Army of True Salvation (English) - Chapter 176:Dream Beyond
The others went inside the house to fix the things they needed. Geof and Tyler went went to the other side of the garden starting their training. They even taught the students and the parents.
The only ones left were Sheloah and Veon. Both of them were under the shade of the tree. Veon was resting his head on Sheloah’s lap. They had two hours left before the official start of their training, so they decided to have some rest first before heading off to their training camps.
Sheloah looked at the sky as she remembered their class, 4A.
Their class had many handsome boys in it. There were also a lot of beautiful girls. Most of them were good at playing basketball and volleyball, too. Most of the varsity players are found in their class, too.
They also loved playing the guitar and singing together. There were choir members and instrumentalists in their class. Even though their class was somewhat noisy, they still had fun and enjoyed being in class together.
It was already the month of February and because of the zombie apocalypse, they hadn’t even reached their graduation. Their class however, achieved a lot of things together.
They made the best silent drill with the use of sticks during their cheer competition. But because of the zombie apocalypse, the sportsfest didn’t even take place.
Their own composition for the graduation song, however, was chosen for their graduation. But with the situation now, even graduation didn’t take place.
Sheloah kept reminiscing about the good times as she sang the graduation they composed for the occasion. It was entitled, “Dream Beyond.”
Right here in this point of our lives
We’re about to start a new chapter
And all that we can think of are
Although it was not the best class for Sheloah, she still appreciated their class for being honest and for accepting her for who she was compared to all of the classes she had been to. She felt happy to have known her best friends, Veon, Isobel, Tyler… and Josh.
In the midst of not so good times
You stir and continue to inspire us
You taught us what’s right, make our decisions our light
Well thank you, because of you.. well thank you, because of you
Other than their parents who were their first teachers, the school shaped them into becoming the person they are now.
Now we can stand tall, do the best that we can
We can reach up high, hold the world in our hands
Our success before us, reachable because of you
Now we can stand proud and say thank you
If it weren’t for their parents, friends, and their teachers, they wouldn’t have learned anything. They have to admit that they could not stand on their own yet and that they needed their guide. Learning is indeed one of the constant things in the world and none could change that.
We all smile together as one
As we leave this school we’ve grown up
We all dream beyond
We al dream beyond
They were all dreamers—always wanting and desiring something big for themselves. But now that this happened, the only big dream that they share is surviving and fighting together for safety.
Continuing to deepen our faith
Promoting life as much as we can
A Louisian mindful at heart
Transforming love until the end
Louisians until the end
In their school, they called themselves Louisians. It was a Catholic school and their patron saint was St. Aloysius De Gonzaga and the foundress of their school was Mother Marie Louise De Meester. Their theme for the school year 2013-2014 was “Deepening Faith, Transforming Love, Promoting Life.”
No matter what they say
We do the best we can
Even challenges may come our way
We do the best we can
Still we made through because of you
Sheloah stopped and was already crying. She realized that they were all doing their best to fight so they can stay together. The girl’s heart ached the moment she remembered those people who were no longer around. Sir Cesar, Ace, and Josh.
Veon reached for the girls face and wiped her tears, making Sheloah startled.
“Hey,” he said warmly then he sat up, and pulled her in his arms. “I know what you’re thinking. Their sacrifices aren’t in vain,” he said and this made Sheloah tear up more.
“I’m sorry,” she said and Veon hugged her tightly.
“You don’t have to be,” the boy said as he caressed the girl’s hair, comforting her.
“Thanks, Veon,” Sheloah said then Veon gave her a warm smile, then planted a kiss on her forehead.
