Army of True Salvation - Chapter 151:Sh-Sheloah?
A strong wind suddenly blew, making Shannara loosen her grip on the tree’s trunk. “Ah!” She screamed briefly as she quickly embraced the trunk once more. She closed her eyes and began to call out again.
“Sheloah, what the hell! Just come out, please! I hope you can hear me!”
She sounded desperate. She made sure that her voice wasn’t loud enough so she could not attract zombies towards her area. She thought again of what to do to get Sheloah’s attention. Suddenly, she had an idea of breaking the window’s glass. She got a branch and slowly broke it free from the tree. She tightened her grip on it and prepared to throw it for her to break the window.
“Ah! Who’s there!?”
It was Sheloah’s voice. Shannara’s plan worked!
“Sheloah, are you there!? It’s me, Shannara!”
Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared through the window. Sheloah ran to the window, with her eyes opened wide. She was obviously surprised to see Shannara embracing a tree, sounding desperate.
Shannara suddenly became quiet. Sheloah is finally in front of her, safe and sound! She also looked like she just woke up.
“Wait,” Shannara spoke and Sheloah looked at her, curious. “Weren’t you kidnapped,” she asked and Sheloah nodded, slowly.
“Yes, why?”
“What do you mean, ‘yes, why!?’” Shannara sounded a bit exasperated. “We were worried sick about you and you look absolutely fine, waking up from your beauty nap!?”
“Ehehe…” Sheloah let out a nervous laugh as she scratched her head. “Turns out he was a good guy.”
“What the hell!? We were so worried sick about you! Why didn’t you attempt to escape?!” Shannara was almost shouting when she said this and this made Sheloah look at her with annoyance.
“Don’t say that I didn’t! I did attempt to escape from here! It’s just difficult to do so because of Kreiss!” Shannara raised a brow at her when she heard Sheloah say a name.
“You know the kidnapper’s name? Don’t tell me you’ve developed a Stockholm Syndrome!”
“I—” Sheloah suddenly blushed when she heard this. “I did NOT! Shut up, Shannara! You know full well I’m in love with Veon! I can’t develop feelings towards my kidnapper!”
Shannara was still embracing the tree’s trunk while shouting back at Sheloah. “Then why didn’t you attempt to escape now that Kreiss is gone!?”
Sheloah raised her brow at her. “He’s gone?” The girl opposite her rolled her eyes at her.
“Duh! You wouldn’t know since you were asleep, right,” she said and Sheloah looked at her, worriedly.
“Are you scared of heights?”
Shannara was taken aback. “I–… d-don’t change the subject! We came looking for you, now come out!”
Sheloah suddenly giggled, seeing Shannara in such situation. “Come down, silly! And I’ll open the door for you,” she said and Shannara squinted her eyes at her.
“Are you using your brain? I’m scared, can’t you see!?” Sheloah laughed at her again.
“Then why did you climb up the tree?” she was practically teasing Shannara at this point.
“The squad came here to get you, stupid! Of course I took this opportunity to look for you while Veon and that ‘Kreiss’ are doing some stupid challenge,” she said and Sheloah suddenly stopped laughing when she heard Veon’s name.
“He’s here?” Shannara rolled her eyes at her.
“Of course! The moment he knew you went missing, Veon wanted to look for you ASAP.” When Sheloah heard this, her face turned serious. “Dannie, Tyler, and Isobel came as well. But I don’t know where they are right now because Dannie suddenly walked out the moment he saw the kidnapper,” she added and this made Sheloah feel guilty.
“You guys came to see me. I’m sorry,” she said and Shannara rolled her eyes at her.
“Never mind. Let’s just get out of here fast. Help me come down, please,” she said and Sheloah laughed slightly.
“Okay, I’m co—”
“Sh-Sheloah?”
