Army of True Salvation - Chapter 183:Yes, You Stink
Sheloah sighed but she was surprised when her mother approached her then spoke.
“I’ll protect you this time,” her mother said then Sheloah smiled at her.
“It’s okay, mom. This time, I have to protect you,” the girl said then her mother’s smile disappeared when she noticed a scar on her daughter’s face.
“I felt that I neglected you too much,” she mumbled to herself as she touched her daughter’s scar.
Sheloah shook her head. “Mom, I’m okay, really,” the girl said, her mom still showing disappointment on her face.
To be honest, her mom was angry with Kreiss, especially with herself for allowing such things to happen to her daughter. She was angry, knowing that she was powerless to do anything about it. Sheloah knew that her mother was angry when she saw her talk to Kreiss in private about kidnapping her daughter. Kreiss apologized to Sheloah’s mother a lot of times but even then, Sheloah’s mother still showed coldness in her eyes.
Kreiss looked at Sheloah and when their eyes met, he smiled then waved at her. Sheloah greeted him, too, and her mother just glared at the boy. Kreiss greeted her too, but she just ignored him, making Sheloah laugh a bit.
Sheloah looked at Veon from time to time. His face was blank. He sighed and Sheloah really had the urge to ask what his dream was about to have bothered him this much.
Sheloah stopped her thoughts when Jun suddenly spoke. “Erick and I have a plan,” he said and everyone looked at them.
“We need the strike team for this to start,” Erick said then the three, Sheloah, Kreiss, and Geof looked at him. “Noticed how we are bathed in blood,” he added, making the others look at him carefully. Once they noticed, they gave him a look of disgust.
“Yes, you stink,” Isobel said and this made the others laugh silently.
Erick ignored the joke. “Here’s the thing. You guys know the Walking Dead, right? We tried one method from that movie,” he said then Shannara suddenly spoke.
“You bathed yourselves in the intestines and blood of the dead zombies to make you seem and smell… dead?”
Erick nodded to answer the girl’s question.
“Gross!”
“So Sir Erick what you mean is that you won’t get noticed and you have to kill the zombie who noticed you but when you kill those zombies, those who didn’t notice must not notice that you’re killing the zombies who noticed,” Tyler said and everyone furrowed their brows when he said the word “notice” many times, making what he said confusing to understand.
It seemed that only Erick understood him.
“That’s the gist of it,” he said then he continued explaining. “But you guys won’t like it though, but we have no choice. Even Sir Jun and I almost vomited when we tried it. We have to bathe in it again to strengthen smelling ‘dead’,” he added then the teenagers let out a sour face.
“Anyway, here’s the plan. The strike team will kill three zombies. They will drag those zombies here and we will bathe in their blood and intestines,” Jun said and they almost vomited when he said the plan.
“We… don’t have much of a choice, do we,” Sheloah said then Geof and Kreiss sighed.
The three of them found three zombies near them then they approached the zombies quietly. The three hid behind a car when they made sure that there were three zombies near them.
“Princess, you attack first. You’re quicker than us and you can kill one immediately. Once you distract the two, Geof and I will handle the rest,” Kreiss said then the girl squinted her eyes at them.
“You’re using me as bait?”
Kreiss scoffed. “You don’t trust us, princess? We’ll kill the other two, don’t worry,” he said then Geof nodded, reassuring Sheloah.
“Fine. You better be,” the girl said then she climbed up the car then drew her katana.
Sheloah jumped, getting the attention of the three zombies. She killed the one near her in one slash of its head and the blood splattered on her. The two boys saw that the two zombies had their eyes on Sheloah so the two quickly killed the zombies.
The three of them dragged the zombies to where the others are.
“Can we get this over with,” Tyler said then Jun spoke.
“Cut the zombie’s body then get the intestines. Bathe yourselves in blood, too,” he said then Sheloah, Kreiss, and Geof opened the zombies’ body then all of them bathed themselves in their intestines and blood.
Knowing that Sheloah has fear of blood, she vomited at the other side after she bathed herself in blood. Kreiss, who was beside her, patted her back, comforting her.
“Okay, guys… to top it all off, let’s do a group hug,” Jun said then everyone gathered but they were disgusted at the same time.
“Do we have to? I might vomit again,” Sheloah said but she was ignored when everyone did a group hug and all of them exclaimed in disgust.
Damn this rotten smell…
They all pulled away from the group hug. “Let’s see if we can pull this off,” Sheloah’s mother said then they all started walking together slowly.
All of them were scared when they saw that the zombies were looking at them, but were doing nothing. Luckily, they didn’t notice that they are humans.
Kreiss approached Sheloah then whispered. “Are you okay,” he asked and Sheloah felt warm to have felt Kreiss worry for her.
“Yes, thank you,” she said then Tyler suddenly mumbled, but It was enough for the others to hear.
“Can’t we walk faster?”
“No. But if you want to feed yourself to the others, why not,” Erick joked then Tyler just sighed. “Don’t worry. We can do this. When it gets rough, we can do the emergency plan which is to attack. The sniper team will back us up,” he added then everyone continued walking onwards.
