Army of True Salvation - Chapter 154:Molotov Cocktail
“Sheloah!”
Kreiss shouted her name before Veon could. The two girls looked at the direction where the shout came from and relief flashed on their faces when they realized that it was the boys who came to the rescue.
“Kreiss!”
Sheloah shouted the kidnapper’s name, almost forgetting that Veon was around.
The two girls ran to the boys’ side, making the zombie confused on who to chase. The moment they arrived to their side, Sheloah froze when she saw Veon in front of her.
Veon was relieved when he finally saw Sheloah. He wanted to say a lot of things to her but he knew that those things would have to wait and that they would have to leave this place first.
But the thing that crossed his mind was why Sheloah looked so… safe. Like she was unharmed despite being kidnapped.
And why’s their “familiarity” between the two?
“Hey, lookout!”
Veon was suddenly back in his senses when he heard Shannara’s warning. The four of them successfully dodged the zombie’s humongous arm.
They ran to another direction, hiding behind the house and started assessing the situation so they could plan on what they would do for their attack and escape.
Sheloah took a peek and Veon couldn’t help but steal glances on her. Now that Sheloah’s near him, he couldn’t understand why his heart started beating uncontrollably.
‘It’s because I’m concerned, right?’
Kreiss took a peek, too, making Sheloah bump the back of her head on Kreiss’ hard chest, also making her slightly surprised.
“We have to think of something… and fast,” the kidnapper said and Sheloah just looked at him, feeling quite uncomfortable with her being too close to him.
Sheloah coughed. “What’s the plan then,” she asked, getting the attention of the others.
“Bullets aren’t effective against the big monster. How about the katana,” Sheloah said and she looked at Kreiss, asking for his opinion.
“Let’s not risk it. The blade might break. We have to think of another alternative. We’re facing a tank here,” Kreiss said and the three went silent for a while, thinking of a possible plan to land a successful attack on the zombie.
The tank found them and suddenly attacked the group with his humongous arm. Kreiss and Veon instinctively protected the girls with them. Kreiss embraced Sheloah, and Veon embraced Shannara. The moment the zombie drew his arm back, the four ran away and started coming up with a plan.
“What now,” Veon asked when suddenly, Kreiss spoke.
“I have a plan.” The moment Kreiss spoke, everyone looked at him as they ran. “We have to split up into pairs,” he added and when he said this, everyone looked at him with disbelief.
“What do you mean? Won’t that make it risky,” Sheloah asked and Shannara spoke.
“I think I could see his point. One would be the bait for the meantime and while the other pair distracts the zombies, the other team would think of a plan of attack,” she said and Kreiss nodded at her.
The four of them stopped behind a tree, hiding from the zombie to catch their breaths then they started speaking again.
“So split into two parties, right? The first party would be the bait, and the other would make up a plan,” Veon summarized and Kreiss nodded.
“Are you guys familiar with molotov cocktails,” Kreiss asked and everyone looked at him.
Sheloah and Veon were familiar about it, except for Shannara. The two played video games so Sheloah explained what a molotov cocktail is to Shannara.
“A molotov cocktail is like a bomb, but you can create one with just simple materials. But it can get dangerous to use,” Sheloah said and Shannara nodded, but still, she got curious as to how to create one.
“We need a bottle that’s flammable. One that’s glass is best to use to add more hits to the zombie. Inside the bottle would be the gas oil and motorcycle oil. We need a cloth to act as a wick as well,” Kreiss said and Sheloah suddenly spoke as she looked at Kreiss.
“I think you know where the materials are so it’s best if you and your partner would look for it,” she said and Kreiss nodded.
“We need a pair to distract the zombie while I look for the materials,” Kreiss said and when the zombie saw the four again, he attacked with his arm and Kreiss took Sheloah in his arms for protection since Sheloah was closer to him.
