Army of True Salvation - Chapter 34:That's Weird
They went everywhere around the rooftop just to get what they needed for the plan. They got resources that they would need in case of emergencies such as grenades, bullets, and first aid kits. They all went back to their meeting place and had checked all of the things they needed. All were already complete.
They all went in front of the door but they had not opened it yet. Sheloah looked at Dean and Ace.
“You will be the ones to watch over the class for the meantime. If something arises, I give you the permission to lead them,” Sheloah said and they nodded. Veon gave Ace and Dean a gun.
Sheloah’s uncle held the doorknob and he opened the door. They all went outside and closed it. They slowly walked down the stairs, with Isobel at the middle for them to protect her.
“Gosh… this makes me nervous,” Isobel commented but they just ignored her.
When they were already one floor down, Isobel screamed as they saw a zombie appear. Josh acted quickly and hit the zombie hard, leading to its death. But when Isobel shouted, there were already zombies coming their way.
Sheloah glared at her best friend. “Be quiet!” Isobel did a peace sign.
They all ran down to attack the zombies near them and even though they had put on a silencer on their guns, they still attracted quite a number of zombies.
They were already near the gate towards the school’s computer room but they noticed that Sir Jim slowed down in his attacks. This made Sheloah wonder.
‘Why now?’
“Sir Jim,” I called his attention but he did not answer. Sheloah approached him and observed him properly. She tapped his shoulder. “Sir, what’s wrong?” She finally got his attention.
“N-nothing,” he stuttered. “Let’s make it fast. There are a lot of zombies here,” he said as he started attacking zombies once more.
‘That’s weird.’
Is he hiding something?
Sheloah just shook her doubts and thought that it was probably nothing to think about. She continued her focus on attacking the zombies.
Josh and Tyler were attacking zombies fast as sweat started to drench their back. For Sir Erick and Sheloah’s uncle, they can use the gun really well for they aim their targets accurately.
Sheloah looked back and noticed that there was already a zombie waiting for her. She aimed at her target and shot it straight on the head. She saw another one and dodged its attack. She kicked the zombie, making it stumble on the floor before she shot the zombie on the head two times, leading to its death.
Veon was also good in attacking his targets well. Sheloah started to read his strategy as she watched him battle them. Veon would shoot zombies that were far away on their leg, making them limp, and then he would focus doing head shots on the ones near him before killing off the limp zombies.
There were no longer too much zombies so they prioritized escaping rather than wiping the area clean. They all ran towards the playground where they left the service car. This made Sheloah think that the group had done a lot of trips back and forth just to bring the resources they got from SM.
The moment they reached their respective cars, the drivers started their engine and drove away from school. Veon said the directions to Kenneth and he tried his best to speed up the service car. Sheloah’s uncle and the group followed after them.
While they were going towards Veon’s house, the three people at the back, Sheloah, Josh, and Tyler opened the door of the service car and started shooting zombies near them.
It took them five minutes to reach the house and once they parked, they all left the vehicles and started shooting the zombies near Veon’s house. It had already been the second day yet the contamination had spread quickly.
“Veon, hurry up!” Sheloah shouted as Veon ran towards the garage.
Practically, all of them were attacking zombies as they waited for Veon. They were in Veon’s house’s front yard.
Sir Jim approached Sheloah as he was shooting zombies. “Sheloah, your uncle and I talked about this a while ago. Once Veon got his car, we leave the service car behind. It’s of no use anymore,” he said and Sheloah did not say a word. They were right.
“Okay. Veon will drive his car later and Kenneth will be at the passenger’s seat. Josh, Tyler and I would be attacking the zombies left and right so there won’t be zombies following us. It can slightly clear the way, too,” Sheloah added and Sir Jim sighed.
“What if something happens to you, Tyler, and Josh,” he asked but Sheloah just ignored him as she concentrated into killing the zombies around them.
“No choice. Veon’s car is a pick up. We would be staying at the back to attack zombies,” she answered briefly and Sir Jim nodded at him.
“Fine. I’ll tell your uncle,” Sir Jim said as he ran past Sir Erick to tell Sheloah’s uncle what his niece had said.
