Aria’s Tales - Chapter 36 2.21 Unfallen The Fallen
About three weeks past and the awaited wedding finally came.
In the Stella Kingdom, there were flying teddy bears wearing wedding suits and wedding gowns. The roads had been changed into red tiles that looked like red carpets, and they ran along the gates towards the main castle. The street vendors were actually selling crystallized products – from an artificial flower to all sorts of candies! And the taste was genuinely delicious.
It was a special occasion, and the rarest, if not the only one.
After much debate between where to hold this special wedding, both families finally decided to place this burden on a neutral third party. And the place that “luckily” got this responsibility was the human kingdom, the Stella Kingdom, who had no idea how they got involved in their wedding reception options.
Still, Stella could take advantage of such a grand celebration to promote the products in their kingdom, so they relented. And their care for this wedding was as if their own King was ascending.
While the streets were bustling with humans, angels, and devils. The largest banquet hall in the castle was meticulously being prepared. There was also a large room right beside the hall where numerous female voices seep through the door.
“Princess Sevianna please raise your hand.”
“Princess Sevianna would like the colour red for your earings?”
“No no no, that’s such a bold colour! Would like pink instead, princess?”
Such conversations echoed in the spacious room. Sevianna was standing on a circular platform while three girls gathered around here. There were another two girls who stood near two chests – one with a dress and the other was filled to the brim with accessories.
Their eager faces made it seem like they were the one getting married. Sevianna helplessly waved her hand. “Whatever you girls like.” She said gently but with a cold face.
The girls suddenly blushed. They looked at each other with sparkling eyes and as if they had communicated telepathically, they looked at Sevianna with undisguised admiration.
Uh, what did she do?
She had done nothing to receive their strong gazes of respect! She merely said four words, so what exactly did she do??
Lily: … *sitting in an exquisitely carved chair*
Ah, she actually forgot. Since Sevianna was constantly with Adounis in this life and Shen Yan in the previous life, she had long forgotten a dreadfully annoying fact. She had a private saying that if the girls in any of the worlds didn’t harbour any hostility to her master, they would unconditionally see her master as someone highly esteem.
And if Sevianna were to tease them ever so slightly, they’d fell.
Lily: *sigh* Master, please don’t talk to the girls if you don’t want to take their jobs away.
Lily called out to her master in telepathy.
Sevianna: Ah? *stunned* Why would I be a reason for their lost job??
Lily: Master~ Are you sure Adounis won’t flip out if he finds out that you’re flirting with girls?
Sevianna: What! Am I flirting with girls?!
Lily: Yes. It’s a passive ability that I can do nothing about.
Sevianna: I’m not! I’d at least be holding them around their waist for it to count as flirting!
Lily: *facepalms* Please just listen to me~ *cries*
“Princess?”
A girl’s cute face popped up in Sevianna’s vision. She suddenly had the urge to pinch the girl’s cheeks, but that would be OOC, so she moved back a strand of the girl’s hair away from the girl’s face instead.
Successive squeals immediately pervaded the room, making Sevianna startled. The girl, whose hair got touched, was frozen in place with her eyes wide open.
Lily was dismayed. Okay, she didn’t say a single word. But what was that?! Was that not flirting??
The girls’ squeals seemed to have startled the visitors as well. “What is happening? What’s with the noise?”
Selyph entered while wearing a simple elegant blue dress with golden inlays. Sheila followed right after and wore a darker pink dress with her red royal cape. The women both exuded their natural regal auras.
Sevianna blinked her ignorant eyes as if telling them that she had no idea. Then she saw her mother swept her gaze to the blushing girls, and then back to her. She found that her mother’s eyes were filled with understanding and helplessness.
Sheila chuckled. “You charms fascinated them.”
Sevianna was stumped. What charm? That was nothing! If she had stroked their head and told them sweet nothings then she would have understood, but she merely fixed the girl’s hair!
Selyph shook her head lightly while wearing a wry smile. “Okay, that’s enough. Come on, let’s get you dressed.”
And so they dressed a blankly-looking Sevianna, who was still ignorant of what she had done.
The wedding was scheduled to begin right at noon when the sun was high up in the sky, for a more beautiful effect. After all, Adounis had used the same theme at his proposal for their wedding, and he specifically ordered the decorations to be crystallized.
In the sparkling banquet hall, small colourful lights floated and twinkled all over the air. As the people waited for the bride, they continued to stare in awe at the downright display of luxury. Their mouths twitched. This was exactly the outcome if you put two powerful royal families in a wedding ah!
They somehow felt that every treasure being displayed stabbed right through their heart, and into their meagre treasury.
If they didn’t pay attention to them, they won’t be ashamed, right? So they ignored the beautiful artifacts and focused instead on the large double doors of the banquet hall.
To their utter relief, it finally opened, revealing a beautiful Sevianna wearing a white gown decorated in real crystals. It had the same theme as her wedding gown from last life, but it was definitely grander.
Even though Sevianna preferred the simple elegant version, she couldn’t win against her family’s enthusiasm in the designing of the gown. It was already a great feat for her to achieve in convincing them to stop at the few thousands mark. Since the crystals were small, they were enthusiastically adding one after the other.
Sevianna reached Adounis’ spot and offered her hand to his, while a crystallized bouquet was on her other hand. They faced each other, and she saw his loving eyes staring at her. She couldn’t help but avoid such a passionate gaze, so she ended up turning the back of her head to the audience while pouting.
Adounis’ sweet smile became clearer, and the people who noticed their little sprinkle of affection was speechless. Can you not show us, these single dogs, this beautiful picture?
The wedding began with this display of dog food, but Lily was not there.
A few feet above Stella’s huge walls, a teddy bear, wearing a pink dress and purple blazer, was floating. This amusing sight made the human guards’ in the border smile – their fatigue was washed away.
Lily was staring at the horizon while she waited.
A rather interesting news had arrived a few days ago by an angel messenger. He seemed to have flown all the way to the Stella Kingdom in a hurry as a grave expression was etched on his face. At that time, Sevianna was with Anhel, and so she naturally heard the news.
“My King, the people of Thibbs are coming here to boycott the wedding.”
Anhel and Sevianna were both exasperated. In a moment of anger, Anhel immediately brought down the order to capture everyone as soon as they arrived at the walls of Stella Kingdom.
Which was why Lily was now waiting for them to show up. She was not here to help with the capturing – though she’d love to – but she was here to faithfully record the event for her master who couldn’t watch the fun. It was also for the sake of appeasing the original soul.
Lily waited patiently but became bored. She was still floating in the air but had decided to act as if she was laying in bed. The human guards laughed.
After a few minutes, a speck of shadow finally emerged from the sky. Lily immediately sat up and was a bit depressed that she had no popcorn to eat, before giving her all to watch the show.
The one leading the group of angels was none other than Velman, himself. They were donned in armours and grave faces as they were tired from the flight. Their strengths, however, were fuelled by anger. Truth be told, they had gone to Antitheus to “wreck” the wedding but found that the wedding was actually happening in Stella. With red faces, they rapidly flew over.
The group reached the borders and their resolve was even more ignited. But, before they could ask the guards to let them in, angels that were splendidly armoured with better defences shot up to their level and blocked their entrance.
Velman frowned. “Brothers, is anything the matter?” He had a bad feeling.
An angel, wearing a dark red cape, flew a step forward. “Brother, this is His Majesty’s order.” He raised his hand and signalled the others.
Velman’s group were instantly surrounded and his frown deepened.
“This is insane! Has King become muddled headed??!” Someone from Velman’s group shouted in fright, and his words made Velman ghastly pale.
That idiot!
Now, there was nothing more he could do even if he tried to. What was the consequence of badmouthing the monarch? Even death was not enough! The seven generations of the family might even be implicated!
Sure enough, the elite angels surrounding them became even more hostile and directly started to capture them one by one. And although some tried to resist violently, they couldn’t even lift a finger against the elite warriors.
Velman found that not one of them who tried to escape was successful. He closed his eyes in despair and offered his wrist in surrender. A white glowing rope tied his hands tight – it was one of the higher tier binding spell.
Lily was observing from afar and became speechless. That’s it?
She’d been so excited and eager to see at least a worthy fight, but that’s it? Give me back my feelings!! She was so angry that she stomped in the air and flew back to the castle with a humph. She honestly could not comprehend why they even tried when they didn’t even have the capability! She seriously wasted her time!
By the time Lily came back, Sevianna and Adounis had already given their vows. And to Sevianna’s pleasant surprise, Adounis had said the same words wearing the same expression as her Yan gege.
“Even death can’t keep us apart.”
He said in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear. His eyes were fixed unto Sevianna’s slender hand as he gently placed the ring on her finger. He rubbed it lightly right after with a look as if he was indulging on the moment.
Sevianna could not help but be teary. But she strongly suppressed the urge to cry and kept her sentimental feelings bottled up instead. Better suffer than going out of character. She solemnly said.
She did the same and placed a ring unto his finger.
Suddenly, the rings emitted a faint glow with glitters of glue. It surrounded them, before softly bursting – lighting up the entire banquet hall.
Sevianna’s eyes widened in surprise. She could feel it. She could a feel a connection between hers and Adounis’ soul. “T- These rings-” she tried to ask with trembling lips.
Adounis’ eyes turned into a crescent and his mouth curved along. He raised his hand towards her neck and touched the invisible slavery necklace. He had made it so before Sevianna got dressed so that she could wear a different accessory.
Under Sevianna’s bewildered eyes, Adounis broke the slavery necklace, and it vanished into sparkling pieces.
“You don’t need this anymore.” He dipped to kiss her forehead. Then he caressed her rosy cheek. All the while his eyes were brimming with affection.
Sevianna’s already formed tears fell. This was not OOC! It’s definitely not OOC wuwuwu~
