Apocalypse Online For All Worlds - Chapter 57
In Gu Qingshan’s previous life, there had been a famous conclusion about the difference in power between the real world and the other world.
Players hadn’t been as powerful as the cultivators of the cultivating world, and the cultivators had not been as powerful as demons.
The players had always been hindered by the ridiculous amount of XP they’d needed to achieve to hit the next level, and nobody had managed to get to the Sanctification stage.
The demons had been so many in number, so even though one demon alone had been no match for the Saints, if a group of demons at Sanctification stage were to have surrounded them, then even the Three Saints would have had to back off.
Gu Qingshan had watched the apocalypse happen for ten whole years. That was ten years of the eventual annihilation of mankind.
Gu Qingshan was a Great Sword Immortal and had killed millions of demons. But he knew how frightening the demons could be, and he knew how powerful the Saints really were.
Numbers aside, there was no demon that could win a battle against the Saints by itself.
But how could he get to meet the Three Saints?
How was he going to persuade them and make them believe what he was saying was true?
If he had the time to slowly plan this out, Gu Qingshan was certain that he could do this.
But he was hard-pressed for time. In half a day, Gongsun Zhi was going to die.
Gu Qingshan took a deep breath and tried to still his heart. He forced himself to calmly keep thinking.
Xuanyuan Heavenly Prime, Master Beiyang, and Floral Fairy.
The names of these three Saints resounded loudly throughout the world, and there were many legends that had been passed down all their life. So was there anything that was useful to him among everything he had heard about them?
Xuanyuan Heavenly Prime liked to roam the world, so it would be impossible to locate him in such a short time. Even if Gu Qingshan had a million ideas on how to convince him, there was no point if he couldn’t even find him.
So he eliminated Xuanyuan Heavenly Prime.
Master Beiyang lived in Spiritual Leaf Temple on Dabei Mountain. He normally spent his days meditating and did not see any guests.
Master Beiyang only opened up to talk and have discussions every year at the beginning of spring, and this was open to all.
It wasn’t impossible to see Master Beiyang at other times of the year, but Gu Qingshan was a nobody, so he couldn’t get such a chance.
One year, Master Beiyang had gone to Myriad Sword Sect to give a talk, so the head of the Myriad Sword Sect had used millions of Spirit Stones to build a shrine and placed a statue of Buddha carved from a special sort of jade. That had been the remuneration for Master Beiyang’s talk.
So he had to eliminate Master Beiyang, too.
He was only left with Floral Fairy.
Gu Qingshan gave a long sigh.
If he had sufficient time, he would rather roam the earth and search for Xuanyuan Heavenly Prime or accumulate enough reputation and Spirit Stones in the hope of being able to see Master Beiyang. Anything was better than trying to find a way to see Floral Fairy.
Floral Fairy was terrifyingly powerful and extremely hard to please.
When she had fallen, she had killed more than 30 demons at Sanctification stage, and the entire demon army had been pushed back several hundred kilometers just because of her.
Everyone said that her capability must have already reached Summit stage of Sanctification, and it would only take a little bit more before she could break through this stage and reach a stage that nobody had ever reached before.
If you were not careful in front of Floral Fairy, you would be in deep trouble.
Saints had a million and one ways to torture and kill others.
Xuanyuan Heavenly Prime had no interest in doing such things, while Master Beiyang hoped to understand and help others, not torture others.
Only Floral Fairy had a very difficult personality that was hard to grasp. She was always unpredictable, and it was impossible to see what would happen.
She had once used her Divine Skill to do something that dumbfounded everyone.
And this had only been discovered by others after she had fallen to the enemy.
Everyone, including the players, had been completely speechless by this action of hers.
Gu Qingshan sighed deeply.
Knowing this matter in advance was actually hope for him.
If he wanted to see Floral Fairy, he had to attract her attention first.
Gu Qingshan was silent for a while.
The only way was probably the Floral List.
Floral Fairy had built her very own nation and founded Floral Sect.
She didn’t like to wander the earth like Xuanyuan Heavenly Prime; neither did she lock herself in all day to meditate like Master Beiyang.
She stayed in the Floral Palace of her Floral Celestial Nation every day, fiddling with flowers and other plants. When she felt like it, she would put out some tasks on the Floral List.
If one wanted to see Floral Fairy, you had to pick something off the Floral List first and complete the difficult task attached to it.
There were all sorts of things on the Floral List. Floral Fairy personally thought up every single task on the Floral List, and they were all things she was interested in.
If anyone managed to complete one of the many difficult tasks on the Floral List, that person would be able to meet Floral Fairy, and she would grant him one request.
And if Floral Fairy liked this person, there was even a chance to join Floral Sect.
The keyword here was “chance”.
Even though it was called a sect, the number of disciples in Floral Sect could be counted on one hand.
The cultivation world had recognized this tiny group as a sect only because their leader was Floral Fairy.
As for the disciples in her own sect, Floral Fairy always treated them extremely well.
There were tons of people who wanted to join Floral Sect, but nobody had succeeded over the past decade or so.
Now and then, someone would manage to complete the difficult task on the Floral List. But after he was granted a wish, he would be sent away and not given the chance to become a disciple.
Nobody knew why, either.
But none of that mattered to Gu Qingshan now. He just needed Floral Fairy to agree to save Gongsun Zhi and Ning Yuechan.
That’s right. The only chance for him to see a Saint now was to pick something off the Floral List!
He had to make his move now.
Gu Qingshan made this decision and quickly said, “Leng Tianxing, I need you to do me a favor.”
“Just say it. My life is yours,” replied Leng Tianxing.
After having gone through such a grueling battle together, the aloofness of Leng Tianxing had faded quite a bit, and he now looked at Gu Qingshan with great respect.
Gu Qingshan was only a Qi Refining cultivator, but he had managed to survive a sea of demons. What sort of ability did this man have?!
Then, at the last moment, when they’d been on the verge of dying, Gu Qingshan could have just run ahead without him, but he had exchanged places with Leng Tianxing and took on the terrible task of covering the back.
If Leng Tianxing still didn’t deem Gu Qingshan a worthy friend, then Leng Tianxing had been a disciple of the Alkaid Faction for nothing.
Gu Qingshan said, “I want to pick something off the Floral List.”
Leng Tianxing immediately replied, “Sure. I’ll help you.”
Gu Qingshan replied curiously, “Aren’t you going to ask me why?”
“The general told us to hide and make sure we stay alive. I can take this chance to pick something off the Floral List myself because that’s the only way I can be saved,” replied Leng Tianxing.
“Why?” asked Gu Qingshan.
Leng Tianxing thought about it, then he stood up and started taking his clothes off.
Gu Qingshan got a shock and asked in a low voice, “What are you doing?”
Were the disciples of the Alkaid Faction all so open-minded? Was this fellow into men?
Gu Qingshan clenched his fists tightly.
Leng Tianxing explained, “Your skill in formations is pretty high, and you’re full of ideas, so I thought of asking you to help me see something.”
He had already removed everything from his upper body and exposed his chest.
Leng Tianxing pointed at his own chest and said, “If you can help me, I would be eternally grateful to you.”
There was a colorful, striped spider on his chest.
This spider’s eight, long legs were deeply buried within Leng Tianxing’s chest, and only the head was exposed outside.
When the spider saw light and saw the two of them, it started screeching uneasily.
Its eight legs clutched even more tightly than before.
Leng Tianxing had pain written all over his face. He quickly put his clothes back on so that the spider didn’t have to interact with the outside world.
He finally calmed down after a long while.
He looked at Gu Qingshan and said, “What do you think? Do you know what this thing is?”
Gu Qingshan had a strange look on his face. It seemed to carry memories, along with some anger, some disgust, and some sorrow.
