Aria’s Tales - Chapter 18 2.3 Unfallen The Fallen
Adounis did not understand the ache in his heart, but he followed his instinct and pulled the girl in his arms while wiping away her tears. The expression he had on his face was as if he was holding someone he treasured.
This beautiful scene was too surreal that the people watching had their mouths wide open. The people back home would surely explode when they find out about this!
Adounis couldn’t care less what they had in mind as he was preoccupied with comforting the girl who hadn’t stopped crying for a long time. His free hand was patting her soft hair when he brushed his hand to the metal collar on her neck. His eyes narrowed dangerously. He knew that this was a slavery collar and that the girl was a slave to a guy named Brand.
He hadn’t even considered it seriously when he already decided to place the guy on his blacklist.
Sevianna was only able to stabilize her emotions when her throat had gone dry. Her eyes had gone puffy and her nose and cheeks were red. When she noticed that she was still in the stranger’s arms, she pushed him away. But he was too strong so she ended up pushing herself away instead.
She almost fell back because she hadn’t found her balance yet. Thankfully, Adounis caught her on time and helped her find her balance.
Sevianna eyed this stranger suspiciously before placing her right hand to her left chest and bowing slightly. “Thank you.” It was the highest sign of respect. Then, she turned around.
She was about to leave when her arm was caught again. Her brows knitted in annoyance. However, inside she was screaming with reluctance.
Sevianna: Ahhh I don’t want to leave him!!! What if he hooks up with other girls?? I don’t even know him!! Ah that’s right! His name is Adounis! But that’s not enough ~ !!! *cries*
Lily: Master … patience … *cries*
Sevianna glared at the man’s red eyes. She had shown such a shameful sight, yet this man wouldn’t let her go. What else did he want?
Adounis was not offended in the least with her glare. Rather, he liked it. He liked those lively eyes staring at him even though there were daggers coming out of it. He knew the girl must have been embarrassed by her actions, so he no longer teased her.
He bit his thumb, enough for blood to seep through, and reached for the collar on her neck. Under the wide eyes of his four acquaintances and the girl herself, he let his blood rewrote the slavery contract’s ownership.
A magic circle appeared under their feet and it glowed in white and red lights, then it gradually died down. Sevianna’s mouth hung open as she tried to process what had just happened. Wasn’t that a change of ownership?!
She had also thought of this option before. But her slavery collar was as rare as being the only one in the world because it was made by Brand. It would only work if the person who was to become her new master had a closer relationship with her than him. Since Sevianna’s closest person had only been him, he was so confident to the point that he let Sevianna go anywhere she wanted. The collar was able to pinpoint her location so she had nowhere to run.
But now, it had been changed so simply.
Sevianna felt like crying again. This has to be her Yan ge right? Or else, why was he able to change the ownership when they were practically strangers? Then, was the red thread supposed to be his soul?
Sevianna was even more determined to stay in this world. Her Yan gege was here, where else should she be? Her Yan ge even literally claimed ownership of her.
There was only one problem. Sevianna was not ready for another love story. Brand was her first love, and she had devoted even her life for someone who would let just anyone enter his pants if they met his standards. When Sevianna was about to turn her back against everyone, she had planned to commit suicide.
She laughed bitterly inside. It seemed she’ll have to make her Yan gege work harder to capture her. It would take a lot of small sacrifices to make Sevianna fall in love again.
I’m sorry Yan ge ~ Please work hard, okay ~?
Sevianna touched the dreaded collar consciously. She had a lot of things she wanted to say but found that no words could form on her mouth, so she bit her lip looking aggrieved and glared at her perpetrator.
Adounis didn’t seem to notice the murderous look the girl was wearing and took her hands, intending to take her somewhere. But Sevianna flung his hands and ran away.
He watched the fleeing figure and felt loss at the fading warmth in his palms. I scared her. There was guilt across his face and a little bit of helplessness. What to do? He then turned to the people he had been with who were wearing incredulous faces. “How do you court again?”
The four were speechless. You’re asking us?! Their little hearts had been subjected to big surprises one after the other that they were mentally exhausted. They didn’t answer his question but looked at him as if he had done a grave act instead.
Adounis was confused. What did he do?
Sevianna ran while her eyes were glowing red. The force and pain in the neck that she was expecting never came. She stopped right before she entered the forest and looked with a complicated gaze at the silhouette of her new master. He didn’t force her to come back?
She didn’t believe it. So she ran deep into the forest while going on a killing spree to vent her frustrations and waited for her collar to be activated. The monsters that were victimized by her onslaught were mostly from the middle class. But the higher class monsters had been scared silly by her strong stench of bloodlust and didn’t dare go near. This caused her to walk mindlessly until she got bored.
There was a waterfall in the depths of the forest and it connected with a big lake. Sevianna caught the sight of a beautiful rainbow when she arrived there. The place was peaceful and free from worldly matters. It instantly became her favourite place.
Sevianna tested the waters. It was a bit cold but not cold enough to make her shiver, so she decided to take a bath. She stripped off of her dress – ’till butt-naked – and carefully entered the water. She seemed to have finally found a bit of peace as her face eased and her aura was more tender.
Adounis was not prepared for this.
He had chased after her but she went berserk, so he followed at a distance waiting for a chance to apologize. The four guys earlier had demanded this from him. He should not be forcing her to be his. He should be more gentle to her. He should release her –
To that last remark, he stubbornly refused.
Adounis hid behind a huge tree trying to calm his ragged breath. He did not see anything. He seriously did not see anything!
Her skin is so pale…
He swiftly slapped his forehead sweeping away his indecent thoughts. His ears had long turned to the colour of blood while some sweat slid down his temple. He realized that he was still a man after all.
“Like what you saw?”
A low feminine growl called out from behind him.
Adounis’ back stiffened. She found him?! His heart beat rapidly as he panicked. If the four guys earlier had seen his face they would have been given another shock. Fortunately, they weren’t here for now as their impression of their prince might have shattered. Although, this would still be inevitable in the future.
He slowly turned around, while his face was filled with guilt. But he quickly turned back and stopped the red fluid that dripped from his nose.
Sevianna was still butt-naked, standing under the bright rays of the sun. Her only cover was her dual-coloured hair that was enough to hide what needs to be hidden. She had long forgotten the barriers of a man and a woman.
Sevianna: Ahhh why did he turned around?! He’s so cute! I want to see his reaction!!
Lily: *lights a candle for Adounis*
Sevianna knitted her brows when she saw he wasn’t planning on turning around. “What are you doing here?” Her voice dropped a few more degrees. She saw his shoulders jerked and she wondered what her master was thinking.
Adounis was caught in a fit of coughs before finally getting back a bit of his lost courage. “Well I- I’m here to take you home.” A slight blush formed on his cheeks but it quickly passed as he successfully reigned in his embarrassment. With a poker face, save for the fact that he was biting his lips, he turned around with renewed determination.
To his disappointment, Sevianna had already changed into a new dress.
Sevianna: Too late~ Maybe next time *kisses*
Lily: Sevi can’t you have mercy on him?
Sevianna: Nope~
Sevianna looked startled at his words. But then, her face changed into a mixture of sadness and pain. “Home?” What’s that? She didn’t have such a thing.
Adounis didn’t like to see her like this. It was fine if she was angry. It was fine if she wore the same crazed look she always had when fighting. But to see her like this makes him mirror her pain.
“Mn, home. Come home with me?” His voice shook a bit due to nervousness.
Sevianna eyed her new master as if he was a rare animal. She had not been clear-headed earlier so she had not had a clear look. But this man, was definitely a devil right? She couldn’t even trust her own brethren but he expects her to trust him?
Her eyes narrowed in thought. Why not? She’s already been betrayed once. And she no longer cared for her life. She doesn’t believe his kindness could last even a week. Maybe he’ll help her by killing her.
She hesitated for a moment, then took a step forward. Her physical guard was no longer raised. She looked like she was about to take on a suicidal mission. Adounis wanted to tell her there was no need to be afraid. But he knew that would be useless. The girl’s barriers around her heart didn’t seem to have any weakness.
His fingers twitched, then he gently took her hand. The pearl looking hands fit perfectly on his. With a reassuring smile, he led her towards his own carriage.
He did not notice that Sevianna was staring at his hand. She wondered if she had made the right decision. The warmth from his palms were spreading to her heart. It scared her. She wanted to pull her hands back and run away, again.
But, they had already reached five, black and gold, beautifully decorated carriages that were lined up neatly in a row. Four heads emerged from each carriages’ window and they stared fixedly at Adounis’ and Sevianna’s entwined hands.
One of them, with a blue spiky hair, grinned from ear to ear. “Little lady, what’s your name?” His eyes were full of curiosity.
Sevianna dully glanced at him and didn’t say anything.
The blue-haired guy felt depressed at being ignored and turned his head left for help. That person had a similar blue hair but darker. “Bro! She actually ignored me! You try~” His brother’s mouth twitched in annoyance.
He didn’t turn to the girl but looked at Adounis instead. “What’s her name?”
Adounis paused. He forgot to ask. Cold sweat formed on his back as he internally scolded himself for forgetting such an important task. He robotically turned to Sevianna with a sorrowful face.
“What’s your name?”
His question made the four people speechless.
Sevianna’s eyes flashed with laughter.
“Call me Sevi.” Then she turned to the four people in the carriage. “Sevianna.”
