Army of True Salvation (English) - Chapter 197:Shutting Her Up
They were about to leave the place in an hour. Once they leave this place, there’s no going back so they have to head on to NAIA without stop.
All of them had an hour to themselves before they leave.
Sheloah went to the lounge, avoiding the noise from the big crowd. She sat on the couch, and felt at peace when she was alone.
She wanted to take a nap to calm herself since Kreiss left her hours earlier with a confused heart and mind.
When she laid on the couch, Veon suddenly came in, surprising Sheloah.
“V-Veon! I didn’t expect you to come here,” she said as she sat up, seeing Veon sit on the single couch in front of her.
“I was looking for you.”
Sheloah sighed. “What is it?”
Veon looked at her, feeling nervous.
“How are you feeling now?”
Sheloah cocked her head at the side, wondering why Veon’s acting nervous. She knew him well so seeing him like this, made her curious. But she answered his question anyway.
“I cried too much last night and even though I only had short hours of sleep, I feel better. I want to take a quick nap, though,” Sheloah said and Veon nodded.
“I see,” he said and Sheloah nodded slowly, feeling awkward.
“Is that what you came here for?”
Veon coughed. “You… and Kreiss,” he mumbled, not knowing what to say but Sheloah heard him since only the two of them are present in the lounge.
“What about me and Kreiss?”
When Veon heard her, he avoided her gaze and cleared his throat, feeling shy.
He wanted to confront Sheloah about Kreiss but he did not know how to open it up!
Sheloah raised a brow at him. “Come on, Veon… what’s there to be shy about? We’re alone here in the lounge!”
‘That’s what’s making me nervous! We’re both alone! But… I can’t say this in front of the others as well.’
“You and Kreiss… were together a while ago. What were you guys talking about?”
Veon asked a question and when Sheloah heard this, she coughed violently because she choked on her own saliva. The girl’s face turned red as she remembered once more what they were talking about.
It was Kreiss’ confession!
“We…” Sheloah avoided looking at Veon. “We were talking about the plan,” she said and Veon scoffed, feeling a bit more confident than before.
The moment Sheloah heard this, she stood up abruptly, making Veon look up from where he was sitting.
“You saw us!?”
“I woke up and noticed that you weren’t beside me and your cousin. So I went out to look for you because I was worried. Then I saw you from afar, sitting beside Kreiss then he kissed you on the cheek,” he said then he stood up, making Sheloah nervous.
“Why… do you sound angry,” she said, her voice weak. She noticed that Veon sounded different and that the fire in his eyes were anger so she was backing away slowly.
“I was worried about you and then I suddenly see you like that with Kreiss!?”
When Veon sounded angry, Sheloah stood to her ground, feeling annoyed.
“You know what, Veon… I don’t get why you’re so angry! You act as if you’re my boyfriend, when you’re not,” the girl said and this made the boy walk towards her slowly.
“So?”
When Sheloah heard this, it made her angrier.
“What do you mean, ‘so’!? Now, aren’t you arrogant?” Sheloah scoffed as Veon got closer to her slowly but she still stood in her place. “Just because you know I like you, you act this way? It actually hurts when you show me affection because it’s leading me on. I was even hoping that you will like me back!”
Veon said nothing. He just kept looking at Sheloah seriously with every step he took, making Sheloah furrow her brows, confused and scared.
“Wh-what… are you trying to scare me?”
Veon said nothing. He just kept looking at Sheloah as he walked towards her. Sheloah walked back until she was stopped by the wall behind her.
“What are you doing?”
Veon did a “kabe-don”, making Sheloah look at his face up close. Her face reddened and she avoided Veon’s gaze.
Sheloah put her hands on Veon’s chest, pushing him away slightly but he stood still, making it impossible for the girl to push him away.
“Why are you like this,” Sheloah mumbled to herself but Veon heard her. He put his forehead against hers and sighed.
“Aren’t you curious about how I feel,” Veon asked and this made Sheloah look at him. Veon’s confidence was overshadowed by fear in his eyes.
“What are you saying,” Sheloah asked and Veon continued speaking.
“You’re wondering why I act this way towards you? I was wondering, too. Ever since that dream, I’ve been looking at you differently. Ever since that dream, I’ve been having this unexplainable feeling.”
When Veon said this, he removed his forehead away from Sheloah’s and he looked at her seriously.
“Every time I saw you with Kreiss, even remembering the time when he kissed you before, it pisses me off,” he said and Sheloah’s heart started beating fast.
“What do you mean,” Sheloah asked and Veon continued speaking.
“I saw you with Kreiss again earlier and when he kissed you on the cheek, there was rage in me wanting to come out. I just wanna punch him hard on the face but I can’t do that,” Veon added then he looked at the gem around Sheloah’s neck.
“And he just had to give you that.” Veon scoffed. “So let me guess… he confessed to you and asked you to marry him after, huh,” he added and Sheloah shook her head.
“N-no!” Sheloah blushed when she remembered what Kreiss told her. “He told me that after this, he’d want me to be his girlfriend,” she added and Veon looked angry again.
“So what did you say?”
Sheloah looked at him, feeling irritated.
“Why does it even matter to you!? I—”
Veon did not let her finish.
His lips landed on hers, shutting her up.
