Army of True Salvation - Chapter 173:A Long Way to Go
The others saw them having such a fun conversation and this surprised them. A while ago, they were just silent and awkward with each other and now they’re conversing as if nothing happened?
Isobel folded her arms. “It’s a good thing the two of you made up,” she said then she pointed at Shannara accusingly. “She was sobbing silently in our room!”
Shannara suddenly became embarrassed. “I—I did not!”
Tyler laughed. “Whatever. You were so paranoid you kept me, Geof, and Isobel up, asking questions on how to apologize.”
Geof chimed in. “Tell me about it.”
Sheloah looked at Shannara. “You’re a softie,” she teased then Shannara rolled her eyes at them.
“Now you’re ganging up on me, huh!?”
Everyone was laughing out loud and when Veon came, Shannara looked at him teasingly.
“I didn’t expect you to be sweet, Veon,” she said and this made everyone curious except for Sheloah, whose eyes are now opened wide.
“What?”
Veon did not know what Shannara was talking about so Sheloah just covered Shannara’s mouth before she spouts other ‘nonsense’, making others pry in to their ‘private’ moment.
“She’s making up her own issues. Don’t mind her,” Sheloah said then gave her a glare, warning Shannara. “I told you to zip it,” she whispered to her then released her. Shannara gave her a peace sign, teasing her.
Geof coughed. “Okay, kidding aside, Sheloah, are you aware of the plans,” he asked then Sheloah shook her head, indicating that she’s not aware. “Tyler will tell the details since everyone who plays a vital role is now here,” he added then everyone went quiet to listen to Tyler.
“Next, we’re going to Pampanga. We are going to get our last set of resources since we’re about to consume what we have now. We only have resources that will last for a day and a half. We would arrive Manila soon from there,” Tyler said and they all nodded.
“When are we leaving,” Sheloah asked then it was now Geof’s turn to speak.
“Tomorrow. We would have a whole day training today to make our own strategy since the group added new members from my group,” he said and Tyler continued explaining the plan.
“Tito John has a stock of bullets and grenades. He has some guns, too. We are all going to examine and learn more from him. Parents would be joining, too,” Tyler added then Isobel suddenly spoke.
“Sir Erick made some bayonets for those who will use the AK-47. They would also need a sniper team to protect the supports in attacking new species of zombies,” she said then this made Sheloah speak.
“There was a zombie that resembled the witch from the game Left4Dead,” he said then Shannara and Veon got surprised.
“When we were rescuing Sheloah, there was also a zombie that was big. Like the tank,” she said then the others who heard this sighed in concern.
“But with this particular tank, there’s one distinctive feature. His neck was opening and closing from time to time, with acid coming out of it,” Veon said then this made everyone show a disgusted expression.
“Disgusting,” Tyler commented then Geof spoke.
“How did you kill it,” he asked then Veon answered him.
“Kreiss suggested using a molotov cocktail, then blinding the zombie, then beheading the zombie with the use of the katana,” he said then this gave Tyler a eureka moment.
“That sounds rather effective! So Kreiss is also an intellectual,” he said then Shannara, Sheloah, and Veon nodded, agreeing to his comment.
“We have to make molotov cocktails just in case we encounter such things again. It would also be a good alternative for the grenade,” Shannara said then everyone agreed to her suggestion.
Isobel furrowed her brows. “I have concerns once we reach NLEX,” she said, making everyone look at her. “Knowing that the highway is full of cars, we might not drive and we may travel on foot. Due to the outbreak, a car crash may have happened there,” she added and there was a change of expression on Veon’s face, making him quiet as everyone spoke.
“Then, how’s that? If we walk by foot, it might take us more than an hour,” Tyler commented then he sighed heavily.
“We don’t know ourselves,” Geof interrupted and eyes were on him now. “Tito John said that he looked over this. Since Kreiss came and all, he still hasn’t told us that plan. He was supposed to tell us that yesterday,” he said then everyone was now deep in their thoughts.
“But we haven’t seen them since last night. It seemed that they didn’t even leave their room a while ago,” Isobel said then Tyler spoke.
“Let’s wait for them. This is the gist of the plan for the meantime. We will know other parts of the plan from Tito John soon,” he said then everyone nodded, leaving them with no choice but to wait for further announcements.
They still have a long way to go.
