Army of True Salvation - Chapter 165:Let This Issue Go
“Honestly, I want to know what happened between Kreiss and Sheloah,” Geof said, making everyone look at him. “I mean… they brought out the topic about him and I couldn’t focus on the plan,” he added and Isobel nodded enthusiastically, as if asking for a juicy gossip.
“I agree with Geof. I have questions inside my head,” Isobel said as she showed them her hand, enumerating her questions. “Why Kreiss loves Sheloah, why did he kidnap Sheloah, what was his purpose, and why he’s provoking Veon,” she added and Sheloah shot her a look.
‘Are they not going to let this issue go?’
“Honestly, I don’t know the answers to your questions,” Sheloah said then continued speaking. “Kreiss just confessed his feelings to me. I asked why he kidnapped me but he told me he wanted to prove something and that it was a secret.” Sheloah tried her best to explain and Isobel just nodded at her, slightly unconvinced.
“How about the part of Kreiss provoking Veon,” Tyler asked and everyone looked at Veon.
“I’m just irritated. People keep asking why I love Sheloah. Even him,” he answered in all honesty and Tyler just acknowledged his answer.
“Do you love her though?”
The moment Geof said this, Veon gave him a glare. He noticed that he was irritated so Geof went silent, not probing the question. Veon was making it clear that no one should dare ask him that question again.
“I don’t know what Kreiss’ motive was. I talked to him and the thing is, we both understood each other,” Shannara mumbled, as if talking to herself. The others wanted to ask, but they left it as is, knowing how moody Shannara is at the moment.
Veon sighed. “I’m tired,” he said then he stood up. “Maybe we have to rest first. I want some sleep,” he said then he proceeded to the room where he stayed with Sheloah and her family.
Isobel then spoke. “Tyler, Geof, and I will just be in the garden,” she said then she quickly left with them, leaving Sheloah alone.
Obviously, everyone wanted to get out of that awkward situation.
Sheloah sighed as she was now left alone in the hallway. She pondered on what happened and this saddened her more. Shannara and Veon were acting cold. Isobel, Tyler, and Geof avoided Sheloah, finding it awkward to talk to her.
It was all because of Kreiss.
