Aria’s Tales - Chapter 55 3.14 Miss Troublemaker
When Qin Huang woke up, she saw an unfamiliar ceiling and smelled a vanilla scent wafting in the air. The place was decorated in a vintage theme, and pictures of familiar-looking boys past by. It was Teng Zexi and Sun Xue.
She could only assume that she was in Teng Zexi’s house.
The butler walking one step behind Teng Zexi moved forward to open the door to their guest room. Although his face was stoic like his master, he was internally perplexed. It was the first time a woman was allowed inside the house. Moreover, it was by Teng Zexi’s will himself!
He closed the door quietly despite drowning in his curiosity.
Qin Huang pretended to still be asleep while Teng Zexi gently placed her unto the bed. It was soft and a bit cold. It was apparent that no one had used it for a long time, if at all.
She felt a warm hand pet her head, and the soft blanket that was made of fur over her chest.
The gentleness startled her.
If a man was alone with a girl like Qin Huang, wouldn’t he have already taken advantage of the situation? Even Song Wen, who was rumoured to have no interest in such things, couldn’t stop himself from lusting over her.
Qin Huang’s heart was beating crazily. Why was he just petting my hair? Isn’t he going under the blankets as well? Why?
She knew she was generalizing men, but Cai De was one and Song Wen was the same. Even the people at the hotel had the same reaction. It was also the first time she had gotten a closer look at people’s reactions. Before, she only had eyes for Cai De.
She finally saw that what they saw was only her appearance, and not who she really is. She had hoped for Song Wen, but that didn’t really end well.
So why is Teng Zexi not following the norms?
Lily: Because he is the boss!
Qin Huang: Hehe~ Good girl, I’ll bake you cookies later~
Lily: YES!
Teng Zexi slowly stood up and turned to leave. But his arm was caught, and he was suddenly tugged backwards to fall unto the bed. He was about to sit up in reflex, but Qin Huang had already taken the top position, sitting on his stomach with both of her hands on his chest.
“Zexi gege, where do you think you’re going?” She grinned. Her face filled with mischief.
Teng Zexi’s view was too much. The attack was so sudden that it even crit. Despite using all his internal strength to stop his reaction, he couldn’t. His face darkened yet his ears and neck were red.
Something was poking Qin Huang’s butt, and it made her raise her eyebrows. See? All men are the same.
Internally, Qin Huang trusted Teng Zexi. He was her man for two lifetimes already. He was tailor-made for her. He wasn’t like any other man. She knew he wouldn’t do it because the Qin Huang on the outside was not showing any hint of romantic interest. The original was having trust issues, so she has to break it before it completely manifests.
Sorry honey, I’ll wrong you for now.
Qin Huang traced Teng Zexi’s collar and opened a button. Her fingers would touch his neck intentionally and her mid-length nails grazed his chin.
It was a different kind of torture that Teng Zexi hadn’t experienced before. His body was burning and the bed sheets caught in his fists were about to be crushed to powder. He stared hungrily at Qin Huang.
But when he saw her dulled eyes and saddened smile, his mind quickly sobered. His body cooled and his heart ached. He realized what she was thinking.
Teng Zexi swiftly turned the positions and pinned Qin Huang’s hands to the bed. He caressed her cold cheeks and rubbed it to warm them. “Don’t do that again.” He said in his deep voice.
Qin Huang could not hide her shock in time. Her eyes widened, and her lips slightly parted.
Teng Zexi would have dived in for the kiss if only their situation wasn’t so complicated.
“I’m not Cai De. Don’t replace me over him.” He couldn’t resist it and kissed her forehead. Then he stood up, nonchalantly buttoning his shirt, and repositioned Qin Huang on the bed – who was still like a statue. Lastly, he covered her to her chin with the blanket she had tossed.
Teng Zexi left after turning off the lights, leaving a soft “good night” to echo in the deadly silent room.
Qin Huang stared at the door, then to the ceiling. She raised her hands and looked at her palm before tears started to fall on the pillow.
Qin Huang: *falls on her knees* He rejected me!
Lily: …
Qin Huang: I set up such a feisty meal for him but he rejected it!
Lily: … I thought that was the plan?
Qin Huang: *pouts* He gave up so quickly. I haven’t even reached the bottom buttons!
Lily: >.>
Qin Huang cried herself to sleep. Mainly because she realized how much the break up was still affecting her, but also because she was rejected – courtesy of Aria.
The morning came so quickly that it was the first time for Qin Huang to have a dreamless night. It felt like time skipped and as if she hadn’t slept at all. The glaring rays of the sun, however, told her otherwise.
She dazedly got out of bed and out of the room, where she heard familiar voices discussing in a rather serious tone.
“Xia’s forces came at our doorstep. Tsk, those goddamn old bastards must have sent them. What Xia’s forces? They are clearly using the Xia family as a shield.”
“Shui! Watch your mouth.”
“…Leave him. No one’s an outsider here.”
Qin Huang quietly peaked behind a wine red curtains and looked down to what seemed like the living room. There were four couches at the center circling a round table, a pool table on one of the corners, and an office desk near a window. The vintage vibe made the room feel peaceful.
But the 5 men’s aura ruined it, making the room feel out of reach. As if the room was some holy place where mortals are forbidden.
Qin Huang’s brothers were all present. Qin Shui and Qin Jingyi were sitting on the couches, while Qin Zedong and Qin Cheng were near the office desk – Teng Zexi stood beside it.
Qin Zedong slightly widened his eyes when he heard Qin Cheng’s words. Did that mean he has accepted Teng Zexi? He felt his heart hallowed. After all, out of all the brothers, he was the one who was closest to their sister. He knew the time would come when he had to give her away, but he didn’t thought it would be so soon.
“They want us out? Fine, we’ll do as they say. Tell them to meet at the open field 10 miles from the outskirts of the city.” Qin Cheng said in a cold voice.
Almost simultaneously, all heads turned to him in shock. But when they saw his gleaming eyes, they knew it wasn’t as simple as just “meeting” them. Although they weren’t quite sure why it would be in an open field, they kept their questions inside.
Except for one person.
“Gege, what are you going to do?” Qin Huang voiced out from the second floor.
Everyone turned towards her direction and saw her jump from the railings, landing with a thump on the marble floor – disregarding the stairs that would have only taken at least 10 steps for her to get to.
The four brother’s had to blink a few times as they registered their sister’s new look. Since her face was bare with no makeup, her disguise had long been erased. But the blonde hair was permanently colored, so it still glistened as it hit the sun.
She looked wilder than when she had black hair.
Qin Zedong immediately stood up and walked towards her. “Mei mei! I’m glad you’re awake. How were the gadgets?” He asked with an innocent smile.
Qin Huang almost answered him, but stopped and glared at his smiling brother. “Don’t change the topic.” She moved her glare to Qin Cheng and asked again. “What are you going to do?”
Who was Qin Huang? She was the only princess in their family, even the family head couldn’t win against her. With a wry smile, Qin Cheng answered, “Call them out then blast them. Leave the country and blast it too.”
Everyone’s heads were covered in cold sweat.
Brother… can you not be so domineering??!!
Qin Zedong had to facepalm in spite of himself and Qin Huang blankly stood for a good 10 seconds. The rest were too speechless to react.
“Gege, isn’t that overboard?”
Qin Cheng frowned as he pondered the question. But his face didn’t let up, rather he was genuinely confused. “How so?”
Another drop of cold sweat couldn’t help but befall their heads. If this happened every time Qin Huang was attacked, wouldn’t the whole world be charred?
Even if Qin Huang love making trouble, but bombing an entire country … she wasn’t so cruel to kill innocent people.
“Cheng gege,” Qin Huang’s eyes and lips curved up, but her tone seemed cold sending chills on the men’s back, “you can blast the government all you want, but no blasting an entire country okay?”
for visiting.
Qin Cheng still had a question mark on his face, but he nodded obediently at his sister’s words.
Everyone sighed quietly in relief and felt that the world’s end was almost instigated. It seems their older brother was more furious than he looked.
Qin Cheng noticed their synchronicity and genuinely didn’t understand. But he was too prideful to ask, so he changed the topic.
“It will be dangerous. Teng Zexi will take you to US. Don’t come.”
Qin Huang’s smiling face drastically turned into a pout. “I want to come.”
“No.” “No way!” “Hell nah.” “Sorry Mei.”
Teng Zexi firmly shook his head.
The men’s reaction was so in sync that Qin Huang ended up taking a step back. She held her ground back and placed her hand on her hips. “You all know what I’m going to do anyway, so why take the harder route?” She grinned from ear to ear, exposing her white teeth.
The men were dumbstruck. They fell into deep thought and as each scenario ran through their head, their faces grew darker. On the contrary, Qin Huang’s face lit up like sunshine.
“Then that does it. I’m coming!”
She bounced from her spot and giggled. The men could only watch as their temples started to ache. What could they do? Lock her up? Such a thought, never crossed their minds.
Qin Cheng heavily sighed. “Alright, saves me the time to show you something.”
Qin Huang pause from her bouncing and tilted her head. “Hm?”
Qin Cheng smiled and vicious look surface on his face. “What were their names again? Something-De and something-Yi? ”
Qin Shui scratched his nose. “Cai De and Xinyi.” Then he looked away from Qin Zedong’s glare. Qin Zedong moved his glare to Qin Cheng but found that his signals all went unnoticed. He was terribly worried.
Qin Huang’s joyous face changed. “What about them?”
Her tone was monotonic and dry, to which everyone heaved a sigh. At the very least, it doesn’t seem like their sister still had any lingering attachment to Cai De.
Teng Zexi also visibly relaxed. Last night, he was sure that Qin Huang was still in love with Cai De. But if it wasn’t Cai De, why did she look so sad? Teng Zexi’s head was about to explode from all the questions.
“Oh, nothing much. I found them in Lotux Hotel and brought them wherever. I am more a hundred percent sure they would love to meet you.” Qin Cheng’s smile was growing colder and colder.
Qin Huang kept her blank face. “Oh?” She didn’t want to see them. She definitely don’t want to see him. But she figured, if she kept looking away, she’d only continue to bear the pain. She had to find her resolution soon enough, so she could move on.
She stole a quick glance at Teng Zexi and slowly smiled. “Sure. I’ll meet them.”
