Army of True Salvation - Chapter 163:They Know Each Other?
Dean suddenly called their attention. “Guys, sorry to break your moment but Dannie’s father instructed me to call all of you for a gathering. Dannie, Isobel, and Tyler are already waiting in the room,” he said and the three, Sheloah, Veon, and Shannara nodded. Obviously, Kreiss would also come with them.
“Thank you,” Sheloah said but they were stopped again by Dean then said something he almost forgot to tell them.
“Oh, right. Geof and some of his groupmates are with us,” he said and the three were surprised. They didn’t expect that they will meet again. “He’s also upstairs, waiting for you guys. Other details will be told later,” Dean said finally and the three nodded then proceeded to the second floor.
They arrived in front of the lobby and Kreiss suddenly stopped, making Sheloah, Veon and Shannara look at him.
“What’s the problem,” Veon asked and Kreiss sighed, then gave them a faint smile.
“I’m dead.”
When he said this, Shannara and Sheloah raised a brow at him, confused.
“What are you saying,” Sheloah asked and Kreiss just shook his head.
“You’ll see later.” He let out a sarcastic smile then the three looked at each other, ignoring what Kreiss said.
Veon held the doorknob. The moment the door was opened, they saw the others were already seated on the couch. John, Dannie’s father, was in the middle and Dannie was beside her. In front of them was Isobel, Tyler, and Geof, seated on another couch.
Sheloah waved her hand, greeting them awkwardly. “Hello. Sorry for making you worry—”
Suddenly, she was interrupted when John rushed to Kreiss, giving him a strong punch on the face.
Everyone was surprised. The ones who were seated on the couch stood up abruptly. Kreiss coughed out blood as well due to the impact of John’s punch.
Sheloah, Veon, and Shannara, who were beside the two, were completely taken aback. They were beside Kreiss and witnessing him receiving a punch from John really doubled their eye’s size!
John pulled Kreiss by the shirt. “Explain your s***, Kreiss! What the hell are you thinking!?” He gave Kreiss another punch, making the boy cough out blood again.
Dannie suddenly rushed to her father then held him by the arm. “Dad, stop! One punch is enough. You don’t have to give [1]kuya another,” she said and everyone was more surprised when they heard her call him “kuya” protectively.
They know each other?
John was obviously angered and none of them, other than Kreiss and Dannie, knew why John was angry. This made the others wonder. They never knew if Dannie really had a sibling or not.
John looked at his daughter. “Dannie, I taught you not to meddle in other people’s business,” he said but Dannie ignored him. She got a handkerchief from her pocket then she proceeded wiping Kreiss’ face.
“I know, but one punch is enough. You don’t have to give him another,” Dannie explained, justifying her actions, protecting Kreiss at the same time. “I’m angry at kuya and I understand why you’re angry but since we’re having a zombie apocalypse now, the three of us are the only family left. We have to talk this through,” she added and everyone in the room fixed their eyes on the three.
Sheloah, Veon and Shannara found this awkward since the three of them are closer to the scene so the three of them stepped back, giving the fighting family some space.
Kreiss looked at the floor, embarrassed and Dannie just proceeded in wiping his face, and John looked at them, his eyes warming up.
“Kuya, don’t think I’ve completely warmed up to you. You still have a lot of explaining to do,” Dannie said and Kreiss just stayed quiet, looking at them with indifferent eyes. Dannie sighed, then she sat on the couch, trying to calm herself.
The others couldn’t speak at all. They were called for a gathering then suddenly a quarrel happened in front of them. They were really in an awkward position since they did not expect to be witnessing a fight between family members.
