Army of True Salvation - Chapter 196:Change Plans
Sheloah stopped crying and looked at the comrades with them. No one came anymore and they realized that they have to make do with their current population.
This is still halfway of their plan. Maybe some would disappear later…
Erick stood up after he assessed their situation.
“We are the only ones left… so we’ll do our best to protect each other,” he said and everyone nodded, feeling sad that a lot had died and turned into zombies.
“We need to change the plan,” John said and Erick nodded.
“Plan B. Groups 1, 2, 3, and 4 will stick together. Groups 5, 6, and 7 will stay together. Groups 1 to 4, you take the first route going to the meeting place. Groups 5 to 7, the third route going to the meeting place. Sniper team and strike team will remain together and will take the lead in the second, middle route,” Erick summarized and everyone stood still, waiting for Erick’s signal.
The strike and sniper team should arrive at their meeting place first since they would be the ones protecting the other groups. They also need to prioritize protecting the pilot.
“Are we good to go,” John asked Erick and their leader sighed.
“Let’s wait for a minute before we leave,” he said and everyone went quiet. “We may never know, some might come, still alive.”
Everyone looked at the chaotic scene in front of them, knowing that everyone in front of them were already zombies.
They knew this, yet they still hoped that someone may come…
A minute had passed and Erick shook his head, feeling depressed.
“Let’s go. Care to say a few words before we head out?”
Everyone looked at each other when suddenly, Jun spoke.
“I agree. Let’s do our best to survive. Good luck and keep safe,” John added and everyone went down the truck, going to their specific routes towards their meeting place.
There were cars on their path so what they did was climb and get down to continue running.
The strike team is high on alert in order for them to protect the pilot. If he dies here… they will all die.
Kreiss approached Sheloah and talked to her.
“Be careful, princess… okay?”
Sheloah smiled at him as she held her katana tight. “You don’t have to worry,” she said and this made Kreiss smile at her genuinely.
A lot from their group died and they thought that there will be some that may disappear as they went on with their plan. This made them worry, but deep down, they had to accept what’s happening.
The world is indeed cruel despite it being a wonderful place to live in. There will always be an endless cycle of cause and effect.
