Aria’s Tales - Chapter 54 3.13 Miss Troublemaker
Qin Huang gave them the brightest smile and showed them a rectangular remote, then mouthed “buh bye” before pressing on its only button.
Every floor in the building simultaneously exploded. In just a few seconds, it’s debris came crashing down.
The crowd at the rooftop panicked as multiple screams echoed through the night; the people on the streets were no better since they were within the blast radius. Multiple sirens answered the explosion, and the city came alive.
Qin Huang felt as if time slowed. She was too distracted by the lingering kiss on her lips that she didn’t even care about the crashing building that she worked hard on to explode.
She peaked at the man who had his arms locked around her and found that he had been staring at her this whole time. Qin Huang blushed and looked away, but then quickly realized that her playgirl pride was crumbling. Girl up Huang! What are you doing acting like a princess?!
She turned back and cupped Teng Zexi’s face. With the brightest smile she could muster, she said, “Zexi gege, you kissed me. Was that a confession?”
Teng Zexi’s eyes widened slightly. It now only came to him that what he did was indeed a confession. So, it meant that he likes her? He stared at the girl’s bright eyes and watched as it fluttered like butterfly wings.
No. I think I love her.
That realization made him blush. His stoic face was suddenly coloured in pink. But since he was still wearing a serious-looking expression, he looked comical. Qin Huang couldn’t restrain her laughter in time.
Qin Huang: Aaaaaah he is so cute~! Kiss! I want to kiss him!! *squeezes Lily into a hug*
Lily: *is squished*
“Hehe~ Zexi gege, do you realize how cute you look right now?”
Teng Zexi frowned. To call a man cute, and especially to an ironclad man, Qin Huang was seriously fearless. He looked questioningly at Qin Huang showing his obvious disapproval but was only met with more heartfelt laughter.
Qin Huang squirmed and was about to leave Teng Zexi’s lap despite the fact that her heart refused to. But she hadn’t even taken a step on the helicopter’s floor when Teng Zexi tightened his hold. Qin Huang looked at him oddly.
“No.” Teng Zexi firmly said.
More question marks floated on top of Qin Huang. No what? No leaving his warm lap?
Teng Zexi breathed in deeply as he tried to stop his urge to pet the cutely confused girl. “If I take even one second of my eyes off you, who knows where you’ll vanish.” So I have to hold you. His face darkened when a certain memory flashed on his mind.
He frowned. “I am not letting you go bungee jumping as well.”
Qin Huang was startled. Then she laughed.
She was laughing so hard that her shoulders were shaking and a tear formed on the corner of her eyes. But she had to admit, she really was thinking of bungee jumping. There was just no way she could sit so calmly and behave while being sent home!
She couldn’t recognize the pilot when she entered the aircraft, which meant he was either one of Teng Zexi’s man or her brother’s. Therefore the destination can only be her home.
Qin Huang stared at Teng Zexi’s eyes and he stared back.
Should I kiss him?
Or should I kiss him?
Her eyes curved in thought.
Pang!
A bullet hit the body of the helicopter causing it to sway. Whatever Qin Huang was planning to do was suddenly swept away. She abruptly looked at the perpetrator and found two identical helicopters following them. There was big bold lettering of ‘Police’ on its side.
Qin Huang was exasperated. “Are they crazy? Why did they shoot us?” Says the one who caused havoc in Lotux hotel.
She couldn’t be blamed though since her brothers were of equal standing to the government, the police would usually just show some effort of chasing her if they realized her identity. Even if she changed her appearance, they should have known who caused the explosion since her brothers had gone to the hotel to look for her.
Teng Zexi clicked his tongue and pulled out his phone, speedily dialling a phone number he long memorized. Seconds later, the other side answered.
“Those guys have moved.” He said with a deep voice.
Qin Huang frowned. Once more, she couldn’t help but hate the fact that the information she had was limited to what the original has. It all came from the memories and it stopped right as the original died. Even if she wanted to know what happened right after the original died, she couldn’t.
“What’s happening?” Her playful tone was gone.
Teng Zexi looked at her serious face and felt that something was stuck on his throat. The difference between Qin Huang’s playful and serious side made him refuse to involve her to their mess. He preferred she could be as carefree as she was when they were in the carnival.
Bullets rained on them and the aircraft swerved to dodge it. Seeing that the once obedient police force suddenly became aggressive, Qin Huang knew she had no time for tit or tat.
She caught Teng Zexi’s collar and glared at him. “What. Is. Happening.”
Teng Zexi refused and bit his lips.
Qin Huang couldn’t believe it. Who is this stubborn kid biting his lips since he refused to obey her? Is this man really a mafia lord? She raised her eyebrow.
“Fine. Zhelan give me the pen.”
Zhelan quickly pulled a pen from his belt and carefully handed it to Qin Huang. Under Teng Zexi’s confused and stubborn look, she aimed the point to one of the police’s helicopter. When she pressed one of the buttons, a steel came flying through and embed itself to the aircraft. She pressed another button and sparks engulfed the aircraft before dying down together with its engine. The helicopter descended as its power was lost.
Qin Huang turned to the amazed Teng Zexi and gave him her brightest smile. “Now that I’m involved, shouldn’t I know what I’m dealing with?”
Teng Zexi’s mouth twitched. He looked at Qin Huang’s proud face and felt his resolve crumbling down. “It’s the government. They allied with the elites in the city to take your brothers down.” He said through a sigh.
Qin Huang’s smile turned cold. So the original’s wish didn’t just amount to her brother’s business being attacked? It looks like I’ll have to change some plans.
It was no wonder her brothers hadn’t had the chance to exact ‘punishment’ on Cai De. With Xia family as his backing and the Xia family being allied with the government, her brothers had to tread the path carefully; but that also costed them the death of their beloved sister.
She hadn’t built a grudge against Cai De and Xia Xinyi before but now, she wished she could have a chance to punch them at least once. No matter how much she loved Cai De, it wasn’t comparable to her familial love.
Lily: Yes! We can now punch that fake white lotus bitch and blind man! I can’t wait! *throws confetti*
Qin Huang: Pfft- haha!
Lily continued to dance around inside Qin Huang’s mind but on the outside, the atmosphere had reached a degree lower.
Qin Huang tasted a metallic taste on her lips. She didn’t realize she had bitten her lips hard enough for it to bleed.
A rough hand pinched her chin in hopes to stop her from biting. “Don’t bite. They aren’t worth it.” Teng Zexi softly said.
Qin Huang looked at him and found only genuine kindness. She tried again to find if there were any resemblance to Cai De and Song Wen’s lust but still couldn’t find any. Her building thoughts of generalizing men as one of a kind – aside from her brothers – was once again shaken. Maybe he’s the only one that’s different?
The Qin Huang on the outside was lost in thought. But the Qin Huang on the inside was melting.
Qin Huang: Aww~ That’s so sweet! They aren’t even worth anything for me to bite my lip~
Lily: I have a strange feeling that the boss just upgraded…
They were well lost in their own world that they actually forgot the remaining police helicopter! The pilot had done his best in dodging the raining bullets but he wasn’t a superhuman himself. They finally noticed the severity of the situation when the ever silent pilot calmly called mayday.
Zhelan, who was quietly and openly eating dog food, finally got out of his trance and used another pen to stop the enemy aircraft. Seeing the last helicopter going down to the open field, he marvelled at how much Qin Huang’s brother helped them with his “prototype” inventions.
“We have to land.” Teng Zexi yelled to the pilot against the noisy warning alerts from the aircraft.
Landing a damaged helicopter was easier said than done. It wobbled so much that Teng Zexi was afraid Qin Huang would take the opportunity to bungee jumping, so he hugged her tightly in one hand and held on to a handle near the door.
Despite the shaking descent, Qin Huang felt safe and warm. She almost wanted to sleep right then and there but she couldn’t act out of character. Moreover, they were in a dangerous situation – not exactly the ideal time to sleep.
With the pilot’s skills, the aircraft landed upright. But as soon as they touched the ground, everyone booked out of the helicopter and ran away as fast as they could, except for Qin Huang who was literally carried in bridal style.
The helicopter finally couldn’t take it and exploded, which lighted the night and Teng Zexi’s stoic face. Qin Huang swore she saw iris flowers blooming in the background. She also found that his ears and neck were red, and he formed no sweat despite the distance he ran.
Teng Zexi could hear his heart beating like wild drums. His only hoped that Qin Huang couldn’t hear it. He turned to face her and was met with teasing eyes, but he made himself believe she still couldn’t hear his heart so as not to get a heart attack. “Ahem, let’s go.”
Qin Huang really didn’t have much of a say, since Teng Zexi was still holding her and refused to let go. She finally realized how her man could turn into such a clingy person when he hasn’t seen her in such a long time. It was cute and funny, so she let him do as he pleased.
Although that didn’t mean she would behave.
While they walked to the nearest city, as per Qiao’s guidance, Qin Huang was having fun playing with Teng Zexi… in more ways than one. She had pressed her chest to his and poked the back of his neck. When he pried her hands off his neck, she changed target and played with his ears.
Everywhere she touched, had turned into bright cherries. Teng Zexi almost wanted to cuff her hands so they could stay put.
They arrived at the outskirts of the city where a black car was waiting for them.
“Boss, where to?” The driver asked as he opened the door.
“My house.”
Teng Zexi gently placed Qin Huang on the seat and only relaxed when all the doors were closed and locked – the only way to open them was to press a button under the seat. Qin Huang didn’t know this, so Teng Zexi sighed in relief.
Now his only problem was if Qin Huang teased him. To this, he wasn’t sure how much he could handle.
Fortunately for him, Qin Huang had fallen asleep. Her head lightly bumped to his shoulders as her body leaned on him. Teng Zexi could finally take a breather.
He pushed away the loose hair that covered her eyes and watched as she laid her safety unto his hands. If she could sleep so peacefully beside him, it meant that she trusted him right?
Teng Zexi smiled.
