Army of True Salvation - Chapter 146:A Woman Crying
Tyler had killed two zombies in one shot using the sniper rifle when suddenly, they heard a feedback from the walkie-talkie.
“Throw the first grenade to my left side,” Geof said and Tyler and Dannie got surprised.
“Why?!” Dannie was baffled and Geof wasn’t able to answer her directly. He was too busy killing the zombies from his right side. They noticed that there were a lot of zombies at his left side, but they were quite far from Geof. Now they understood why he instructed them to throw a grenade.
“Do it,” Tyler said and Dannie looked at him with panic.
“Tyler, won’t we—”
“Dannie, trust your comrades. They know what they’re doing,” John told his daughter as Dannie slowly got a grenade from the pouch near her. She was showing how hesitant she was about the plan.
“Trust him! Like what your father said, we know what we’re doing. Just do what you’re told,” he said and Dannie looked at the grenade and held it tightly.
“What are you guys waiting for!? Throw it. NOW!” When Dannie heard Geof’s shout from the walkie-talkie, this gave her more pressure but she still did her job. She activated the grenade and threw it at Geof’s left side area.
Smoke was everywhere. All of them stopped shooting since they could not see where Geof is. Tyler did not expect this to happen. The impact was stronger than he thought it would be.
Did it him him?
The smoke was slowly disappearing. “Geof…” Dannie whispered his name out of concern when suddenly, they saw Geof running away from the zombies who were not affected by the grenade’s explosion.
“Geof, are you okay,” Tyler quickly asked through the walkie-talkie as they saw him running below. It was obvious that he was exhausted.
“Only half of the zombies were hit. Some are chasing me right now,” Geof answered and Dannie butted in.
“I’m sorry,” she apologized but Geof didn’t answer because he was too busy running away from the zombies.
Tyler, being the planner for today’s battle, acted quickly and responsibly to make sure that the plan is still going through smoothly.
“Geof, from the looks of it, you’re about to reach a tree,” he said and he received a feedback.
“Yes. What are you suggesting?”
Tyler observed the surroundings below before he gave Geof a sure answer. “Climb up the tree as high as possible. We will throw another one and I’ll make sure we’ll hit most of the zombies,” he ordered and Geof completely understood the impact of the plan.
After some time, they saw Geof climbing his way up the tree fast. There were some zombies who were trying to get his ankle but John quickly killed them with his sniper skills. His skill as a soldier really showed in these kinds of situations.
As Geof was climbing the tree, he suddenly stopped when he almost reached the top. Tyler suddenly got curious as to why he stopped halfway under a situation such as this.
‘Is there something wrong?’
“Why did he stop? How are we going to throw a grenade if—” John interrupted his daughter.
“Listen closely,” John said and everyone near the walkie-talkie went quiet. They heard the groans of the zombies but they heard something that was unusual to them.
They heard a woman crying, but they could not see where.
