- Chapter 930: T.D.O.N.B: S4G, Part III - The Fury Of Blows
The overlord was wearing a military uniform of sorts. Mostly red, and seemingly made out of velvet. There were a few brooches on the left part of his chest, but except for that, the golden buttons, and tassels on his shoulders, it was all monochromatic.
The shape of the head was very strange. The neck itself was thick, but the chin was rather small with very prominent cheekbones, and large, completely black eyes above. He didn’t seem to have any hair, but most of his head was obscured by the officer’s cap. Also, obviously, red.
He seemed very human anatomy-wise, but the skin was grey.
Even before I was able to go after him, he just extended his hand like he wished to push me from afar. Before I even knew it, I was flying away, shoved by some unknown power. Because of the sudden attack, I lost a grip on my weapon, and it fell out of my hand.
I quickly realized that I am in possession of skills that can prevent this, so I used them and immediately stopped.
I was able to detect the telekinetic abilities when I saw them in action or was able to feel them around me, but what he did, was something entirely else. What exactly? I didn’t know. All I knew was that I got pushed back.
Obviously, I charged at him almost immediately, readying myself for an attack, and as I got closer, I used some fancy feet technique, to change direction. I was about to punch him, but he grabbed my fist, blocking the powerful attack. It was so strong that even the city, or rather what was left of it by that time, felt the impact.
The cap fell off his head, revealing a bald skull, but that was mostly it.
I followed up with a knee to the ribs, but he blocked that attack as well. That was a very clear indication to me, that at least at that moment, we were of similar strength.
His expressionless face gave out a feeling of confidence, that no matter what I could do, he had enough power to defeat me.
I was already using some Ki, but there was other stuff I could tap into too. For example, ‘Wrath’ was linking my anger to my strength, and I was getting pissed that the attack was not working, so each strike was stronger than before.
I needed something more sudden, though, so I, for the first time in quite a while, tapped into ‘Indomitable’, making my next punch way beyond anything else I’ve shown so far.
It felt like I didn’t even do anything. So fast, so powerful, that it felt like I didn’t really move. Suddenly everything around us, and I don’t mean the city below, but the air surrounding the two of us was on fire.
The oxygen combusted from the power of my strike, reached the chest of the overlord, blasting him away with such a violent force, the area under us, already severely trashed, dot just flattened. It was like the world itself freaked out, and all the guardians, including my friends, were sent flying just because of the spilled energy.
The dome above us even briefly opened.
I didn’t expect anything like that, especially not the aftereffect. The winds that started after, were terrible. Fortunately, there was no dust in the air, and no rubble to be raised, so the vicinity reminded rather clear.
Just by being in close proximity to the attacks, a bunch of aliens got killed.
For a second I thought about diving down and heading for the plaza, but I never got a chance. The overlord returned, he had blood on his mouth and seemed angry.
He rammed into me with an unbelievable speed. It happened only because I allowed myself to get distracted by the fruit.
Because I was almost completely locked in space, the attack was actually worse. I should feel the terrible impact, and also saw his surprise when he actually bounced off of me.
I did a follow-up kick to his head, again tipping into ‘Indomitable’, but this time he actually was prepared. Using a similar force as me, to lock himself in a single spot, and also blocking with two hands, this time he didn’t end up flying.
There wasn’t that much oxygen around to burst into flames, but just the sheer force created plasma out of it, which quickly cooled down.
He answered with a punch to my gut. I could feel the organs inside bursting from the sheer force, and the tingling sensation of them immediately regenerating.
The fight very quickly turned into a match of endurance. An all-out war of punches. The one who could take the most would win. Each one of them was putting so much pressure on the planet below, that the crater we already created started to go deeper and deeper.
Both with bloody faces, unable to really see because of the swollen eyes. At least not physically, we continued this monstrous exchange. It was getting awfully bad for me. I needed to find a quick solution, and my mind was not used to actually squeezing the most from my potential, because there wasn’t simply a good opponent to push me that hard, had problems with figuring out the proper path, but fortunately, I managed to remember at least something.
A skill I never used before. ‘Shattering blow’.
I punched the overlord gith in the gut, and I was able to see the full reaction immediately. As the energy spread through his body, he bent because of the impact. Veins suddenly appeared on his face as a burst of blood came out of his mouth, right into my face.
Disgusting, but actually useful, because of my ‘Gene-absorbtion’ skill. I followed with a combination of blows, breaking his bones, and practically turning the body into a pulp of minced meat. Ded fell down from the sky.
Gasping heavily, I looked around for my friends, but there was nobody in the area I could see with my eyes. I healed them quickly, but it didn’t change much.
