Aria’s Tales - Chapter 50 3.9 Miss Troublemaker
Hu Yazhu, a well-known entrepreneur who once swept China into a storm, a billionaire, and a handsome man whose ranking in the “Men to be Wed” is fixedly at fourth. For Zhelan to catch this man’s eyes, his feminine charms were definitely frightening considering that he is a guy.
Zhelan shyly looked away while gluing himself to his bestie, who happened to be amused by the situation and felt like teasing him. Qin Huang suddenly pushed him into Hu Yazhu’s arms with no guilty conscience attached, offering her own friend to an obvious wolf. Although as to who was the real wolf, Qin Huang has no comment.
“W- wa! Feng!” He cried out with a sweet voice that sounded like music to the men’s ears.
Hu Yazhu caught the beauty who turned to his friend and glared with teary eyes, and Zhelan’s sweet fragrance did not help his increasing lust. He chuckled. He had seen many women in his circle but most of them were strong-willed. Even when he met a pure one, they would not survive for long in such a hideous environment.
As such, he had acquired the habit of taking the innocent beauties into a one night stand. But was Zhelan going to let him make him a one night stand?
Zhelan would laugh. He has in his history of “seduction records” that he had made a veteran commander obsessed with him. Hu Yazhu may not be an easy target, but he was mediocre at most in Zhelan’s eyes.
Qin Huang didn’t seem to see her friend’s begging look as she left while waving her hand as a goodbye. Moving over to sit on the only empty seat of a poker table that was situated near the floor-to-ceiling windows. The people in there did not seem surprised at her intrusion and merely continued playing the game. Compared to the surrounding lively tables, it was obvious that they were more solemn.
While Zhelan was busy stoking Hu Yazhu’s flames, Qin Huang had already consecutively won three rounds of poker, and finally got the attention of their second target, Song Wen.
This man was the owner of the largest and famous Casino in the city, and that fact alone was enough for people to fear him. He was a harder fish to catch that Zhelan had wanted to take care of him instead, but Qin Huang reassured him that she can handle it. Considering Qin Huang’s level of luck and skills in flirting, Zhelan was excited to see how things would turn out.
Another round had just begun when the table had already been crowded by curious onlookers who were eager to see the skills of the beauty after they heard of her consecutive wins. Song Wen was also glancing at her every now and then. His eyes full of curiosity rather than desire. This was what made him a tougher man to catch.
He was not one to fall under the schemes of beautiful women, but he greatly appreciated those with skills. And Poker had a soft spot in his heart. In his eyes, Qin Huang was just like any other woman. But after she won three consecutive wins at poker, Qin Huang became a gem in his eyes.
“… Royal flush.”
A wondrous voice echoed in the still silence and collective gasps were the immediate response as Qin Huang laid down her cards, elegantly and nonchalantly taking another win. Seemingly bored at the “easy” takedowns, she got up from her seat and walked over to a sofa against the windows; she even sighed in defeat at having found no competition.
Song Wen’s eyes brightened even more. He stood up from his seat, took two glasses of red wine, and made his way over to Qin Huang. But right after he sat down the drinks unto a glass table in front of Qin Huang, she seemed to have just noticed him, frowned, and stood up to leave.
“Does the beauty not like me?” Song Wen said while he was internally surprised.
Qin Huang paused and sharply turned to him. Her disinterested face tickling at Song Wen’s competitive nature. “No. It was ABC poker, but you didn’t even win.” Then she left and did not even take a second glance back.
Contrary to the normal reaction, Song Wen took a sip on his glass and a subtle smile formed on his lips. His interest burning.
And just like this, Song Wen and Qin Huang played a game of a slightly wild-goose chase – Qin Huang being the one running and Song Wen was the one chasing. It was so absurd to see Song Wen chasing a girl that the news circulated in the hotel like wildfire, and Qin Huang was already tagged as Song Wen’s woman – even though she was clearly yet to be won over.
Zhelan, on the other hand, was already acting smitten with Hu Yazhu, but he clearly wasn’t going to make it easier for the man as he kept on refusing Hu Yazhu’s invitations to his room, that was located in the underground part of the hotel.
This was the main reason why they were trying to win over these two men – to get access to the VIP suites of the hotel in the underground. Since to be able to book a room there, you had to have a close connection to the owner or your identity is something to be feared in the higher social circle.
So while Zhelan waited for Song Wen to invite Qin Huang, he went all around the hotel to plant minuscule bombs.
Of course, they weren’t just going to leave this place intact and not go off with a bang!
These minuscule bombs were made by none other than Qin Zedong, but the inventor himself doesn’t even know that his inventions were being used especially since at the moment, he was busy helping with finding his MIA sister. These bombs – though tiny – have the same strength as a regular hand grenade. If the military finds out about them, they would probably go nuts.
“Playing hard to get?” Zhelan whispered as he was about to leave from Qin Huang’s room.
They were having their usual girl bonding time in Qin Huang’s room, which was mainly gossiping until Zhelan remembered that he forgot to plant bombs on the first floor.
Qin Huang rolled her eyes exaggeratedly and poked at her friend’s waist, tickling Zhelan until he was teary-eyed. “If he takes a game from me, then I’ll consider.” She smiled as her eyes curved playfully.
Zhelan rolled her eyes too and giggled. But when she turned around and stepped out of the door, she froze.
Song Wen was just passing by when he heard Qin Huang’s voice and his competitive nature, paired with his growing affections over the past days, burned brighter. Qin Huang had shown him that while he was the Prince of Poker, she had already reached the Queen level. And this fact alone made him determined to at least befriend the girl.
“I’ll take your word for it.” Song Wen grinned then left in graceful strides.
Zhelan squealed like a girl and nudged Qin Huang’s arms, and surprisingly her ears started to redden. Qin Huang humphed her way back inside her room and was about to close the door. She peaked on a small gap from behind the door with slightly pink cheeks and shyly said, “Get ready tomorrow.” Then, she closed her door.
Zhelan’s eyes twinkled.
While the girls were busy playing with the men and planting bombs – a very normal thing to do, Lily was given the task to monitor the entire hotel. As such, Qin Huang and Lily exhausted all possible ways of escape, taking into consideration any unexpected surprises… like Teng Zexi who had just stepped one foot at the entrance of the hotel.
His familiar fiery red hair startled Lily greatly that her cry of fear made Qin Huang spill her tea.
“T- T- The b- b- boss is here!!!” Lily pounced unto Qin Huang’s chest with teary eyes.
She seemed more terrified and worried than her master who only blinked and raised her eyebrows in surprise. Then, she sighed in relief. “Thank god!”
Qin Huang made Lily poof out of sight and walked out of her room. Seemingly walking unhurriedly when in reality, she had gotten towards the end of the hallway in a mere five seconds – that was about ten meters from her room.
‘Eh?!’ Lily stumbled in Qin Huang’s mind with question marks were floating on top of her head. She was utterly confused.
‘Ahhhh I miss him so much! I thought I was going to die! I’ve been troubleshooting ways just to see him again that I even almost decided to send them a hint to where I was!! Thank god he found me before I did~’ Qin Huang giddily hopped into an elevator and hummed while staring as the numbers go down.
Teng Zexi’s appearance was so timely, she wondered if he had a radar that makes him go wherever she was. After all, it had been three days as well since she had seen him at the rundown bar. One more day and she might have abandoned her game right as the clock struck twelve!
The elevator went down to the main floor unhindered, and the sight of Teng Zexi’s side profile as he stared blankly at a palm tree in the lobby, healed the loneliness inside Qin Huang’s heart.
She found her peace again.
Yes. There was a real palm tree inside the hotel that reached the second floor of the building. It was in a dome-shaped area at the center of the main floor where a green paradise was set up for attraction.
Teng Zexi was under a lone palm tree, staring into nothing, and his right hand clutched unto his phone – on high alert for any incoming calls. Despite losing the liveness and wildness he had as a mafia boss after insomnia and restlessness had taken over, his good looks still retained. But it was crystal clear to whoever saw him that he was currently the epitome of gloom.
Qin Huang took one step forward towards his direction, and almost drowned out Lily’s warning. She badly wanted to hug him at that moment. She had never seen her love looking so devastated that the whole world seemed to have lost its life.
She wanted to hug him at that moment, kiss him, and pet his hair to ease his worries. ‘I’m here.’
‘Master! Think about it! Tomorrow’s the last day! And if you really go there now, you’d only be committing OOC! A big one too~! Huhu master~ listen to meee~’ Lily was jumping in Qin Huang’s mind, hopping to get her master’s attention, but Qin Huang only took another step forward making her hop faster in fright.
“Feng?”
A male voice called out from behind Qin Huang. His deep masculine voice reverberated in her ears and woke her up from her dreams.
In just a blink, she brought back inside the desires that were about to control her and turned around with a questioning face. Her earlier blank eyes were back to its glistening playful one.
Lily was absolutely exhausted that she sprawled in Qin Huang’s mind, and she was relieved that her master finally stepped back. She was not ready to see her master destroying another world ah! And now that the boss was here, she wondered what kind of blackhole was going to be summoned if it ever happened. She had no attachment to whatever gets destroyed. What worried her was her master accidentally destroying Shen Yan’s soul.
So great was the power, that her master found it hard to control.
If Shen Yan was gone…
Lily’s little heart shook. She had to work harder to help her master! ‘Right, let’s outline the events tomorrow once again so as not to make a mistake. Ah! Must also make sure there are at least 100 plans of possible counterattacks if a mishap did happen. Huhu~ master don’t go berserk yet please~’
