Another War - 29 Rescue Mission Part 4
Yule never finished his thoughts when the woman in the black dress turned her annoyed gaze at him. She greeted him with piercing red eyes while her right hand remained in the air, continuing her process of absorption to the pitiful girl.
“Well, look what we have here?” She said in a playful tone, showing her sharp teeth at Yule.
He trod carefully, as he braved himself to inch closer to Candace and to the unknown woman. The woman in black smiled at Yule, appreciating her daunting action.
“Let my friend go,” he said in a commanding tone. “And no one will get hurt.”
The woman chuckled at him and lowered her right hand, halting the absorption process.
“What if I want you to get hurt?” She combed her long black hair through her hands as if she was already getting bored in their conversation. The woman inched closer to Yule which made him back stepped.
He could not pinpoint it, but there was something wrong with the woman. She looked very intimidating and beautiful at the same time, in a very dark way.
“I don’t want to hurt you. So please give my friend back.”
The woman roared with a laugh as she looked back again at Candace who was unconscious and floating in mid-air.
“This is what I want with humans. You’re all so naive when you face a human-looking figure. That happened also to that dumb girl. The moment she had seen me, she lowered her guards, and that was when I took my chance and grabbed her.”
“Y-You’re an aswang, aren’t you?” As soon as he said it, he swung his violet spear at her, readying himself to attack anytime.
“Proudly.” She showed her sharp teeth at him again then her red eyes started glowing. The air around the large room begun gathering around her, blowing her long black hair like a ruffled mane.

Yule tried to cover his eyes as dust and small stones flew around them. It was like they were in the eye of the storm, as the woman continued gathering the air around them.
‘I need to get out of her radius. If this goes on, I will have difficulty in breathing,’ he thought. He tried to move his feet, but the gust was making it harder for him to lift his legs. He stomped the spear on the ground, using it as a cane to support him.
The woman in black roared with laughter again, as she watched the pitiful human struggling to get away from his position. She continued playing with the air current around the room while Yule started to huddle himself as he was starting to breathe in a very difficult manner.
Yule gripped tightly on his spear when his visions started to get cloudy. He could feel that he will faint anytime soon if this continues. Then the wind started to change, at first, it was just flapping his clothes violently, then it escalated quickly to like a lashing sensation. It started with his white coat when the wind lashed at him and cutting a small portion of his clothing. The wind made some small cuts on his arms and pants, while Yule tried to protect his face from the lashing.
“What now, human? What’s your next move? Still sticking with ‘I don’t want to hurt you?’” She scoffed at him and continued lashing the wind to her target.
The wind blew vehemently at him, pressing his body to the ground despite steeling himself from the pressure. It continued to lash his body with small cuts, forcing him to weaken his grip from the spear.
‘Is this the power of a Level Four Aswang?’ He asked himself as he was thinking of some other way to stop her opponent.
“Yule! Cover your eyes!”
Yule heard Ranger’s voice out of nowhere and followed his order. The woman in black turned her gaze to where the voice was coming from and found her target – suspended in the air and holding two swords on his hands while floating swords formed a circle behind him, making him like a saint in some old painting.
Ranger grinned at the woman and the swords behind him started to glow until it flashed a blinding light around the room.
The woman groaned from the blinding light and quickly covered her eyes as a protection from the flash. At the same time, Yule felt that the wind stopped swirling around him. The woman was too busy protecting herself that she halted her attacks on him. Grabbing this chance, he gripped his spear again. While his eyes remained close, he remembered where her position was and blindly charged forward to his opponent.
The woman felt an incoming presence which she immediately summoned back her wind again. Since she don’t know where the attack was coming from, so she conjured a giant ball of wind around her and released it.
The attack released a huge impact around her, sending Yule flying at the end of the room, while at the same time, the energy arrows that the woman didn’t aware were released by Sanna was knocked off also on its trajectory.
Ranger was also hit by the impact and was sent to the ground while his swords remained lying on the ground.
Now that she could see again, the woman in black looked at her surroundings again. She found a crumpled form of Yule at the far side corner, while the boy with flying swords was knocked out on the ground.
But someone was missing. The person who shot the energy arrows. She scanned the vicinity, but all she could find was the girl suspended in the air, and the boys lying on the ground.
“Come out! Come out, human! I know you’re out there somewhere. Let’s make it easy for the both of us and show yourself. So I could kill you.”
But the unseen human didn’t take any action after her invite which made her frustrated and lashing a strong wind around the room. Fortunately, it didn’t hit Ranger and Yule.
“Next time, I won’t miss, and it will definitely hit your friends. So come out now!”
“Disgusting creature!”
The voice was coming from above. The woman looked above her and found a gaping hole, big enough to fit a human on the upper side of the wall, near to the ceiling.
“Finally,” The woman said with satisfaction. “Do you need any help coming down?” She said sweetly then cackled with laughter.
Sanna cocked her bow at the aswang, stretching the string and generating an energy arrow at the same time.
But something happened.
Sanna noticed it first. She found that something glowing on Candace’s chest. Then the woman in black noticed it too, averting her gaze to the young girl, floating in the air.
The light glowed brightly and popped out of her chest. It swirled around the room and flew straight to Yule. The ball of light touched his body, and the wounds he had obtained from the fight earlier started to close until it fully healed. After healing Yule, the ball of light flew to the direction of Ranger, but the woman in black tried to halt its movements by capturing the ball. Unfortunately to her, the ball of light was much faster than her and dodged her. Sanna finally noticing that the ball was healing her comrades, so she quickly released an energy arrow at the woman, but she avoided it also.
Now, it was too late since the ball of light had healed Ranger.
Yule and Ranger started to groan, regaining their consciousness. Then the ball of light flew at the side of Candace’s body and slowly materializing the body of the feline goddess.
