Army of True Salvation - Chapter 152:Let's End This
“Sheloah?”
Shannara said her name once more but now there’s a hint of fear in the girl’s voice. Sheloah just shook her head, refusing to speak. Shannara felt helpless and afraid.
Shannara’s scared of heights and she didn’t know how to come down. Sheloah even looked scared, which made Shannara feel anxious.
“Shelo—”
Shannara was interrupted when suddenly, she saw Sheloah raise her hand, gesturing her to stop. Sheloah pointed something behind her and Shannara slowly looked back to see what it was.
From the branch behind her appeared a peculiar zombie. The zombie was standing on one branch and it was even quite large compared to the other zombies. It was also tall, like around 6 feet. The zombie had an arm which was even larger than its body. The zombie’s weight was being supported by how it clung to the trunk, making it look like the zombie possessed intelligence.
A part of the zombie’s neck kept opening and closing. The zombie had yellow eyes and there were green acid-like fluid coming out of its neck. The zombie was looking straight at Shannara, like she has become the zombie’s prey.
“Ah!”
Shannara screamed and because of her fear, she fell from the tree, making her fall hard on the ground.
“Shannara!”
Sheloah shouted and this made Shannara look at her from below. Suddenly, the zombie jumped down, walking slowly towards the girl who had fallen from the tree.
The zombie sounded different. The zombie’s neck were “clicking” each time it opened and closed. Because of Shannara’s fear, she only crawled backwards, avoiding the zombie in front of her. She was stopped in her tracks when she felt the concrete wall behind her.
The zombie approached her then it suddenly pulled her ankle. Shannara screamed once more as she struggled to get her gun from the pouch she had strapped on her waist. Once she got the gun, she quickly shot the zombie but there was no effect. Once the zombie got a hold of Shannara quickly, it got the gun from her and threw it away. This proved that the zombie DID possess intelligence.
“Sheloah, help me!”
Shannara sounded desperate as the zombie held her by the hair. The zombie threw Shannara, making her bump her back hard on the tree’s trunk. She heard a heavy thump on the ground and beside her, she saw Sheloah come from the second floor window, getting the attention of the zombie.
How are they going to escape? Both of them are powerless as of the moment and both of them fell, making their bodies ache in pain. Are the girls going to get killed? Where is Veon and the kidnapper? Haven’t they heard the commotion that was happening?
Shannara tried her best to stand up. The moment she stood up, she called the attention of the zombie, driving it away from Sheloah.
“I’m the one you want, dimwit!”
The zombie looked at Shannara, who’s now smirking at the enemy. This made Sheloah look at her with annoyance.
“What the hell, are you stupid?!”
“What a way to end my life… sacrifice,” Shannara whispered to herself.
Sheloah didn’t like what’s happening in front of her so she ran in front of Shannara, making the zombie hit her instead. She flew and hit the wall of the apartment, making Sheloah cough out blood.
“Sheloah!” Shannara ran to Sheloah, supporting her up. She then wiped the blood that came out of her mouth. “I didn’t ask for you to save me!” The moment she said this, Sheloah gave Shannara an annoyed smirk.
“I didn’t ask you to save me either,” she said and Shannara smiled at Sheloah, feeling thankful.
The both of them looked at the zombie in front of them. “So this is it,” Sheloah said as she picked up the gun of Shannara that was thrown away. “While we still can, let’s try to shake this zombie off our tracks,” she added and Shannara nodded at her.
Sheloah’s right. They have to do something while they still can. If they give up now, it would be the end of them.
“Let’s end this,” Shannara said and they both stood up. Sheloah decided to be the decoy as Shannara focused on shooting the zombie.
