Aria’s Tales - Chapter 46 3.6 Miss Troublemaker
The slap had shattered each and every stubborn fences in Qin Huang’s imaginary heart. She was so broken that she could only stare in shock at the man she had truly loved. Because she had not slept for days now, and even played vigorously last night, her body was also almost at its breaking point.
She staggered back, bumping on the table, and almost fell down had she not stabilized herself by holding on to its edges. Her head was swimming with images of her time with Cai De, and the scene that forced her to accept the horrible truth.
Cai De showed no guilt on his face. Even if he did felt something, he wasn’t going to show it. He steeled his resolve and managed to show a disgusted expression. “Feng Huang, this is Xia Xinyi. My fiance.”
Despite Qin Huang’s unconditional trust in Cai De, she still had not clarified her real name. This was one of the reasons that Cai De couldn’t find anything on Qin Huang’s background. Because Qin Huang wanted to attend a normal school, she had to use her alibi nickname, which was Feng Huang.
The people at the restaurant couldn’t help but imagine a dog blood drama in their heads. When they looked at Qin Huang, then to Xia Xinyi, they found that the other was beautifully alluring while the other was innocent-looking. The imaginations of these customers turned into that of the seductress versus the heir. They then, expected Qin Huang to lash out.
But their expectations were futile as Qin Huang did neither – or more specifically, she did nothing. She simply stared, aghast, while her shoulders were trembling. The image, of the alluring Qin Huang crying pitifully, was too strong that some men had already begun to stand up. They were about to save the damsel in distress.
Qin Huang’s eyes gradually dulled until it completely became lifeless. She did not seem to notice the ruckus that suddenly occurred at the entrance of the restaurant.
Two handsome men had entered the restaurant while wearing terrifyingly cold expressions. Behind them was an entourage of black-suited men with permanently set stoic faces. Their combined presence had completely engulfed the restaurant and captured some maiden hearts. But they didn’t notice the chaos they had brought, rather they were carefully scanning the room.
It was Qin Zedong and Teng Zexi.
These two people, out of the five who madly went searching, were the ones who were the most worried about Qin Huang. While the one was her closest brother, the other had subconsciously carried over his habits from the previous worlds. Teng Zexi had felt restless in his heart when Qin Huang suddenly vanished. So when Qin Cheng had asked for assistance, he immediately volunteered.
The first one to spot Qin Huang was Teng Zexi. When he saw her sickly pale face and drenched cheeks, while barely standing up by pushing herself up the table, his sanity almost broke. Teng Zexi moved over to Qin Huang’s side with large strides, and he carefully brought her to his embrace.
Qin Zedong saw this and was instantly riled up. But when he saw the man’s genuine anxious face, his rage was forcefully stopped.
He had seen such an expression on all his brothers before, including himself. Although he didn’t want to admit it, he reluctantly had to say that Teng Zexi had the same overprotectiveness towards their sister. And though he didn’t know why he decided to give the man a chance.
Moreover … his eyes narrowed dangerously as he glanced to the bewildered new couple.
Xia Xinyi was peaking at Qin Zhedong’s handsome appearance, while Cai De was trying to gauge out the relationship between Qin Huang and Teng Zexi. Although both of them had a different focus, both were still equally shocked.
As the daughter of the Xia family, Xia Xinyi obviously knew who the two gentlemen were. However, she had long crossed Teng Zexi’s face as she saw his care to Qin Huang, so her attention was fully focused on Qin Zedong.
She seemed to have forgotten the fiance that she was holding.
“Master Qin? Did not know that Master Qin would visit a place like this.” Xia Xinyi smiled ever so sweetly.
But Qin Zedong merely glanced at her before turning to his sister. “Huang mei~ let’s go home okay?”
He, too, could not take Qin Huang’s appearance calmly. He was enraged. It had only been three hours since she vanished. Three hours! And she was already like this. He glared menacingly at the two people wearing doubtful faces.
“What did you do to my sister?”
His words startled both of their hearts, and their backs started to be drenched in sweat. “M- Master Qin … y- your s- sister?” Xia Xinyi asked in disbelief. She could hear the words echoing in her head, but for some reason, it just couldn’t be processed.
“Yes. My only sister.” Qin Zedong said through gritted teeth as he sneered right after.
His firm confirmation made the both of them stunned. Cai De, in particular, was terribly shocked that the mask he had meticulously worn, cracked. Qin Huang peaked and saw the resemblance to the previous Cai De, but since she was no longer the original soul, she quickly doused any of the kindling hopes.
She totally ignored Cai De, because at this moment, what she was focusing on was the warmth on her arm as she was gently led to sit on the nearby chair. Her hair was tussled softly, and she looked up to see the culprit.
Teng Zexi met with her dull eyes and felt remorse at not having come earlier. He carefully let her sit on the chair before turning around to face the couple. His gentle demeanour seemed nothing but a lie. But before he could join Qin Zedong in bashing the couple’s face, he felt a tug on his shirt.
Qin Huang had reached out to pinch his shirt before she could properly think her decision. When she noticed her hold, she froze – unsure what course of action she should follow next. In the end, she didn’t dare look up to see his face and merely let go. Her slowly retracting hand went to seek shelter to her chest, and only then did she looked up.
She saw that Teng Zexi’s cheeks were a tinge of red and that he actually turned to the side as soon as their eyes met. Qin Huang’s dull eyes curved in a split second but quickly came back to its dullness. Internally, she was a mess.
Qin Huang: OMAYGAD! I actually almost OOC! Kyaaaa~ this is so meng!!
Lily: *wears earbuds* Master … I can still hear you despite the earbuds *cries*
Teng Zexi finally escaped her clutches and went to find Qin Zedong. All the while, his cheeks were a deep shade of red and his ears had started to reddened as well. Qin Huang was seriously considering if she should one day tease him until he was red all over.
But at that moment, unfortunately, that was not what she needed to focus on about. Qin Zedong and Teng Zexi were doing all their best to rip off the couple’s face when the little koala had risen up from her seat. She glanced around and found that everyone was intently focused on watching the two prestigious families fight.
It was her chance.
Qin Huang turned around and headed towards the entrance of the building – she quietly and stealthy disappeared, again.
The moment that Qin Huang had left, was also the moment that Teng Zexi felt his skip a beat as if telling him of a looming problem that was sure to happen again. He abruptly turned to look at Qin Huang, but what he saw it was just an empty chair. He turned to look all over places. She escaped again! Teng Zexi bolted outside of the restaurant while hoping to catch Qin Huang before she got too far.
Qin Zedong saw his movements and mirrored his previous actions. His face contorted terribly as the rage he had to the couple was mixed with his worry for his sister. He gave the ghastly pale and frightened couple one last piercing glance before running after Teng Zexi.
Qin Huang had arrived at a park situated near the base of a mountain. Since she was a regular customer there, she simply bypassed the securities while giving them a weak high five. It was a first for them to see her look so forlorn, so they immediately gave way and let her do as she pleased.
There was a fenced cliff right up top the mountain where the view of the dense forest and a variety of birds could be seen. Qin Huang sat on the fence as she looked over. She could not understand the constricting pain in her heart.
She looked at the forest below and wondered what would happen if she fell.
“Qin Huang!!!” Teng Zexi frantically pulled the dazed Qin Huang – who had already been standing at the edges of the cliff.
His heart was about to burst in fright as he had vividly imagined her jumping before he could do anything. He hugged her tightly to ease his worries while panting to catch his breath. He had run with all his might from the base of the mountain to the top. Even if he had the energy, it was still quite a feat.
Qin Huang’s heart was startled by the tight yet warm hug. Her eyes narrowed as she felt comfortable in his embrace. When she remembered that Cai De had actually never hugged her like this before, she cried. She silently sobbed while drenching Teng Zexi’s expensive suit.
But Teng Zexi didn’t even care about his suit at that moment, he was too busy calming his own rapidly beating heart and patting the crying girls in his arms. His murderous aura could not be concealed this time when he remembered the culprit for Qin Huang’s tears. He could wait to personally beat him up.
Qin Huang seemed to have reverted back to a child and cried indignantly. She clutched on to Teng Zexi’s shirt, and her body had mirrored her shaking heart.
Qin Huang: Zexi smells so good~
Lily: *exasperated* Master …
Qin Huang didn’t seem to hear Lily’s pleading voice in her mind and continued to secretly eat tofu. She cried in Teng Zexi’s arms until the sun had gotten tired of their dog food and left – replaced by a brightly lit moon.
She noticed the change of temperature, and only then did she stopped crying. The last of her tears were wiped away by Teng Zexi’s fingers, and it was as if the last of her sorrows were wiped as well. Qin Huang looked up from below and frowned lightly. She could not understand the man’s obvious gentleness.
Teng Zexi did not notice her doubt and continued to pat her hair softly. “Let’s take home. No buts.” He gently but firmly said.
He caught Qin Huang’s hand and led her down the mountain. It was quite strange. He was clearly holding her gently, but when Qin Huang tried to pull away, she couldn’t. A gentle yet iron grip? Qin Huang’s tendency to break rules ignited again. Her eyes narrowed as she took a glance at Teng Zexi’s profile from the back.
With a slightly curved up lips, she brought his hand to her lips and made the loudest smacking sound she could do.
Teng Zexi widened his eyes in shock, and his hold finally loosened. He was still dumbstruck and standing in the same spot when Qin Huang had already run down the mountain all by herself. She ran out of the park, all the way to her hotel, and only stopped to take a breath when she shut her door close.
She did not change nor took a shower and immediately dived, face-first, to her soft bed. Although she had already cried earlier, she still had to look miserable and cry even more. She was sure that her brothers would definitely barge in her room and take her back to the mansion. If she didn’t show that she cried herself to sleep, wouldn’t she be committing OOC?
