Anna Lu - Chapter 63 You've Been Lying?
After making their engagement public, Li Chen decided that it would proper for Chesa to meet his father so they went to the Duan mansion.
His father especially wanted to meet Chesa, his father already found out about he and his brother’s identity switch and was extremely disappointed. His health declined and he had no other choice but to resign as general.
He had been sad the past year so when he heard that his son had fallen in love and wanted to get married, he was happy that at least something good would finally happen.
Chesa was nervous when first came but the old man treated her so well, he seemed to be fond of her alot as he spike to her about the brother’s embarrassing childhood moments and asked her a few questions as well.
He had heard from Li Chen that she and her family were not on good terms anymore so he was sure enough not to bring them up.
After much coaxing, he finally convinced Chesa to stay for a few more days using the excuse that he was lonely.
Chesa wanted to reject but she herself was having too much fun with the old man.
After dinner, the old man retired early promising Chesa a whole day of fun before leaving.
Chesa was given a guest room although Li Chen tried to force her many times to stay in his room but she out right rejected him.
Chesa stared at the grown man who was shameless enough to pout and a smile appeared on her lips.
“Good night” She said before closing the door behind her.
Chesa couldn’t sleep that night, tossing and turning because she was too excited. She had loved him for so many years and now they were actually getting married! She felt like she was living a dream, afraid that when she wakes up it would all be over.
“Calm down Chesa….breath” she muttered to her self reaching for the jug of water.
‘Huh?…..I already drank it all?’ Chesa sighed to herself and got down from the bed heading for the door.
Just as she opened the door, she heard footsteps from the opposite room. That was Li Chen’s room.
Chesa saw him walk out of his room with light steps, she wanted to call his name but she saw him going to the next room.
She was told that it was Su Chen’s room, was he missing his brother?.
Chesa decided to follow him, he probably needed comfort right now.
When she opened the door she was shocked at what she saw…
“Little brother….I’m getting married. Could you at least wake up before my wedding?” Li Chen sighed holding his brother’s hand “You promised to be my best man when we were five remember?…you said you were going to…..” Li Chen laughed bitterly “Walk me down the aisle….”
“You’ve been lying to me this whole time?”
Li Chen quickly turned around and walked up to her “Chesa I’m sorry” He said trying to pull her into his embrace.
She slapped his hand away and her tears fell freely.
“Was is fun?…to hear me speak about him all the time like he was dead, to watch me cry over the loss of my best friend?….was it fun?”
Li Chen closed his eyes and took a deep breath, he didn’t have any words to say. He knew she was angry at him for keeping such a secret from her but his father specifically him not to tell anyone.
“I’m sorry….” Li Chen apologized again with is head hung low.
When Chesa was about to say something, there was a light cough almost in audible. But it didn’t pass their ears. Both of them turned their heads to the man on the bed. His eyes were slightly open, adjusting to the light.
“Brother!”
“Su Chen!” both of them ran towards him.
Li Chen had a huge smiled his face, “Brother…..you’re awake!”
The man on the bed looked at the two people with a confused expression “Do…..do I know you?….” His voice was hoarse but his words set alarms ringing in their heads.
Seeing their mortified expressions, the man on the bed laughed with a hoarse voice annoying both Chesa and Li Chen.
“What the heck Su Chen!” Chesa glared at him wanting to wipe that stupid smile off his face.
“You should have…..seen..y…your faces” Su Chen continued to laugh.
“It wasn’t funny” Li Chen said with a faint smile on his lips, he called the nurse afterwards while still making faces at his brother.
Su Chen looked less pale than a year ago, the nurse said that he was quite healthy now making everyone heave a sigh of relief.
“Don’t ever do something like that next time” Chesa pouted, she almost thought that the guy had lost his memory.
