Aria’s Tales - Chapter 39 2.24 Unfallen The Fallen
Sevianna almost rolled her eyes. They’ve been running about for three months and he is still yet to be satisfied? She didn’t acknowledge him and merely continued observing the castle.
Adounis had been initially satisfied. But when he saw the castle nearing at a distance, he suddenly wanted to turn back and go on another trip. He really didn’t want to go back and work. After indulging himself with his wife, how could he go back to a “mundane” life?
He glumly nudged his head on Sevianna’s neck.
“Stop that!” Sevianna tried to push his head away with a red face. Her heart was not ready to be harassed out in the public, especially when her maids also bowed down their heads with similarly red faces.
Adounis heard her but merely let her words pass from the left ear then out to the other.
He stayed glued to her neck as they arrived back to the castle, where everyone was waiting with helpless expressions. They’re finally back!
From that moment on, the guards around the marriage couple increased. The poor families were not ready to experience another three months of waiting in the dark. It’s not good for the heart to leave them with no news at all, understand? They could only keep such thoughts in their mind as they couldn’t bear to scold them when they saw their rosy complexions. Ay, it was difficult enough to be showered constantly by dog food, but did they have to suffer from worry as well?
This three months of honeymoon better get them another little heir! Even better if it was a little princess!
Adounis reluctant took over as a King again while Sevianna went back to being a freeloader – as she had always been. And not a week had past when she felt her strength getting absorbed again by a force in her belly. The familiar feeling stunned her.
In the middle of the garden, she was sitting surrounded by her animal friends. She smiled brightly as she caressed her belly. Then, she suddenly had an idea. She gathered her little friends into a huddle, and with a playful look, she told them to send the working Adounis this wonderful news.
The animals nodded solemnly. Then, rushed towards Antitheus in full speed.
The sight of cats, dogs, birds, deers, and even a bear made the devils in Antitheus stand rooted on their spot. There was an influx of them – enough to cover the wide streets of Antitheus and block the carriages that were on their way. It was truly an interesting and shocking scene.
Sitting on the throne of the main castle, Adounis was listening to his ministers with a cold face. The ministers were talking about all sorts of problems about the kingdom and only some were positive news. Adounis really wished he could just go home and cuddle with his wife rather than dealing with the ministers’ various schemes.
It was when he was at the peak of his anger that the castle doors were suddenly banged open, and in came a variety of animals, barging in towards Adounis’ throne. They all skidded to a stop just a few meters away from him.
The ministers stared in shock. What was happening?
Adounis blink his eyes in bewilderment and his growing rage dissipated. It was only a given that he knew about each and every one of Sevianna’s little friends.
Under the flabbergasted looks of the ministers, the little animals bowed in front of Adounis. Then, a white deer came forward. With Sevianna’s “blessing,” he was the only one given the ability to speak.
“Husband of our friend, our friend is pregnant.”
He was still not good at his articulation, but he was still able to deliver the message. He felt proud at his achievement, before bowing back respectfully.
Adounis widened his eyes in surprise. He didn’t care what kind of looks the ministers were having as he left the Antitheus Kingdom with the animals in tow.
Later on, rumours about the King of Antitheus being “friends” with animals circulated worldwide. The oppressive image he projected to the people softened a little, and the angels who had been hesitant to marry their devil lovers because of their scary King, were finally placated. With such a cute king, there was no need to fear him!
Sevianna laughed heartily when the rumours travelled to her ears. She had only wanted to send him a surprise together with the news that she was pregnant. It had not been her original plan to soften his image. But since it further pushed the notion of mixed marriages, she thought that her little prank was very beneficial.
For another year, Sevianna was thoroughly spoiled once again by Adounis. It got to the point that he started to feed her during their meals. Even when she complained that she wasn’t disabled, he stubbornly insisted.
This time, she was bearing a princess. When her maiden family received such an important news, they were absolutely overjoyed. This is great! They have been initially worried that Sevianna would be affected by their stubborn male genes and only have male children. Now that a princess was about to be born, they have to prepare their gifts carefully!
The busy Wayward was also delighted. He had received the news while he was in the middle of a quest, but he decisively left. Leaving only these words to the hydra he was about to kill. “I’m becoming a brother! I won’t kill you anymore! Woo~!” Then he flew back to his home, drenched in the hydra’s blood.
The hydra cried in happiness. The little sister had saved her life from the hands of a terribly powerful ten-years-old child. Must worship!
Wayward didn’t stop until he reached his home. The sight of him covered in the hydra’s blood had made the servant’s hearts heavy. They were all people who had seen Adounis when he was young, and at this moment, they were shaken. The little master was stronger than his father! He will definitely be a great king!
It was inevitable for spies to be mixed in among the servants. However, after these spies reported to their masters the image of Wayward drenched in blood, the masters did not delay to ally themselves to Antitheus.
Even if there was no proof of Wayward successfully killing the hydra, the fact that he was just ten and was already fighting against them was enough to make these masters make a resolute decision.
Adounis met the bloodied Wayward on his way to the garden, and he immediately stopped the happily skipping boy, scolding him for his terrible sense of hygiene.
“Your mother is pregnant right now. Do you want her to see such a gruesome sight? Come here.”
Wayward’s eyes brightened in understanding. He solemnly said, “I’m sorry dad. I’ll wash up right away.”
Adounis nodded seeing his obedient look and helped him took a bath. He only gave his “ok” sign when he saw that the boy was sparkling clean. Wayward trotted his way to his mother.
Sevianna was in her favourite spot while leaning on the back of a giant bear. She was making another group of beautiful flower crowns that were shaped differently than the other. She had mastered it after making so many for many years.
“Mommy~!” Wayward skipped his way to his mother’s side and landed his face on the bear’s back. The bear turned around to glance, then went back to his job – that is making flower crowns.
“Your target is wrong. Is the bear your mother now?” Sevianna asked exasperated, while she also pouted.
“Ah! I was about to hug mommy but mommy is pregnant~ And I couldn’t change my momentum so I changed direction ~ ?” Wayward quickly sat down and leaned on his mother’s arms as he explained.
Sevianna seemed pleased at his explanation. “The bear is still not your mommy.” She said. Her voice sounding a bit cold.
“Of course! Mommy is here~” He hugged Sevianna’s arm and swung it lightly. He was, not at all, affected by his mother’s cold tone.
Sevianna smiled. She took one of the exquisite flower crowns she made and placed it on top of Wayward’s head. The cute image he portrayed made her laugh.
The scene of Sevianna laughing while teasing Wayward was what Adounis saw as soon as he arrived. His heart melted and couldn’t come back to its defences. He walked over to join the mother and son, and he personally took off his official crown to replace it with Sevianna’s flower crown.
“You’ve made so many of these. What are you planning to do with them?” He said as he placed his arms around her waist.
Sevianna glared at him and pinched his hand, but it didn’t even crack his smiling face. “Nothing. The animals sometimes take them.” She grumpily turned back to her job and used the flowers that some bunnies brought to her lap.
Seeing her focusing so much on making flowers instead of talking to them, the father and son glanced at each other, saw the other’s wry smile, and picked up the flowers as well. For these two battle-hardened men, who only knew how to wield weapons, the result of their flower crowns was in one word … devastating.
Sevianna instantly took on the teacher role and meticulously taught them making flower crowns. She strictly pointed out what they did wrong and even told them a few tricks. Although it looked ridiculous, Adounis and Wayward were listening attentively, making the servants watching them speechless.
By the time it was dinner, the father and son had successfully made a simple flower crown. It wasn’t the best, nor was it on par with their teacher, but it was still pretty. Sevianna’s stoic face finally eased.
Adounis and Wayward secretly high-fived.
Wayward didn’t leave for another mission despite the adventurer’s guild’s plea. He knew that his mother would be in a weakened state because of his sister. He wasn’t going to risk the chance for them to get hurt.
In the end, Sevianna was also spoiled by her son.
She was at a loss for words.
Adounis could now at least work for three hours in the main castle. While Wayward accompanied his mother in the morning, Adounis took over in the afternoon and evening. Sevianna felt that this level of spoiling had already made her bones a mush.
Thankfully, at exactly a year, Sevianna gave birth to the little princess, who had Adounis’ pitch-black hair and eyes that were bluish-silver.
As the youngest princess in the family, she captured everyone’s attention. Not only because she was beautiful like her mother, but because she had a high affinity in light magic – higher than Anhel’s who was said to be the highest in the century.
The little princess was called Minea by her mother. Because of her high light magic, she unconsciously made flowers bloom on the paths she took. This made someone so motivated in her flower crown production that Adounis had already filled five large rooms by the time Minea was ten. And this did not include the flower crowns that were gifted to some royals, and the flower crowns that the animals took.
Sevianna didn’t really care. It was a peaceful yet elegant activity that she couldn’t help but make it a habit. Besides, as a freeloader, it was the only activity she found interesting to do.
Under Sevianna’s diligent parenting, Minea grew up to be a kind-hearted and honest child despite being spoiled even more than her brother. At ten, she also enlisted as an adventurer and disguised herself as a healer. While her brother became a well-known battle maniac, Minea became famous with her potent healing.
Such a powerful sibling combination, it was no wonder that Antitheu and Angelus did not have any major wars during their era. Because if someone was foolish enough to fight them head-on, it would just truly be suicidal.
