Anamnesis: Queen of the Apocalypse - Chapter 94
Within the wide parameters, a delicate array that meticulously hid beneath the wasteland. You command one of the angry clones currently torturing a turtle-like calamity with a happy expression to join the scouting team finding the continuation of the array.
“Lues, can you tap in my clones?” you say, wondering if she can control the clone to view their vision. “I think they’ve found a hidden array.”
“Consider it done!” Lues places both of hands forward. Her wrist-gauntlets light up as she tries to use more mana than usual to control her clones.
A report is sent to your mana sea from your Chi of Decidit’s hive mind. The message is as follows, ‘Mama, someone tapped into the system, do we allow it? Is it papa?’
‘No! The pact I made with Lues was a family pact—wait.’
Lues only mentioned that both of you are a small family in the chant, not siblings.
‘Nooo!’
“A high grade array,” Lues states. She then tried to conjure a spherical lump of delicate circuits formation between her palms. “It is a dimensional array, we might hit a jackpot.”
“Dimensional array? That sounds ominous.”
Lues hurls the ball forward as it seeks the array like a hungry piranha, slamming into the ground. Dense energy disperses from it, visibly slithering to the center to reveal an entity not bound by the space around it.
Your clones immediately treated the entity as high-level hostile. Ten of them rush to the center of the dying array with their hands dragging the ground before launching a strike.
In just the blink of an eye, eight of the clones are turned into smithereens with just a slash from its limb. Elongated arms, armored from head to toe, a monstrous knight waiting for his enemies to come to him.
“That thing must be Laum,” says the crimson devil while she stretches her shoulders. “It seems like we should do it the hard way,”
“No! Wait! Lemme try something first.”
Brain notices a variable from the humanoid Calamity. He didn’t move an inch from his place. Anxie scans the fluctuations of energy and she notes that Laum is currently building up something. She sends the data into you and Brain as she manages multiple reports from the clone’s hive mind while being in charge of commanding some of them to achieve the most efficient results.
“This Calamity was hiding to recharge his energy!” Brain shouts within the consciousness headquarters. “The array was for him to build it up, even until now. We mustn’t let it finish!”
“Anxie! Have you analyzed the dimensional array back then?”
“Uhm, it separates the space from the outside world but not the time. I think it wasn’t powerful enough to do so, if he was going to unleash the energy then he might want to remove the barrier array in the end,” Anxie says.
“So the barrier was only for hiding?”
“I have suggestions,” Brain says. “We could try utilizing 20% of our deposited mana to entrap the Calamity into a dome that it can’t interact with! He didn’t move an inch, if he does, he might make the energy he accumulated to disperse, so why don’t we trap it?”
Taking Brain’s suggestions into consideration, you continue your speech to Lues, “let’s trap it instead, I think he can’t even break our barrier without breaking the accumulated energy.”
“I’ll replicate the dimensional barrier where only I can tamper with, lend me some of your mana,” she says with a grin.
“Urgh, no kissing.”
But she does it anyway. You only have your cheeks red from the embarrassment.
With the enormous amount of high quality mana she absorbs from you, Lues conjures a similar kind of array near the Laum. Blazing in crimson red as if the devil kindled it. The dimensional barrier looks translucent unlike the former barrier you perceive.
And just like that, Laum is subdued.
“It was easier than we thought,” you say, donning a poker face.
Lues taps her cranium to cast a communication line to your leader. “Zenon Squad reporting, Laum has been subdued.”
Ratatoskr connects you to the wavelength before replying, “Ahahahah! I see great work from both of you from here! Do report in if you want to switch being on the frontline.”
“Don’t worry about it chief,” you say, happy after getting praise. “Both of us can handle it alone, the main squad can rest easy there.”
“I expect no less from both of you! We’ll be eating barbeque after this muahahaha!”
You feel more confident in some way after seperating your consciousness. Well, the part of you. As the ‘Logic’ of the crew, it seems like you can keep your superior having a good image of you if you can keep Anxie away from the controls.
“Huwaa, I knew it! I’m a dead weight afterall!”
“No!” You immediately reply to Anxie’s tantrum. “You’re not being a dead weight if we didn’t pull your weight to begin with!”
“HUWEEEEEE!”
Brain joins in. “Logic, you idiot!”
“I’m not wrong! I’m telling the truth!”
Seems like Anxie has enough IQ to deduce what the other parallel minds were thinking, this is what anxiety did to you back then, always overthinking and kept grabbing the bad assumption in hand rather than the positive one.
From 35, you lose 8 of the clones. It seems like the hive mind is severely punished by the system. The guilt is contagious because somehow you don’t want to tinker with the system anymore as it might create an error to the sentient AI. However, it did empower their anger to hunt more Calamities on the battlefield like an even hungrier tiger.
They also give you enough blood and material you can use to create more clones. But this time, you want to make a stronger variant.
By adding more mana into the vessel, the swirling elemental essences begin to syphon with the metaphysical energy to create a mana core for the newest clones. Unlike the other clones, the latest one brims with strong blue as numerous wisps fly near it. You’ll call it the ‘Mage Clone.’
‘Mage Clone’ acquired.
The hive mind immediately channel their connection to the newest specimen. Like usual, it makes an extremely angry face the moment it’s active. Numerous data is sent to the mana sea of how the hive mind is trying to adapt to the new feature of the unique clone vessel.
As a reference, you input your Sun Creation’s circuit schematic for them to use and utilize. The hive mind is not only able to create a copy of the circuit immediately, but it also broke it down to learn the sub circuit formation like the Electricity Generator circuit, Magnetic Virus Vessel, Fireball Spell circuit, etc.
‘We need destruction.’
The Mage Clone leaves a sonic boom as it departs to the sky. She is at the height where the titan type Calamities can’t even reach her, looking down at those monstrosities as if they were ants. The clone then starts to cast the Sun Creation spell.
Accumulating a fiery magma that disturbs the gravitation of anything that is near, the sand and some parts of the ground is sucked into the dense ball of plasma. It is ten times the size of the clone itself!
The clone then hurls the sun into the never-ending horde of Calamities. It eats everything in its path before the clone shrinks the sun bomb to create a mini supernova.
The destruction to the wasteland can be seen from the other frontline as the clone contracts the explosion to shapes like a pillar, clearing the gloomy clouds and illuminating the sky with red of carnage.
