Yule and Sanna joined the other students exiting the stadium. There were still a lot of students discussing and intrigued at the summoning of the feline goddess, Bastet.
Sanna invited Yule to grab some food in the lobby area when Sanna’s phone started ringing.
“It’s a text message from Professor Fields. He said that he will meet us at the Student’s Dormitory.”
The two grabbed their food first, before stepping out of the stadium.

When they stepped foot on the student’s dormitory, they were greeted by Professor Fields.
“I’m guessin’ that the summoning ceremony was exciting, I presume?”
“Well, someone just summoned Bastet. And the whole crowd went wild after her appearance,” Sanna replied to the professor.
The professor whistled at the mentioned of the feline goddess, then he beckoned them to sit on the couches to continue their story.
After recounting the story, Yule and Sanna was looking expectantly at the professor, waiting for his turn. He cleared his throat then turned his gaze to Yule.
“Here’s the thing, there’s good news, bad news, and good news again,” The professor started. “The first good news is you have a healthy body and your physiology is the same as us, despite you’re from a different world.” Then the professor’s voice changed to a more serious tone as he dropped his next announcement. “The result of your scan’s shard is unfruitful. Avatara was scratching her head after finding out that there’s no spirit energy emitting from your shard.”
Yule gave the professor a puzzled look after hearing the spirit energy which was acknowledged by the professor.
“The spirit energy, as mentioned, is the kind of energy usually emits by the mythical being in the shard. It can only be found through drone scanning which was done to you earlier.”
“So what’s inside my shard?” Yule asked.
“Surprisingly, what we only found out is that there’s just a spear inside in your shard. But the mechanics on how you can summon it is still a mystery with us. We don’t know what kind of magic concealed in your shard.”
Yule was disappointed that even the Engkanto with their advanced technology and in-depth knowledge in shards could not help uncover the mystery surrounding him.
Sanna noticed at the same time that Yule was feeling down. “So what’s the other good news?” she interjected.
As on cue, Professor Fields leaped from his seat and clapped his hands. Yule and Sanna turned their heads at him.
“The other good news is Yule,” Professor Fields grabbed something on his breast pocket and showed it to Yule. The mystery item was the same rectangular glass-like mobile device as Sanna’s.
“Starting tomorrow, you’re an official student of Neo Archipelago Slayers Academy!”
He pulled Yule from the couch and turned over the mobile device to him. “The reason also that I asked both of you to meet here is to escort him to his dorm.”
Sanna also stood and grabbed Yule’s hand, shaking it. “Welcome to the academy!”
“So am I going to start as a freshman here?” Yule inquired.
“Well, as mentioned, I’ve pulled some strings, and you will be in my class as a sophomore. You will be in the same class as Sanna and Ranger.”
Yule almost jumped on his feet that he will be with Sanna and Ranger. He was glad that won’t be stuck in a classroom full of strangers.
“So shall we go to your room now?” Professor Fields asked Yule.
*****
Professor Fields and Yule went to men’s dormitory wing after waving goodbye to Sanna. They set foot on the third floor and knocked on the door on the left side.
The doorknob turned, pulling the door open. They were greeted by a short boy with disheveled black hair while still wearing his PJs.
“Oh, Mister Dirq so nice that you’re still in your room! I would like to introduce to you our newest student in the academy, Yule Azul.” Then the professor faced Yule smiling at him. “And Yule, this is Haruto Dirq, your roommate.”
Yule smiled back at Haruto but started to feel uncomfortable when his new roommate just stared at him with a placid look.
“Oh great,” Haruto said in an expressionless tone.
Professor Fields started to move back. “I’ll leave the two of you now. Start to get to know each other and have an enjoyable year as roommates!” Then the professor zoomed away from the two students.
Yule and Haruto was left with an awkward atmosphere. Both were engaged in a staring contest, but Yule stepped back and started clearing his throat.
“May I go in?” Yule asked.
“Do whatever you want. It’s your room now also.” Haruto replied still in an expressionless tone.
Upon entering the room, there were two poster beds faced at opposite ends. The other one was still in order while the other one had a crumpled bed sheet, an indication that they interrupted Haruto while sleeping.
“Just a rule, you will not cross my territory and I will not cross yours. And I don’t like small conversations. We’re just roommates not friends. Any questions?”
“I-I think you covered everything already,” Yule replied. “By the way, thanks for the warm welcome,” he added sarcastically.
Haruto just rolled his eyes and returned to his bed.
Ignoring Haruto, Yule went to his bed and found that there were three sets of school uniforms neatly placed on the bed. He roamed his eyes and noticed there was a small drawer beside the bed. He started pulling the three-row drawer, just to check if there were any things left for him. Unfortunately, it was empty.
He returned to his bed again and rolled on his back, staring at the ceiling. Yule remembered the mobile device that the professor gave to him and quickly pulled it from his pocket.
He pressed the screen of the mobile device which emitted a glowing light. Various dialog boxes bombarded Yule. He pressed one dialog box with an email icon on it. The screen switched to his student email account.
Yule was surprised that there were already three new unread messages. The messages came from Professor Fields, Sanna, and Ranger.
He clicked on Professor Fields’ message. Yule read the content where Professor Fields was just welcoming him again to the academy. He also mentioned his class schedule where he clearly stated that class starts at exactly 7:30 am. Before ending his message, the professor told you that he also shared his email address to Sanna and Ranger, so expect a message from them.
After reading the professor’s message, he clicked on Sanna’s and Ranger’s messages. They were just checking on him and asking about his roommate. Yule replied to them and told them that Haruto greeted him with the warmest welcome and added LOL at the end.
