Army of True Salvation (English) - Chapter 193:Take Care
They were already on their way to NLEX. Sheloah looked at the time on her watch; it was already 12:30PM.
They all ate lunch early, starting 11AM sharp. While they were eating, they listened to Erick, Jun, and John summarize the plan and answered most of the students’ questions.
Erick made most of the plans for them and Jun and John gave him suggestions. The plans are to be carried out by the seven groups, having six members each.
For now, they would go to NLEX together. Once they arrive there, all of them will disperse along with their respective group.
At first when they heard about this, they were surprised about that decision made by Erick but because of his explanation, they really found it the best possible way to arrive to their destination.
He said one of the main purposes of this is not to attract large groups of zombies if ever they all stay in one big group. He said that if groups took specific paths going to their destination, it would make fighting the zombies easier.
Although, this plan can have its disadvantages. Like one of it in which the group might find it difficult to fight off the zombies against them. But it is better than attracting the enemies in such a big number.
Erick told them a specific meeting place marked near the airport. He talked to Glenda, one of the medics and also an artist, to draw a map for each group. Since Manila is such a big place, Glenda made the map simple for everyone to understand with the guide of Erick to specify each location.
On the map, the meeting place was encircled with a red pen. There were other routes indicated as well on which path some groups would take. With this, it made looking at the map easy to understand, even for those who don’t have a sense of direction.
Sheloah’s with the other members of the strike team, Kreiss and Geof. Since the three of them hadn’t joined any group, Erick instructed them to protect the sniper team. With them would also be their adviser since she was assigned as their medic.
Sheloah’s uncle, Jun, joined them as well since he’s the one instructed to look at the routes with the use of the binoculars.
Erick also planned for the sniper team to protect the other groups from afar as much as they can. While they shoot zombies from afar, the sniper team would watch over their backs.
Erick’s goal is for the group to stay alive as much as possible. He said that prioritizing one’s escape is necessary rather than wasting time fighting off the zombies. He also reminded everyone that fighting only comes to play if ever they’re surrounded by the enemy.
All of them were already running towards NLEX. There were zombies chasing them, but they never stopped or rested so they could already arrive at their meeting place. Once zombies approach them, that’s the only time they would attack.
Erick also emphasized protecting their pilot. The three leaders interviewed the pilot and he said that he previously worked in NAIA and was on a short vacation before the apocalypse happened. Right now, he’s doing his best to be alive since one of the things that kept him going is his daughter, one of Sheloah’s classmates who is with them.
Kreiss and Geof went closer to Sheloah and in front of them were the sniper team, the pilot, their personal medic, then their lookout, Jun.
Veon is group 1’s attacker. Since he doesn’t have a special role, he serves as group 1’s leader. As for Shannara, she’s group 2’s support and their medic is Isobel. For Tyler, he serves as group 6’s support.
Group 1 was behind the strike team so Veon suddenly spoke.
“Sheloah.”
“What is it,” the girl asked as she looked at what’s in front of them.
They could already see the aftermath of the car crash. Cars had bumped into each other and there were some dead bodies on the ground.
“Take care.”
His voice was loud enough for the others to hear and this made Sheloah nod and she looked at him briefly.
“Don’t worry. Your dream won’t happen.”
