Apocalypse Respawn - Chapter 46 Chapter 46
I have about 5 days to find the location of the dungeon.
A start-up dungeon is usually about 100×100 ft. The core is generally somewhere within that space.
But after using mana the dungeon can expand and take over a certain space that is open and connected to the dungeon core room.
For today is the first day of the apocalypse it should still have its original start-up room.
While going through the subway I started having my sister get more involved in killing the Zombies and started increasing the amount she was to handle. Of course, it was while the Zombies were handicapped. If I was to train her with Zombies which weren’t it might have become a bit dangerous.
The number of Zombies which she killed soon past a hundred after about 2 hours of nonstop practice.
I didn’t give her much time to rest for I had her add all of her Points into vitality and agility.
By doing so she was able to become quicker and dodge the Zombies who were lunging at her easier. By adding to her vitality she always had some strength left in her to keep going.
But doing this doesn’t lessen her fatigue for adding onto her vitality only helped give her more energy. The fatigue can only lessen with rest which was something I didn’t give her time to do.
I did this for several reasons, and one of them was to get her mind off of killing another human being. By making her life so hard that she couldn’t think and could only fight to live her thoughts of morals and self-reflection should be the last thing on her mind. Another reason is that people can awaken ESP powers not only through the Blood rain but also if one is pushed to there limits.
After killing through the subway for 2 hours she was extremely exhausted and when adding to vitality didn’t even work anymore I helped finish off all the surrounding Zombies and got her to a safe place to rest.
She fell unconscious from the fatigue. If she had persisted a bit more then maybe she might have even awakened.
“Sigh* Let just take things one step at a time.”
I waited for my sister to awaken before we continued on the path of our search. Unfortunately, she didn’t awaken. But there are a lot more chances to do so, worst comes to worst I’ll let her soak inside the blood rain. Although that isn’t going to awaken a natural ESP power it will be better than nothing.
I continued down the seemly endless path of the NYC Subway looking for this dungeon.
But after a while of walking, I stopped.
I took out a map that I grabbed of the NYC tunnels and looked at the path before me, this tunnel isn’t on the map.
A smile creeps onto my face. I think I found my dungeon.
I step into the tunnel and an announcement sounded in my head.
[You have found a dungeon!]
[You have entered The Invisible Tunnels.]
[Congratulations on being the first to find a dungeon you earn 10,000 Evolution points!]
[Reward is unable to be received.]
[Reward canceled]
My eye twitches from seeing this stupid announcement of a canceled reward.
I then look towards my sister who still seems tired.
“Did you get the reward?”
“Hmpf!”
I think she is ignoring me now…
The Invisible Tunnels, the largest dungeon in NYC. It was well known for its labyrinth and a huge amount of traps. The Dungeon had expanded from Manhattan to almost all the states along the coast at its peak. It was one of the largest dungeons that were never fully explored and conquered.
This dungeon has only just gotten to earth yet it has already increased its size. This tunnel most likely leads towards the dungeon core room.
I continue down the tunnel with my sister behind me. Soon a group of 5 Tier 2 Mutant rats.
These rats were large about the same size as a hound.
My sister screamed at the top of her lungs and started shooting at the rats. This enraged the rats and they came charging at us.
I mean I wouldn’t blame her. Have you ever seen a rat as big as a dog before? They’re huge and disgusting.
Most people fear rats because it is a socially induced conditioned response combined with the startling response. Rats are generally associated with the food being contaminated and when you see such a large ass rat I believe most would jump from fear.
These Rats are similar to the typical rat in the way that they are both extremely fast and resistant to attacks. If you have ever caught a rat before you will know that it is almost impossible to capture one by running after it, the chance of capturing one through a trap is most likely the more possible outcome.
Rats are extremely agile creatures and that is even more so when they have evolved to tier 2. So guns are not exactly the most useful way to defeat them.
Most of the gunshots which my sister fired at them didn’t hit. Only one of the rats got hit but that did barely any damage to the rodent. That shot is what you would call lucky. She was only able to hit the thing because it was hit by surprise and not because of her good aim. Guns become almost useless after the creatures become Tier 2.
Tier 2 creatures have a tough hide and fast speed so the chance of killing one is highly reduced except if you have an extremely accurate aim or have a heavy firepower gun like a machine gun. But even then it is highly inefficient to take down a Tier 2 creature with a gun due to the number of bullets it will require.
That also means that guns will become not as useful after the first year of the Apocalypse.
For a lot of Beasts and Zombies will evolve to at the very least Tier 2 by the end of the Year.
