Army of True Salvation - Chapter 54:Sheloah, Stop
“Who are you,” Veon asked coldly and the man laughed at him.
He was also wearing his school uniform, but it wasn’t the same as Sheloah’s school uniform. This now made them think that this boy came from a school here in Pangasinan.
“You guys are having so much drama,” he said and Sheloah glared at him, angry at what he had said.
“Who are you to tell us that,” she said in a cold voice but the man just smirked at her. Sheloah’s mother held her daughter’s arm to stop her.
“Sheloah, enough,” her mother said but because of Sheloah’s rage, she ignored her mother.
“Were you the one who shouted, asking who killed your comrade,” the boy asked but they didn’t answer him. He laughed once more before he spoke again.
“I’ll answer your question,” he said and he started speaking again. “I was the one who—”
Sheloah did not let him finish. She suddenly got Veon’s gun and aimed it at the man who spoke. She shot him two times on the chest like how Ace was shot. Everyone was surprised by what she did. The boy fell on the ground, dead. Sheloah was suddenly slapped by her mother.
“Sheloah! I know that you’re angry and that no one’s watching the things you do in a zombie apocalypse but still what you did is wrong! Killing for revenge is not right!”
Sheloah looked at her mother. She never wanted to do it, but she was forced to do it. Anger was indeed a scary thing once it controls your body.
Sheloah’s uncle approached her and scolded her as well. “You’re crazy,” he said as he aggressively stole Veon’s gun from her hand. “What you did was unnecessary,” he added and Sheloah looked at her uncle.
“But he killed Ace,” Sheloah reasoned and Sheloah was being glared at by her mother again, urging her to stop and that her reasons were unacceptable.
“Stupid! If we weren’t in a zombie apocalypse, you would’ve been arrested!” Isobel had commented about Sheloah’s unjustifiable action and Sheloah avoided her gaze.
“What Sheloah did was okay! A person had killed Ace!”
“It was okay that he died! Sheloah did it for revenge!”
“What Sheloah’s mother said was right. Even though that the situation is like this, what she did was not right.”
“As a parent, what her mother said was correct. But at the situation right now, it’s really uncontrollable, especially that they’re children and they somewhat act immaturely.”
Their classmates and the parents said their comments regarding on what had happened. Both sides had their positive and negative sides. But when it came to morality, what Sheloah did was indeed wrong.
They were fully aware that any form of killing was a sin even if it was a form of revenge. But when it came to self-defense, it was acceptable.
Although when it comes to this situation, Sheloah thought if it was still considered a sin to kill.
Suddenly, some people who were wearing the same uniform as the person who died, came out from different places of their current location.
One girl ran towards the boy whom Sheloah killed and she started wailing. The girl looked at Sheloah sharply, like her eyes were a blade.
“You killed Paul, didn’t you,” she said and she stood up slowly.
Sheloah raised an eyebrow at her. “Yeah.” She didn’t bother denying it.
The girl suddenly went towards Sheloah and had slapped her hard on the face. Everyone was surprised as they watched the scene. After five seconds, Sheloah scoffed, smirked at the girl in front of her, then punched her hard on the face. The girl staggered back a bit, and her nose started bleeding.
“Sheloah, stop!”
The girl whom Sheloah punched, retrieved her knife under her skirt and she pointed it at Sheloah. She didn’t seem scared, as she still kept her face straight and upward, not being intimidated by the girl’s taunt.
Sheloah took the opportunity to push her, which the girl didn’t expect. The knife on her hand fell on the ground. She suddenly went berserk as she jumped on Sheloah and started pulling her hair.
While Sheloah was being pinned down by the girl on top of her, she successfully reached the knife that fell off from her enemy’s hand and she pointed it at her.
“Sheloah!”
Her uncle and her mother shouted in unison. How could this girl move too much under her weakened state?
“Stop it!”
Her mother was really begging for her to stop. Sheloah just pushed the girl on top of her slightly as she threw the knife on the ground the moment she stood up. She just glared at the girl, giving her a warning that if she attacked her again, Sheloah won’t be able to hold herself back.
Veon went towards Sheloah and he pulled her away as he held her hand tightly. “Sheloah, just stop.”
Sheloah sighed when she felt a little embarrassed by how she had acted because of her anger. She just gave one last look at the girl in front of her then said her last warning.
“If you went near me again, you’ll definitely join your boyfriend in hell.”
