In an unknown location.
Entitiy #2: “How’s Mr. Parker’s progress?”
Two entities are chatting together. One of them is the one who keeps observing Leon and the other is asking for any updates.
(AC: I’ll just name them Entity #1, whose observing Leon, and the other is Entity #2)
Entity #1: “So far, he’s progressing very slowly. He’s always follows the plot rather than changing it. He’s changing some small details but not too the point that has drastic change. He has no sense of urgency.”
Entity #2: “I see.”
Entity #1: “Do you want me to interfere?” [Grins]
Entity #2: “For now, no. Just keep observing. I believe he’s about to do something very interesting in the near future.”
Entity #1: “How so?”
Entity #2: “Mr. Parker doesn’t notice it but he’s a power hungry individual. You know what will happen to those power hungry individuals?”
Entitiy #1: [Grins wider]. Unprecedented consequence.”
Entitiy #2: “Indeed.”
(Leon POV)
Weiss: “Professor Oobleck?”
Oobleck: “That’s Dr. Oobleck to you Miss Schnee.”
Oobleck notice the bags, explains something about the bags are unnecessary and this is simply a reconnaissance mission. So must survive the mission to whatever we can and whatever we have.
Leon: “Alright, give me your bags. I’ll just put them in my inventory.”
Weiss: “Much oblige.”
Blake: “Thanks.”
Oobleck: “AhrightyouhavetheinventoryabilityMr.Parker.That’sveryconvinientanduniquesemblanceifidosaysomyself.”
Leon: ‘How can you talk like that just in one breathe?!’ “Thank you for the compliment Dr. Oobleck.”
Ruby didn’t give me her backpack.
Ruby: “Oh just don’t mind me. I have personal stuff in my backpack.”
Leon: “Umm alright then.”
Oobleck: “Alrightchildrenwe’rebehind3minuteschedule.”
Then he zooms and then appears besides the airship.
Ruby: “Looks like we’re gonna save the world with Dr. Oobleck okay yeah when you say it out loud it sounds worse.”
Nora: “Save the world?”
We heard Nora behind us and we saw team JNPR walk towards us. Nora complains that we’re gonna save the world without her. Then she complains that she’s hungry and accuse Ren for being hungry. Then Sun and Neptune came along and we all chit chat about our missions. Team JNPR has their own mission and will be setting out tomorrow. Sun and Neptune also have their own mission and will be in the kingdom to do some investigation. Dr. Oobleck calls us out that it’s 4 minutes behind schedule.
Leon: “Well it’s time for us to go.”
Ruby: “Yeah. Wish us luck.”
Everyone part ways and we took off.
Dr. Oobleck explains about the South East squadron outside of Vale. It’s the location of wild boars and deep cave. It also the one of kingdom’s greatest failure.
Ruby: “Mountain Glenn”
Yang: “That’s right. It’s the first attempt of expansion of Vale but in the end, it failed because it was overrun by Grimm.”
Oobleck: “Correct! Now, it is abandoned.”
Blake: “Likely place for a hideout.”
Oobleck: “Precisely.”
I was listening to their conversation while Neo is super excited for the trip. We arrive at our destination and we landed safely. The place was in ruins. Broken buildings, broken debris and no one is in sight. It was a ghost town.
Oobleck: “Ladies and Leon. You may be students but as of now, you are all huntsmen and huntresses. Your first mission as a huntsmen and huntresses has begun. You need to do exactly as I said. Do you understand?”
Everyone nods.
Oobleck: “Rubywhydidn’tyougiveyourbagtoLeon?”
Ruby tries to explain but she can’t think of a good excuse.
Oobleck: “WhatissoimportantinthatbagofyoursthatyoucangivetoLeon?”
Something came out of Ruby’s bag and it was the head of her pet dog Zwei.
Oobleck: “Where here to investigate an abandoned urban jungle teaming with death and hostility and you brought a dog.”
Ruby: “I-”
Oobleck: “Genius!”
Then Dr. Oobleck grab Zwei and explains the capabilities of the K-9.
Ruby: [Smugs] “I’m a genius.”
Blake ask Dr. Oobleck about the mission and Dr. Oobleck drops Zwei on the ground. I stop listening to Dr. Oobleck all of his rambling and Neo squats down and grab Zwei. Zwei barks and lick Neo’s face and she hugs Zwei so tightly. I summon some dog biscuit and gave it to Zwei. Zwei sniff the biscuit and ate it all. Zwei is so cute. I pet him and he seems to be enjoying it.
Oobleck: “ANDNOWTHEY’VESEENUS!”
Me and Neo got startled and saw a pack of Beowolf Grimms running towards us.
Yang: “What’s the plan?”
Oobleck: “Show me what you’re capable of.”
Team RWBY and Neo attack the Grimms. I was about to join but Dr. Oobleck stop me.
Oobleck: “IknowyourcapableofdefeatingthoseGrimssolettheothersgainexperienceinthisfightalrightMr.Parker?”
I pouted and just observe the fight. While waiting, I pick up Zwei and pet him. Zwei bark happily at me and just watch the fight. Zwei is pretty smart dog. I don’t know if he understand human language but he’s a well-trained dog. I see the battle and the girls using their magic out in the open. I check out Oobleck’s expression and he looks calm. Probably he thinks the girls are using their semblance or dust during the fight. He doesn’t suspect that the girls are using their magic. Well nobody knows about magic except for those who has magic.
The fight ends and the girls pretty much massacred the Grimms.
Ruby: “Pretty easy.”
Leon: “For now at least.”
It’s been hours and the girls keep massacring the Grimms while Me, Dr. Oobleck and Zwei are just watching from the distance. The girls are getting tired from the constant fighting. I throw them some bottle of water to rehydrate themselves. Oobleck observes that there’s no criminal activity in this area but we still continue our investigation. While fighting, Dr. Oobleck questions everyone about their purpose of being a huntress and a huntsmen. He already ask questioned everyone and I’m the last.
Oobleck: “So what’s your purpose of being a huntsman Leon?”
Leon: “There’s no reason. I just felt doing it.”
Oobleck: “You don’t need money, fame and/or something else?”
Leon: “I’m already rich so money is not a problem. Fame is a hassle for me. I don’t need a reason to do what I want. But if you really want a reason. It maybe because it felt good doing it.”
Oobleck: “Felt good? How so?”
Leon: “I don’t know. Maybe because I’ve already attain what I want in my life so that I don’t have a sense of purpose? Maybe that’s the reason why I just want to fight and have fun with others because to fill the empty void that I feel?”
I then realize that I’ve forgotten my purpose or do I really have any purpose in the first place?
Oobleck: “May I ask if what your previous purpose is?”
I shake my head.
Oobleck: “Very well. I won’t pry your privacy but I may suggest one thing. If you don’t have a purpose currently, then create one.”
I think about it and it was a simple answer but it was the answer I need to hear.
Leon: “Thanks.”
Oobleck: “You’re welcome. I will let you think about while me and the team prepare the tent.”
I nod and walk aimlessly. I open my objectives and it’s been a long time since I open it.
My previous objectives are still there. Money and Stronger. Money is not a problem anymore but when I look at the word stronger, it felt like I didn’t complete it.
Leon: ‘That’s right. I forgot that getting stronger is unending. That’s why I feel that it’s not enough.
I contemplate on how to get stronger and a light bulb appeared on my head. I grin and I’ve already has an idea on how to get stronger.
