Army of True Salvation - Chapter 170:Veon... Please!
“Veon!”
Veon couldn’t breathe. His vision was black but he knew that he was crying. He felt his hands moving, but he just couldn’t open his eyes. His body felt hot, too… and the boy felt desperate to move.
‘What happened?’
“Veon, please!”
“She…loah…”
Veon mumbled the girl’s name as he struggled to move. He felt that someone was moving his body but he just couldn’t open his eyes. He felt annoyed to have felt paralyzed as of the moment.
“Veon… Please! What’s wrong?!”
He kept hearing Sheloah’s voice as he tried to force his hands to move. He was still crying and right now, he was desperate to shout—to scream.
He wanted out.
“Please, wake up!”
The moment Sheloah said this, Veon’s body jolted up and he coughed uncontrollably. He took a deep breath and choked on his own saliva. His eyes felt tired because of excessive crying. He remembered what was happening so he suddenly shouted the moment his eyes opened.
“Sheloah!”
“I’m here!”
Sheloah’s figure came into vision when Veon’s eyes finally adjusted. He suddenly realized that he was just having a bad dream. Seeing Sheloah in front of him, made him sigh in relief.
“Veon, what happened? I just came in after having dinner with my family downstairs when suddenly, you started tossing and turning in your sleep. You were also shouting and crying. You made me worry!”
‘A dream… it was a dream!”
“Veon, why—”
Sheloah was interrupted when suddenly, she was embraced by Veon tightly.
“Don’t leave me, Sheloah,” he said as he cried on her shoulder.
His heart started beating uncontrollably as he was in fear of losing her someday and thinking about this, broke Veon’s heart.
Sheloah held Veon’s back trying to calm him. “Veon, what happened? Was it a dream?” Veon did not respond.
Sheloah was right in front of her. She’s okay and is perfectly safe. It was all just a dream… it was just a dream but it felt so real.
Veon realized that he was never like this towards any a girl. He realized how important Sheloah is in his life and that he really did not want to lose her. He wanted her to be beside him all of the time. He wouldn’t want to let her go. If ever he lost her, he would feel desperate to have her back.
Veon fell back on the bed, still embracing Sheloah. This made the girl shriek, making Veon hug her tightly.
“Stay here,” he said then he realized that his face was near hers but he had no intentions of pulling away. Sheloah looked at him worriedly, her face red at the same time.
“Don’t leave me… ever,” he said and there was fear etched in his voice.
“Veon…” Sheloah just said his name as she carefully touched Veon’s cheek. “I won’t,” she said and upon hearing the girl’s assurance, Veon’s heart doubled its pace then he sighed, feeling foreign to the feeling he’s experiencing now.
Not knowing what to do with the surge of emotions he’s feeling at the moment, he unknowingly kissed Sheloah’s forehead, making the girl’s eyes double in size. Because of embarrassment, Sheloah hid her face on Veon’s chest but Veon didn’t mind it and allowed her to do so.
“I won’t let you go, Sheloah,” he said then he closed his eyes, about to sleep. He left Sheloah wide awake… (and in trouble in case her family walked in to this scene.)
Now that Sheloah was beside him, Veon decided not to let her go. He only felt this way towards her. He wanted her to stay by his side at all times. He wanted to keep Sheloah to himself.
Only now that he realized that he actually fell deeply in love with the girl whom he kept denying his feelings to.
