Another War - 11 Third Rank Seat Part 2
Ranger lowered himself on the ground while the swords remained hovering on his back like wings. He was waiting for the next move of Yule.
With his right arm fully outstretched while holding his spear, Yule charged at Ranger again where he yelled on top his lungs, yelling all his frustrations on this fight.
His opponent not breaking the smile he was wearing, suddenly lowered his body and stabbed the ground with the swords he was holding.
Not bothered by the unusual move of Ranger, he didn’t halt his charging at his opponent.
Then-
“Thundershock!” Ranger shouted.
Yule tried to halt his momentum, sensing an incoming powerful attack.
The ground started to tremble and vibrations were felt from where Yule was standing.
And two pillars of light erupted on the ground and started heading on Yule’s direction.
Those pillars were made of up of thousands of voltages and continuously erupting on the ground heading to the intended target.
Yule was cornered with nowhere to go when he had this sudden urge to stab his spear into the ground also. Following this urge, Yule raised the spear and sent it to the ground, piercing it.
The electrical pillars were already inches away from him when –
“Second Form! Lunar Monument!” he shouted.
The ground started to tremble again. They could also hear a rumble beneath the ground. Then, spears started poking from the ground.

The spears had the same appearance from the spear that Yule was holding. And each spear that sprouted from below slowly shattered the incoming electrical pillars. The ground produced more spears until there were no longer traces of Ranger’s attack.
But those spears continued their way, pushing until they reach Ranger.
Quick on his feet, Ranger leaped in the air and pushed higher until he could no longer reach by them.
“Almost had me there, Yule!”
Yule just clicked his tongue, frustrated that he almost had Ranger on his attack. But something made him stopped.
Behind Ranger, the eight swords started to form a circular shape, preparing for another attack.
If the swords launched their energy blast again, it would be a direct hit to Yule since he was already cornered on his spot while his spear was still stuck in the ground.
“I better conclude this before things get messier,” Ranger announced from above.
Small ball of lights started appearing on the tips of the swords, ready to launch full blast upon Ranger’s signal.
Yule tried to pull his spear, but it was not moving an inch from his pull. He twisted his spear clockwise that was when he noticed something from afar.
A single spear extended its length when he twisted the main spear on his grip. When he tried to twist it again, the spear from afar extended again.
Without noticing the movements below, Ranger outstretched his hand down and eight energy blasts launched behind him.
Before the energy blasts hit him, Yule twisted his spear in the ground with all his might.
That was when Ranger noticed a single spear extended its length out of nowhere. The spear pierced all the energy blasts, dissipating the blasts into thin air.
Other spears stuck on the ground turned to pieces also, leaving a long single spear hanging in the air.
Yule took this chance and twisted more his spear. The long spear went upward.
Caught off guard by this sudden development, Ranger had little time to avoid the incoming blade of the spear, so –
Ranger raised his right yellow sword to defend himself, and the two weapons clashed in the air. The yellow sword and violet spear.
“And the fight is over!” Professor Fields announced.
“W-wait!” Ranger stuttered.
On the other side, Yule was panting heavily surprised also at the sudden announcement of their professor.
“The fight is over now, Ranger. Yule landed a hit on you, specifically on your blade.”
“But he didn’t hit me anywhere on my body. I’m still unscathed!” he shouted.
“I didn’t say that Yule needs to land a hit on your body. What I said is when Yule lands a hit on you, and he successfully landed a hit on your sword.”
“But that’s unfair! You didn’t explain to me fully the mechanics!” He returned on the ground again and a ball of light covered his entire body. After the light blinked out, the swords were now gone on his hands and behind him.
A white light also covered Yule’s spears and returned back on his chest. When the spear winked out from his grasp, he fell on his knees feeling the fatigue of the fight. With his body feeling heavy, Yule was just staring at the ceiling basking on his win.
Then a ringing tone interrupted them, it was coming from Professor Fields’ pocket. He pulled his device from the pocket and tapped on the glass screen. The professor tilted his head after reading the message and looked at his three students.
“Good news, guys! We’re being summoned for an extermination quest.” He announced to them.
Sanna looked pleased when she heard the professor’s announcement. On the platform, Ranger was still complaining about the unfairness of the fight’s rule while Yule sighed heavily, thinking about how he could move his body.
“Don’t worry, Yule. We will do the briefing tomorrow morning. Six AM sharp.”
