Army of True Salvation - Chapter 35:Exciting
While they were fighting off zombies, Edward got scratched. Sir Erick supported him as they both ran behind the car, with Sheloah’s uncle protecting the both of them. Isobel quickly ran to treat Edward. It was a good thing that it was just a scratch.
“Veon, what’s taking you so long,” Sheloah whispered to herself as she kept shooting zombies.
She started to worry about Veon.
Is he safe?
Every second was making her nervous. They were waiting for Veon for almost 5 minutes and in a zombie apocalypse, this would already be considered a long wait.
They waited for another minute then they heard a vehicle revving and it went near them. It was a red pick up car and Veon bumped all of the zombies along its way.
“To those who will come with me, get in. I’ll follow the leading car going to Victory Liner,” Veon said quickly and they all ran towards their assigned vehicle and group.
Sheloah’s uncle, Sir Jim, Sir Erick, Isobel, and Edward entered the other vehicle while Kenneth sat beside Veon and Josh, Tyler, and Sheloah climbed on the back of the pick up car.
The groups already drove towards Victory Liner and left the service car in front of Veon’s house. Veon’s car was following behind Sheloah’s uncle’s vehicle. While they were driving towards Victory Liner, there were zombies chasing them.
“This is a problem,” Tyler commented as Sheloah started shooting zombies who were chasing them. They even noticed that the zombies who were chasing them were faster than the regular zombies that they’ve encountered.
Sheloah looked at Tyler and Josh. “Less talk, more attack,” she said and the two boys smiled at her.
While Sheloah was shooting zombies, Tyler and Josh attacked the zombies who were attempting to climb Veon’s car. They were nervous but at the same time, found this situation a bit…
Exciting.
There were no longer much zombies that were chasing them and Tyler and Josh did a high five. Sheloah sat down and let out a sigh of relief.
They thought everything seemed safe, but no. They were suddenly surprised when they saw a group of zombies, running fast towards them.
“Shit!” Tyler and Josh both exclaimed. Sheloah’s eyes grew big as she started panicking on how to stop and attack the group of zombies.
“Veon, drive faster!” Sheloah opened a bag behind Josh.
“Why,” Veon asked loudly, enough for all of them to hear.
The two boys looked at Sheloah. “What are you planning to do,” Josh asked but she didn’t answer.
“Hang on and cover your ears,” she just said and Sheloah struggled to stand up, hanging on the side of the pick up car. They saw a grenade on her free hand and their eyes grew wide.
“You plan to attack them with that,” Tyler asked and Sheloah nodded.
“No choice! They’re too many,” Sheloah said as she remembered what her uncle had said on how to use a grenade.
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and counted to three seconds before she exhaled. She twisted the pin, pulled it, then threw it towards the big group of zombies. She took cover in the middle of Josh and Tyler and the two boys hugged her for protection.
BOOM!
The grenade exploded and their surroundings started to become dusty. There were even small pebbles that went inside their area and the car moved left and right. Veon seemed surprised by what Sheloah had done as he didn’t expect it.
They opened their eyes slowly and they saw that the group of zombies were no longer following them. Josh, Tyler and Sheloah grinned as they gave each other a high five.
“Yes!”
“Sheloah! You didn’t even brief me as to what you’d do! You almost ruined my car!” The three friends at the back laughed when Veon shouted.
“Sorry,” Sheloah said and Veon just shook his head. Tyler, Josh, and Sheloah now sat comfortably while they were waiting for them to arrive at Victory Liner.
While they were waiting for them to reach the location, the three of them were doing final checks on the resources they had with them to see if they could still have some left on their way back to school. They noticed that they had consumed quite a number of bullets and from now on, they would have to save it until they had reached school.
Finally, they arrived at Victory Liner and they parked the car at the side. They all went out from their vehicles and hid behind it. They would still have to plan on how to get the two buses in front.
They all took a peek and noticed that there were also quite a lot zombies in Victory liner. It was indeed a nerve-wracking situation for them.
