Apocalypse Respawn - Chapter 42 Chapter 42
I quickly look out from the balcony of the tallest building in Chinatown and the view from up here is damn amazing.
I could see the top of all the buildings around me.
After scouting the surroundings I went back downstairs.
They should be awake by now.
The moment when I came out of the staircase something hit me in the chest.
“Brother! Where did you go!!!”
“… I went to clean out the other floors.”
“Why didn’t you tell me! Do you know how worried I was! Brother…”
“Alright alright, my bad okay. I’ll tell you later when I’m going to go out.”
We have about 5 apartments full of supplies. What I need to do now is get the Manhattan Bridge Blocked off.
This bridge leads to Brooklyn which is the largest burrow in population.
If I don’t block it off then if a Zombie horde was to cross over then Manhattan would be overrun with Zombies,
I need to quickly secure Chinatown’s most possible danger first before anything else and that would be to block off Manhattan Bridge.
Now that the trucks have unloaded all the supplies into the building the trucks themselves are going to be a good wall.
I have 14 truck drivers follow me to park the Trucks so that they block off both sides of the bridge.
With 7 trucks parked on one side and the remaining 7 on the other, the blockade was complete.
When we arrived at the bridge it was what you could call a mess. Cars were lying around. Some on fire and most of them crashed into each other.
The bridge is blocked. We can’t enter the bridge with our trucks. The Size of the trucks wouldn’t fit to get through.
There are also hundreds of Zombies on the bridge. Some who were trapped inside of there cars.
Some who were outside the cars and roaming around.
This bridge is going to be a real pain in the ass to clean up.
There were about a hundred cars on this bridge.
I quickly had my men get out of the trucks and start killing all the Zombies on sight.
I also had my men start trying to drive the cars which worked to entrances of the Bridge. By doing so the bridge will become barricaded by the cars.
So the cars will act similar to a barricade against the Zombies. I made sure to leave no gaps between the cars so that zombies or humans wouldn’t be able to get through without us letting them in. But I left a gap in the middle of the cars which could barely fit a truck through. This will be to be a route that we could escape from.
I then had the drivers park the trucks behind the cars so that 3 trucks were blocking the left side 3 blocking the right side and plugged 1 truck in between the trucks and cars so that if we were to ever need to get out of there we could jump onto the middle truck and directly drive out.
The middle truck would both act as the gateway in and an emergency escape route if needed…
It took a total of 3 and a half hours to secure the bridge and make the Barricade but it is worth it. It’s now 1:48 P.M.
Nighttime is when the Zombies become more active so there are about 4 hours till the day turns to night. The beta period will end in about 10 hours.
I can start recruiting more survivors now that I have both the Bridge and Confucius Plaza under control.
More manpower is needed to cover and secure the Bridge.
I should also start cleaning out all the buildings in the surroundings and clearing them of Zombies for I plan to make Chinatown the Center of my base.
There should be about 4,000 survivors remaining in Chinatown.
Why 4,000 well it’s because of simple math. Only about 10 percent of humans should still be alive.
Chinatown has a Population of 47,844 people living in it and about 10% of that is 4,784 so I simply rounded it down to 4,000 and due to how dangerous the night of the first day was. There should be at least 1/5 of that remaining population that dies due to the Zombies and that is while being optimistic.
I need to secure these human resources now that I have the space to keep them.
I’ll also need to start building walls and fortifying the streets.
Survival bases in the days of the Apocalypse were generally just as large as a single building but there were also survival Towns. There weren’t many of those though.
But what I’m about to create isn’t a survival Town but an Empire.
To do that I’ll need resources manpower and magic equipment.
If I remember correctly there was dungeon which was within Chinatown. I’m not sure if it’s even there yet, for now, it is only the first day but I’ll check it out.
For Dungeon spawn lots of useful things. If I could grab the Dungeon core and plant it inside my base then I would be able to gain an endless source of resources.
I had my men form groups of 10 and gave them each a gun. They were to all set-out and start securing buildings nearby.
I had them first secure the shops with food for our supplies won’t last long if we were to start recruiting more people.
I better start making use of the time now and start planting crops. For food will become a huge problem soon.
After ordering my men to start securing the perimeter I left with my sister.
We headed towards the subway station. The reason for this is because one of the largest dungeons in Chinatown which spawned in my previous lifetimes was in the Subway station. The Dungeon took over the Subway of New York and because it was already cleared out the dungeon didn’t even need to expand itself. No one was able to take down the dungeon core of that dungeon because space is covered and the number of monsters it spawned.
