Army of True Salvation - Chapter 61:He Won
Veon fell to the floor. There was blood coming out from his abdomen.
“Veon!”
Everyone in their group, including the parents, shouted in worry.
There was already a lot of blood coming out of his body. It seemed to be a deep stab.
Veon tried his best to smile at Sheloah. “I can do this. Trust me,” he said and Sheloah still cried, worried about his situation.
Ray approached Sheloah. “No matter what happens, I won’t go to your group,” she said and she was suddenly slapped hard on the face by Ray.
“Sheloah!”
Everyone in their group who witnessed this shouted and the groupmates of Ray just cheered him on.
Sheloah’s mother was about to approach her when people from Ray’s group stopped her. Dannie’s father was about to attack when a person from Weapons of Massive Destruction pointed a gun at him. Dannie’s father was unarmed so he had no choice.
“Release my sister and my niece,” Sheloah’s uncle shouted but his plea fell on deaf ears. Three people pointed a gun at Sheloah’s uncle.
Sheloah held her cheek when the two boys released her.
“How low of you to hit a woman,” she said and Ray laughed at her.
Because of what was happening, Army of True Salvation fought back. It was like a war between two groups had happened.
Sheloah punched Ray hard on the face. Sheloah tried to run away but when she tripped over, Ray caught her and embraced her. Sheloah started screaming in panic and in fear.
“Leave her alone!” Sheloah’s mother and uncle shouted in unison as they struggled to attack.
Ray held Sheloah’s face. “You’re so naughty,” he said and Sheloah spat on his face.
Ray scoffed as he wiped Sheloah’s spit with his free hand. He held Sheloah’s face tightly with his other hand as his face went near hers.
“Get your filthy hands off me,” Sheloah warned and Ray chuckled slightly and Sheloah felt his breath on her own face. “Stop,” she begged him but Ray ignored her.
His lips almost reached Sheloah’s when she noticed that there was blood dripping on her skirt.
‘What happened?’
She noticed that there was a knife on his waist. She also noticed that Veon’s hand was tightly holding onto the knife’s handle. Sheloah was surprised. No one had even noticed Veon move! He saved her. He still fought despite his painful condition!
Veon stood up slowly as he retracted his weapon from Ray’s body. He pushed Ray with all his might and sat on him. He raised his hand, preparing for an attack, as he successfully stabbed Ray’s chest.
Sheloah sat on the ground, taken aback with the unexpected turn of events. Everyone was baffled with what happened as well. No one had expected it.
Veon stood up once more after he retracted his knife from Ray’s chest. Blood started oozing from his wound. Everyone was watching Ray die.
Veon looked back to see if Sheloah was okay. She ran up towards Veon to support him. She held his arm.
“Don’t move,” she said and Veon’s body gave in when he felt safety in Sheloah’s arms.
“I told you, didn’t I,” Veon struggled to speak when his chin rested on Sheloah’s shoulder. “You’re one of the people waiting for me,” he added and Sheloah’s heart started beating fast.
After she thanked him, Veon fainted. Everyone in their group rushed in towards the two. Dannie’s father and Sheloah’s uncle carried Veon away when Sheloah’s mother embraced her, relieved of her daughter’s safety.
After a while, Glenda approached Sheloah and explained the situation Veon was in. She told her that Veon wasn’t that deeply injured because it had not affected any of his organs. Sheloah felt relieved to have heard the news.
Sheloah looked at the sky and smiled.
‘He won.’
