Anakdatu - Chapter 23:Going back to reality
Awwww, the feeling when you knew that the Christmas break is over and once again, you are going back to face reality again, face the school once again and once again, be pestered by the pests that are so-called as home works, do group activities at class wherein it will end up as an individual activity because no one ever cared about group cooperation and such. Yeah, those kinds of things and honestly speaking, I kinda missed school too, I missed my friends too and I know it has just been like two weeks since last I saw them, but maybe that is the effect of having friends, the longing for each other even it was just a very short time but yeah, you get the point.
I woke up realizing it’s already January 6th and tomorrow will be the start of the classes once again, ugh the feels of going back once again to class and the sadness too once again because I will leave this place again and it will be sometime again for me to be with my parents again.
I stood up and figured out I should enjoy my time here in The Hut before this day ends because Macabulos told me that I will depart for Batangas City in 1600 hours with my staff once again. I don’t want yet to go.
I dressed up first for my workout clothes which consists an army green shirt (my favorite color by the way), and gray shorts and a pair of cross training shoes and then I went to the gym. I did my routine as I ever did every day and I ate my breakfast and went for the lounge to chill because I’ve got nothing to do anyway.
Oh yes, my dear readers, I tell you, this two weeks of a Christmas vacation is really awesome and with that time so short, I utilized it very properly and also, The Hut makes a very awesome Christmas party. So here, I’ll tell you guys the summary of my Christmas break.
Well, I bonded with my parents most of the time, told them stories of my misadventures, school, the guys who tried attacking my damsel, my friends and also the other things like my so-called grandmother and aunt. The time I told them about my “aunt”, they just looked at each other like as always, a conspiratory look at each other, a very deep secret that it is not my place to know of in which has something to do with my deeper past and my family, I don’t know but it kind of makes me mad and sad at my parents, like I do not belong to them nor worth of telling a secret to me.
I tried asking them why I can’t know that but all they say is that I am not old enough to know about that but yeah, bruh. So moving on, the Christmas party my friends, it’s very awesome! There are parlor games, lots of foods for the noche buena, sing-alongs, exchange gifts a la monito-monitas which is very exciting and guess what, I got a box of briefs as a Christmas present, yeah, laugh on, but it kinda funny too.
The sad part of my story is I didn’t got the chance to mess up Macabulos and Sikatuna because they seem to be very busy at times, like busy about missions and Anakdatu things so I figured out that the timing is kinda off and I may destroy the world if I let their focus down in their jobs.
Yeah, the highlight of my two weeks is just the Christmas party and my parents even they have a secret to keep. It’s not that much but I treasured all these times that passed.
So back again in the present day,
After some minutes, Pagbuaya sat to in the lounge to read the daily paper. I started a conversation about weapons and how to use those, after all, he is the weapon specialist so he gave me tips, so much tips like using a sniper in the other hand and a sword in the other which is very impractical but helpful and after some minutes, he bade farewell and wished me luck on going back to Batangas City because he will train for awhile. I am alone once again and my parents are also doing their staff things.
And the whole day, I just chilled here at the lounge.
The hour 1600 came and it’s time to go back, ugh. I prepared my things once again, bade farewell to my mom and dad and wished me luck and told me to take care and also not to trust anybody that much because that is the greatest weakness of Datu Putis, my father reminded me, so I kept that in mind. I went to the elevator, once again, back to the outside world, rode the car with my staff and I just dozed off while on the way.
Around 1900 hours, we got back to The Hut jr., and I was woken up by my staff that we are home so I just lugged my things to my room and slept once again, I really feel bad for going away The Hut so I am not in any mood to tell my story and there is also nothing that much to tell but yeah, it’s really sad so I slept.
***
Today is a new day, I told myself, I woke up feeling happy, yes, yes, I know that you are probably asking ‘Are you insane? Last night, you were just sad and too lazy to tell more about your story and now you are back to normal?’, yeah, I am that awesome, I really just missed my friends and I am very excited to meet them once again! Yay! So hurriedly, I stood up, did my daily routine, wore my uniform and headed to the campus once again.
Oh I missed this prison of a school! The crowded gate every morning as lots of students enter, the smell of the good food in the cafeteria, the hallways, the rooms, and then I saw Elise sitting in a bench on the front of our room which immediately put a smile on my face.
I approached her stealthily because she seemed to be absorbed on the novel that she is reading, I went through her back and attempt to cover her eyes.
But she elbowed me to my gut, a very skilled, mindful and alert lady.
“Oof,” as she elbowed me “What was that for? And what now? Christmas break passed and you’ve got eyes on the back of your neck?”
She looked back at me and smiled “No, you are just as stupid as always, and you didn’t fetch me at home.” She laughed “Sit with me,” she skirted to the left of the bench for me to sit so I sat “we’ve got fifteen minutes before the time and I think my writing sucks because of the Christmas break and I haven’t written anything.”
I laughed “The Christmas break just ended and we haven’t talked for some time too so maybe you changed the time you prepare and stuffs so, it’s your fault. And happy new year too Elise” And I noticed John’s absence. He always gets to school early, earlier than us two. “Oh wait, where is John? Shouldn’t be here around somewhere? Or maybe he is hiding from us two and he is going to surprise us?”
Elise smirked as she reads her novel “John moved with his family somewhere no one knows where, that is what I heard from the rumors around our street. He moved out the day you visited me from Christmas which is kinda weird and I want to punch him for ditching us both. He didn’t even tell us or at least let us know.” She said as she stared far away and puffed her cheeks.
I really felt that something is wrong with John like he is kind of distant. I didn’t confess to him or something like what I did with Elise, so why? Maybe that is why he is acting like that because they are moving out and he is sad about it and stuffs but I don’t know, that doesn’t seem like the John Delmundo that I knew from my fight with the Janitors.
“Bummer.” I told Elise.
We sat there for awhile until the bell rang and it’s time for me to go back to reality, and now, even it is sad, it’s just me and Elise for John left us in mid air.
The day happened and I really felt sad once again for what John did. I just cannot believe it and it struck me, he is my very first friend, and according to him, his only friend, friends with me and Elise and now, just like that, he disappears. I really want to punch him in the gut for that.
Oh well, I shook that off me and it’s time to be back in reality. Be a regular agent, protect Elise and well, study hard. I love my life. #StuDying. And I hope, as school is almost ending, like two more months, I really hope nothing will bother my damsel anymore, please bad guys?
They didn’t sound pleased, they got madder.
