Army of True Salvation - Chapter 179:Downfall
Sheloah talked to Veon about training with the medics when suddenly, someone called her.
“Princess, care to spar,” Kreiss asked, making the two look at him. He was with Geof and the two of them held their katanas. Kreiss was holding Sheloah’s.
After not seeing Kreiss since last night, Sheloah found it a bit awkward, but it was good that Geof was around.
“Spar? The three of us against each other,” Sheloah asked as Kreiss gave the girl her katana.
“You and Kreiss. I’ve been sparring with Kreiss a while ago and it’s my time to rest. Apparently, he still has some energy left,” Geof said and Kreiss suddenly spoke.
“You and me, princess. One on one,” he said and Sheloah laughed slightly, then looked at Veon.
“I’ll be heading off with them, then,” she said then the boy nodded, smiled at her, then left to go with the other attackers being trained by Shannara.
Sheloah looked at Kreiss again. “I’m not that good, Kreiss. So teach me a thing or two,” she requested then she smiled, feeling excited. “You told me you’ve been training since you were young, so I’m expectant to really learn something from you.”
Kreiss felt a bit embarrassed. “Fine. Then maybe sparring with Sheloah might not be effective since Geof and I learned the basics. I’ll teach you the basics first,” the boy said then Sheloah nodded enthusiastically.
“Then what are we waiting for,” she said feeling a bit impatient.
The two boys laughed at her then three of them walked to an empty space where the three of them could train.
“First, since we use katanas, we should learn more about the art from Kenjutsu,” Kreiss started and Sheloah listened attentively as Geof sat on the side, watching them.
“There are different art forms, Iajutsu for combat of how to draw the sword, Kendo for Japanese fencing, and Iaido for the art of drawing the sword,” he further explained and Geof chimed in.
“In this case, learning Kenjutsu is effective. Training with different kinds of swords in terms of combats and specifically, we have to learn something that specializes our katanas,” Geof added then Kreiss did a stance.
“Let’s begin. Follow my lead,” he said and Sheloah followed the teacher in front of him.
Now Sheloah found this interesting. She wanted to know more on how to utilize her knowledge in using the katana and with Kreiss and Geof’s help, they would make it easier for her to fight.
After teaching some stances, they decided to have a shift to a more serious training.
“We will teach you on how to strike attack and how to counter an attack if needed. Making your opponent stumble is more effective since we’re facing zombies, not real people. It would delay the zombies from their movement once you immobilize them,” Kreiss said, then Sheloah nodded in anticipation. She really found her lessons today very exciting!

“Veon!”
Shannara shouted his name and this made the teenager look back.
“What’s up,” he said then Shannara spoke.
“Tito John gave me extra bullets for training. These bullets are not actually effective and they are just fit for training. Like a toy,” she said then Veon got it from her then nodded.
“Thanks, Shan,” he said then he reloaded his guns with the bullets he got from her.
“I also have news,” Shannara said then Veon looked at her. “There’s a sniper team, right? Ashley already joined!”
This surprised Veon. That laid-back person actually joined?
“So he got the Barrett M82 that he wanted,” Veon asked and Shannara nodded.
“Yup! I also saw it and asked about it. They said that in one shot, multiple zombies would get shot,” the girl said as she made targets on the tree in front of them for shooting. “The sniper team is said to have three people. Tito John and Ashley are one of them, so I wonder who’s the other,” she added and this made Veon wonder.
“Maybe it would be Dannie. I heard Tito John was training her before,” he said and Shannara looked at him.
“Maybe so. She has hidden potentials!”
The two started training. Veon looked at their surroundings and noticed that everyone was immersed in doing their tasks during their training session.
All of a sudden, Veon remembered what he heard from Sir Erick.
Hope keeps them going but if they hope too much, it will end up disappointing them and hope may be the reason of their downfall.
