching him ninjutsu before graduating it’s ok. Naruto knows that he needs help since nobody has helped him learn anything related to being a ninja except the casual talk of the third hokage with him every now and then but he never really taught him anything useful.

Naruto: uuhhmmm… Can you teach me how this thing works?

Rei: sure, but no quitting on me ok?

Naruto nods eager to learn.

Rei taught naruto the proper way to handle shurikens and kunai when throwing and his actual technique to throw a barrage of shurikens. Naruto then ask him to show him if it’s really possible to do what he was saying then rei look around then when nobody was looking he quickly release his own barrage of shurikens almost equal to uchiha’s way of throwing techniques but the sound of his projectiles draws the attention of a few students and their teacher Iruka impress by his skills. Seeing this naruto became even more eager to learn from rei. The two talks about random things while practicing range weapon techniques until the end of the period quickly becoming friends.
