Army of True Salvation - Chapter 6:They Will All Die
Everyone was now on the rooftop; they were all complete. It was a good thing that none of them were left behind but everyone knew that this was just the beginning.
What if the situation dragged on for too long? They won’t avoid that one of them or some of them would die.
Sheloah sighed as she hugged both of her knees. She can’t help but feel sad for her schoolmates who didn’t make it.
Are there some schoolmates she knew that survived? Are there grades 7, grades 8, third years and fourth years who were still struggling outside the rooftop?
Are they going to last long?
They are fully aware that they were not sure of their safety considering the population of their school. They are over 3000+ students and they are only 47. The other remaining, did they turn into zombies or are they hiding somewhere in this school? What if there were other survivors, too? What if the others really did turn into a zombie. It would really pose a great challenge!
They were not too sure.
Sheloah looked at Veon. “What time is it,” she asked and Veon looked at his watch.
“12:32PM. Lunch time,” he answered and Sheloah looked at her classmates. It’s best if they eat now to calm everyone’s thoughts.
“Guys,” she called their attention. “Let’s start eating. Remember, some of us didn’t bring our lunch so we’d better share what we have now.”
Everyone got lunchboxes from the bags they carried and they started eating in groups. It was a good thing they understood the situation they are in. The world may soon come to an end because of the zombie attack and all they need to do for survival is to attack, escape, share and act quick.
This is unavoidable and their survival is their utmost priority. They are thankful that even in this situation, they still had some food and water to spare for the day.
“Sheloah,” Veon called her as he started to take out a lunchbox from the bag. Sheloah looked at him as he gave the lunchbox to her.
“This…” Sheloah said as she just looked at Veon offering her food.
“I know you don’t have lunch,” he said and Sheloah smiled slightly.
“Yeah, I gave it to them.” Veon opened the lunchbox and handed it again to Sheloah.
“They are already okay with the 29 lunchboxes for sharing. They even have some biscuits with them,” he said as he gave Sheloah a fork. “Let’s share.”
Sheloah took the fork and smiled at Veon. “Thank you.”
The two of them were eating tuna and rice and they had Cream-O[1] as their sweet snack after. They were already satisfied with that; thankful that even with the situation at hand, they still had something to eat.
Sheloah got a bottled water from the bag and gave it to Veon. “I have extra. Let’s share,” she said and Veon took it and drank it. He thanked Sheloah and left half of the water for her to drink.
While they were sitting down, both of them looked at their classmates talking to each other. Sheloah smiled a bit as she saw some of her classmates smiling, too. She was happy to see that despite the situation, they were still smiling. It also meant that they had to act quick.
Because these smiles wouldn’t last long.
Sheloah stood up and went at the farthest part of the rooftop and looked down. She could see what was happening outside their school. When she looked down, she was surprised to see what had happened even though it was expected.
There were buildings on fire. There were a lot of people running and there were a lot of zombies biting their targets. There were also cars that bumped into each other. She noticed that this wasn’t like the movie World War Z wherein in 12 seconds a person could turn into a zombie, but it would take a person for more than a minute before they could completely turn into one.
Veon went beside Sheloah and also looked down. “There are already a lot of zombies in our city. What more in other places,” he said and Sheloah shook her head.
“Maybe it had already started in their place as well,” Sheloah said as she folded her arms in front of her chest. “Did it also start in other countries?” Veon shrugged as his answer. They were not too sure.
They will all die.
